I start school to become a MRI tech In October, it’s a 18month course I’m ready to get started. I’m 22 I’ll be done once I’m 23 turning 24 hopefully everything goes well.

I have been telling MR techs on the groups that taking that 30 an hour was WAY TOO LOW, now I hope they will believe me!!! I am talking about people with years of experience of course. And the ones doing Breast MRI in my area are way underpaid according to this!!

Hey MRI MAN. Half the people tell me to do an X-ray first, and then do MRI after and the other half tell me to do the Primary MRI program. On the one hand, I could have X-ray as a safety net, and it also opens up more opportunities in the future, such as CT, IR, and Cath Lab… This path would take 21 months for the X-ray and 9 months for the MRI. The Primary MRI program at the local clinic was newly launched this year as a result of increased demand, and it's only 16 months long. The Primary MRI program will allow me to concentrate on and master one modality, allowing me to enter the workforce faster with one of the higher-paying modalities, but it will limit me to MRI. But I am confident that I will not be out of work in MRI due to the high demand. Any tips or advice?

how can you do mri first , before x-ray? I thought you needed to do x-ray school first , then you choose your modality. Its like that here in new york.

@@mike_zilla8604 Did you make sure that this program is accredited? Otherwise, won't you be pretty much stuck to that facility since there's no credentials that would apply anywhere else? I'm looking at a cardiovascular AAS program and it looks very interesting and pays the same salary range as X Ray, but I feel like X Ray can work a lot of places CVT's can (like Cath lab, maybe electrophysiology) so I'm deciding between these 2 specialities although CVT interest me more.

at 4:52, the mean salary for MRI techs with 3-5 years of experience is $67,827 / 2080 = $32.60/hr. 2080 is derived from someone working full time 40 hours/week x 52 weeks per year.

There’s a difference between a radiologist and a radiology technologist. Those numbers you’re talking about are definitely what a radiologist (who is an MD) would make. I hope this helps.

you’re thinking of a specialized radiology medical doctor who went through 4 year bachelor, 4 year medical school, and 3-5 years of residency/fellowships. they are the ones who get paid the big bucks.

armrit is staring to become more recognized. Check some job offerings in your area if they accept armrit. Alot of my coworkers have armrit

You need to be certified with ARRT as well. ARMRIT give you a limit to get the jobs. Some hospitals want you to have both ARRT and ARMRIT certificates.

I highly recommend phlebotomy! It's a great entry to the medical field and also a great job to have while going to school for radiology.

Hey! So honest question. I start my RT program in a couple months. My endgame is in nuclear medicine. I will admit i dont want to become a doctor nor a NP. But i know my aspirations and i was wondering if there is any way a RT tech could make more than 100k a year? Just a random question. I keep finding different sites that say its possible and others saying its not at all possible. Would branhcing out into nuclear medicine or radiation therapy bring a bigger salary? Again, im asking out of curiosity but would appreicate you thoughts on this. Thanks,
