Thanks for sharing the costs with us! You'll be out golfing on the practice facility very soon once it warms up consistently

Love what you’re doing. I installed a tif grand green in April 2022. See my time lapse at Home Golf Course Volume 4.

That's awesome, Rob. Thank you.

Any chance you could do a in depth beginner video on this? Go through fertilizer, spraying, and seeding for someone who knows nothing about it? Really interested in this but have no idea where to start and although you give some insight, I feel like i need something more in depth.
@JasonSeiberlich Жыл бұрын
This video is part of a playlist of videos on beginner guide to putting green. Probably have the least info on fertilizing, but that's because I generally don't fertilize the green that much different than I do the rest of my yard.

I've been curious about the bent grass. Lots of people are using tenacity and other products to stop aggressive bent grass growth. Obviously if we're planting it, we want it there, but does it spread? How to you keep it isolated to the green and leave the Rye/KBG for the fairway/rough?
@JasonSeiberlich Жыл бұрын
It will be a bit of a struggle. Tenacity is an option to damage it along with I believe a few other products. But, if you plant it, you do so with an acceptance that it will eventually end up somewhere you don't want it.

This video is sort helpful. But getting that green master is tough. And i cant find an 11 blade. Most 9 and 10 blades are 2800 dollars. Steep price for a little putting green. But ill keep searching.
@JasonSeiberlich5 ай бұрын
Definitely comes down to the market you're in. A 7 or 8 blade will do fine. But 11 is best for greens height. They do pop up every so often, though.

Came out great. I don't play golf but if I did .............

I've loved the learning experience even beyond the use of the facility. A good challenge.

How did you find a greens mower for so inexpensive??
@JasonSeiberlich Жыл бұрын
It was 2 years ago and I spend entirely too much time on FB marketplace. Would be hopeful to get something around 1000 now.

How do u stop the squirrels from digging and burying acorns??
@JasonSeiberlich Жыл бұрын
I don't. For whatever reason they prefer the fairway and my front yard.

Are you in Wisconsin? By waupaca? I'm in Plover.

Yes to Wisconsin but down by Milwaukee.

Thanks for sharing the costs. I could work on my short game. 😊

I can't speak highly enough about the experience. I have a video on the time it takes to manage and an updated version on how to start. But, those will both happen next spring.

How important do you think drainage is for a green? I’m starting to plan for a small green in my backyard now. Main concern is that backyard is below front yard. Also concerned with time/effort digging up the area and installing drainage.
@JasonSeiberlich Жыл бұрын
Do you get standing water?
@ChadHileman Жыл бұрын
@@JasonSeiberlich No. However, the area is very soft in the early spring though.
@JasonSeiberlich Жыл бұрын
So is mine. That will be fine. Amd if it does end up an issue, seeding really isn't that difficult if you decide you need to do something for drainage.

Do you still have the 180b??

Yes. Big fan for the smaller green

A golf green is like buying a boat. Money , Money and more Money. All he talks about is money, get the hint?
@JasonSeiberlich6 ай бұрын
Lmao yes, in the video where I'm trying to help people understand how much a green costs in order to help them decide if its something they can do, I'm talking about how much the green costs. Feel like that probably could have gone without saying. But, here we are.

Thanks for the content, btw, golfing and my lawn are two of my favorite things. I’ve been really wanting to take a online course through Rutgers just to really get the basic foundation of knowledge of turf. Your channel is awesome.

Thanks. Search for a book on Amazon called Turfgrass Management by AJ Turgeon and JE Kaminski. It's like $45-$50 depending on where you find it. I picked it up at the recommendation of people smarter than I and there is so much information in there.
