When I coined the term Gabriel Highroller Traveller 4 years ago I was basically predicting the future 💵 Jokes aside... Gabriel, you're a legit traveller who travel because you like to travel. It's not about trying to make money by pretending you enjoy travelling. I've always gotten that impression from you anyway EDIT: Towards end of video now where you say it used to be $1 per 1k views. I remember $0.5 per 1k views even 🤦🏼‍♂Yes, your'e right it's higher now than before. But I can remember even worse than you mentioned. My worst video as far as ad rates are concerned ever was 1.5 mill views and it made $90

Yowza, yeah that's pretty bad. I make that much now on videos with 10-15,000 views. It's a mystery how they calculate the earnings, but the main thing is just keep on uploading and it tends to work out in the end. Have fun in the mountains.

Cannot but conclude that Nepal will see the biggest increase in tourism out of any country in the world over the next decade. So unique the countless valleys and mountains you can explore here without hordes of other travellers queuing up the same trail. There's so many treks here that tourism could increase tenfold and you'd still feel you're the only one scaling the mountain

Hi Gabriel, I remember when you were making less and that was just a few years ago you've made a pretty rapid increase in revenue. The pandemic really hurt things, but I bet people spent more time at home watching your watching videos and it just caught fire. Yes, the longer videos go the more ads which could be the game changer in adding revenue. I also think where you are going makes a difference. Many people like me love it when you travel out to places and extend yourself to see things you may have not seen before because you just didn't stay long enough. It allows you to not only travel to these places but thoroughly stay around to see more locations enjoying what these places truly offer in terms of places to stay or things to eat giving a broader side of the country and enjoying many things you couldn't do before.

I think I can explain why your viewership might be falling as your income is rising: I've noticed that when you go to some less-visited countries there are lots of locals who watch you (based on the comments). Perhaps someone notices you're there and the word gets out and lots of people subscribe. Yet, in places like Bangladesh or Morocco the ads they watch don't raise much money so they do not increase your income, and those people might not stay with you. Meanwhile, more people in Europe and North America notice you, subscribe and watch regularly and their viewing does raise your income. I hope you can keep growing and keeping subscribers in all parts of the world, because the global mix of comments is often fascinating.

Way above average monthly salary probably in all countries. Gabriel too could easily live in Norway where average monthly salary is around 5 to 6 thousand euro. Even a small channel on youtube with less than 10 thousand subscribers can make a few thousand euro a month.

One of the best videos I've watched on KZbin creator revenues. I personally have no interest in starting my own but I have subscribed to many and have spent countless hours watching them. Mostly the travel ones. Felt guilty about time spent doing that until I was subbing for a middle school teacher a few weeks ago and we were talking about careers. I started watching when Gabe went to Australia. I'm super interested in Australia and am planning my third trip there. It would be great to see more content from Australia and New Zealand! I like the channel because it's authentic. He's not directly selling stuff in the videos nor is he making the content all about himself. That makes the content more interesting and useful. Sometimes I get curious about safety, but I understand why Gabe doesn't address it. For example, so many times, Gabe is by himself, often at night, off the beaten path. You deserve every penny and I wish it was 10x the amount for allowing us to see the world through you. Since travel is coming roaring back after the coronavirus I bet the ads that display are high CPC travel related ads which may contribute to your higher earnings as its a very competitive ad category.

Hi Gabriel, the CPM is a pretty accurate reflection of how much advertisers are willing to pay to attract new business. If your CPM has gone up significantly in the past couple of years, I'd venture to guess it's because of the post-covid travel boom and "revenge travel". Keep it up, you have awesome content, and maybe think about diversifying too. I'm sure many people would buy "Gabriel's guide to budget travel" if it's priced right.
