What your guess? Of course every body is different and we all spend our money differently. Living in Las Vegas at one point was a piece of cake, but as more and more people keep moving here, it's gotten much more expensive. I'm hoping this video helps a little to see what my daily and monthly expenses are when in comes to living in Las Vegas. My expenses may be a little different since I am a single girl, not married, and no kids, so whatever income I make, I only spend on myself. Hope you enjoy!

Hello Norma. Thank you for being so candid. It’s so personal and no one’s business and I cannot imagine sharing my expenses with the world. But I found it really interesting. It makes me smile to see a bright, young woman enjoying life and I have learned from your videos. As many times as I’ve been to Las Vegas, I’ve never been to many of the places you have shown. Thank you.

It is amazing how quickly things can add up. Every once in a while it’s good to check the numbers. Knowing you piled your business expenses into the total, the numbers came out lower than what I expected. I guess you’ll keep on having to crank out these great videos to help pay the bills and I’m ok with that. Great as always.

Wow Norma, I appreciate all the insight. You have come along way. I was turned onto Las Vegas local videos based on your first one. Not even sure how I came onto it. May have been one time I was spinning down the KZbin rabbit hole or could have just been because Vegas Pandemic was in my search. It is truly a good journey to see you weekly and great comfort in seeing someone who appreciates the city as much as I do, although not a resident, yet. Thank you again. I'll be making my SB return next week to this great city and hopefully run into you and say hello.

Vegas resident from 1988-2004. Moved there in 1988. Las Vegas was a relatively small town back then and a very low cost of living, cheap buffets, etc. Not surprised of the costs there but with people moving there from California and other places it costs more. Vegas has certainly changed since I left there. Good luck in Vegas. Great channel and love the content.

Best of times until a falling out. I and pizza guy moved about 2 blocks away, rent was lower but apartment much smaller too.

The cost of living seems on par with most major cities. Vegas is definitely more expensive to visit than other cities. I normally budget $400 a day for expenses not including a hotel. And, it's worth every penny Vegas tops other cities when it comes to dining and entertainment options. I'm meeting my oldest son in Vegas (Feb 22-25) and we're visiting many of the restaurants and attractions we've seen in your videos. Definitely, trying the Bacchanal Buffet, Tacos El Gordo, and a few others. Have you thought about making a best Bloody Mary video? Hoping to see you at Tacos El Gordo.

it is not that expensive to live here. yes, rents are going up but just like anywhere else you can find the basics much cheaper. Locals do not frequent the tourist areas all that often
@ScreamingGhoul
@ScreamingGhoul 2 жыл бұрын
@@traci4750 I totally understand locals not visiting tourist attractions often. I live about an hour from Tombstone Arizona and have never seen the OK Corral. I try to visit Vegas every month and enjoy the tourist attractions. I'm sure I would feel different if I lived in Vegas. I watch Norma's channel because she goes beyond the generic "What to do in Vegas" content and shows the Vegas from a local perspective. I have found myself straying away from the strip and downtown to experience some local spots after watching her videos. Everything is less expensive away from the strip. I appreciate Norma for saving me some serious cash and introducing me to some great restaurants.

@masonlee5453

Thats cuz you stayed. I lived in NYC for 30 years. Left in 2011. My queens apartment was 2 Bed 1 bath 850 SQft. at 1100 a month. Rent in Vegas at that time was 700 a month for around 930 SQ ft. Country is now even more ruined by democrats AVG rent in vegas is about 1800. still lower than NYC but that what happens when you vote blue no matter who. Meanwhile 4000 Sq foot home in Houston is not even 800,000 with no income tax. Nevada is a purple state right now, soon to be fully blue. Thanks to piss poor democrats during the pandemic, there is no more cheap buffets for anyone. While states like SD, Tennesse are still low cost of living and thriving businesses. (I never gave a shit who was president until Rent Eggs, Milk, Gas, and Bread was out of control) I left NY cuz of the taxes and cost of living, I left Los Angeles because of business regulations. If housing prices don't drop for me by 2024, I'm out to Texas.
@timmusgrove6990
@timmusgrove6990 2 жыл бұрын
I pay almost that in Vegas haha, it depends on the apartment and location. I lived in Houston, Vegas and other places and Vegas and Houston apartment pricing is similar, but Vegas is way more interesting imo. Vegas is a very unique place so it only makes sense to live there for certain people. All nice cities that keep getting better will have increases in rent price. Legalization of weed is part of that too. I think it has little to do with politics. Vegas has always been a tourism/party city.

@@masonlee5453 Here in Texas, we welcome red voters. (Blue voters not invited, but they are welcome to play with our Longhorns) 😂 I bought my small house (3-2-2 at 1600sf) in 1998 (2% down) and then refinanced it in 2004. (at a cost of about $1.5k out of pocket) and my payment is $455 per month. I pay my taxes and insurance myself instead of rolling it in to the payment on the mortgage. (taxes and insurance is more than my mortgage each year) Plenty of 2k sf houses here (some with pools) for under $300k. $500k still buys a very, very handsome house here.... Some of my old co-workers that were in California sold their houses and moved here. They paid cash for their house here, and still had $200k in the bank.

Thanks for this, Norma. I think your low rent skews things a little bit. You are fortunate to be paying something like $1000 less than if you had your own place to rent, which would put you more in a $50-55k/yr position instead of your current ~$40k/yr (3300/month over 12 months). But really appreciate your being willing to be this inside baseball. Just to be clear, I know they were a sponsor, but I hope you're not paying $90/wk in groceries on top of Hello Fresh.

Hi Norma-As a person who has shared dual residence between New York, and Las Vegas for now 32 years, I can definitely tell you that rentals over the past year, or so have skyrocketed. For example, my rental, last year, went from $900.00 a month to $1200 a month. Now fortunately I can afford it-but there was a lot “apartment jumping” with local residents last year, even in my complex. Your video was excellent, it certainly will help new residents coming to town.

Great vlog and very refreshing seeing another side of you. I love how transparent you are, which shows how comfortable and confident you are. You are a natural star in front of the camera. I love your outtakes, it's always fun to watch and reflects how personable you are. Thanks for sharing.

@@NormaGeli Norma, by far you are one of my favorite Vegas vloggers for sure. Always a beautiful and genuine smile, so professional and a natural! What would be interesting (to me) and fun to see is the entire process for the "making of a video". Take us behind the scenes. How often do you record? How do you get your ideas? Take us along for the ride on the planning, recording, eating and editing.

I swear, I don't think I've seen a KZbinr that does the commercials as well as you do! You and Lydia with the berets last week? 🤣 Those tostadas looked delicious! Most tubers just read a quick script, but you come up with a little concept and film something. Love it! 😀 And holy crap, car insurance is expensive in Vegas!
