How much I spent and saved on the last year of the 3DS WiiU Eshop

Since I started to spend a bit too much on the 3DS and WiiU's e-shop in it's last year, I thought I should keep track of of how many games I bought, how much they cost used, and see if how much I saved. I spent this much under the thought of "I'd be saving money buying them now then what they would be used." I've had to make many corrections but this is a rough estimate of how much I spent, the used games, and how much I saved by comparison. Enjoy. :)

Speaking personally, overall I bought 38 games for both 3DS and Wii U in the last year. I won’t go into too much detail, but I’ll say the biggest saves I got were Partners in Time, Rhythm Thief, Minish Cap, Metroid Prime Trilogy (~263), Super Mario RPG (~184), and Drill Dozer (~300, apparently). Looking at this, the e-shops really had some value picks in there.

Pandora's Tower's price was maybe due to the Wii U so it was releasing during the near end of the Wii's lifespan

I remember buying Pandora's tower from the eShop in 2016 for around £17. Maybe you could count that as near the end of the Wii U's lifespan but it was one of the launch wii games on the eShop so it was the value price for early adopters.

Even when Nintendo's delisting various games forever, they still won't put things on sale. Anyway, I bought the 3DS Ace Attorney games since they were on sale, they weren't physically released at all, and they aren't part of a collection at the moment. I didn't buy the Ace Attorney Trilogy since that's available on other platforms. I didn't have any space on my Wii U, and I was strapped for cash in general, so sadly I didn't buy more than that.

Great video CJ, I’m always trying to find the best deals when buying things and I always love finding bargains. I’m thinking about getting a Switch OLED and I don’t know whether I should get physical games or digital. With physical games, I don’t need to rely so much on the Switch’s storage. With digital games, the games will maintain their quality; as you said in the video. Which type do you think I should go for?

that part with the strikers charge about placing games in a different case happens a lot with my ps4 games and I usually good with it but yeah most of these are expensive and yeah Gamestop now a days don't remember most of their gba games heck I got lucky with Emerald for $30's a few years ago but yeah they stopped caring for gba etc

Yeesh, I wasn't expecting some of the prices on getting the physical versions. Guess I'm too used to seeing older games go for $5-10 at the used game/movie store I visit. Sad to see I missed the Capcom and Wayforward sale. Though my 3DS is nearly out of memory space so I probably wouldn't have been able to install most of the games in the first place.

(To cjszero01) So on the topic of Donkey Kong, did you watch the two animated Donkey Kong music videos by Alex Henderson? You know the ones with the beautiful art style that's mix of CG and 2D with the latter bringing back some of the voice actors from the Donkey Kong Country cartoon. (Except for Len Carlson who's dead)

Oh I never got a 3DS or WiiU in the first place. The the only one I regret missing on WiiU was Wind Waker HD , that was physical only. But I don't how many things I missed on 3DS. Though if I had to deal with Nintendo internet service , I'm better off not even trying. 🤣

Did you make sure to get Bomberman Blitz? That one was only ever a digital download, so there are no physical copies. It is completely unavailable through legitimate means now.

I did not, I almost did but considering it's basically a vs only game and the online is gone, I think I'll be okay.

also Apolo Justice 3ds was just a download it was an originally on the DS as the other Games in the series were downloads after that game

Lol, you actually took the time to buy the stuff you wanted? Personally, I have no qualms about just emulating any of the games they delisted. If they don't want to sell it, I'll gladly not pay

I don't want to be that guy but when VG Companies makes everything so hard to get AND I'M WILLING TO SPEND THAT MONEY... Homebrew and YOU ARE A PIRATE is the way. Taito is not porting that NES game (Little Samson) which cost a lot of money due to short supply and being released 2 years after the SNES release date... WELP, SORRY TAITO... But i'm not going to pay 2K for a loose copy.

I prefer to have the official copy or version. But I definitely see why others are going this way. If someone has to go to the high seas to get a copy that isn't in stock, and they don't get the money anyways... well I still can't do that and while I won't say "That's what you should do", I will look the other way.
