I focus mostly on freelancers and i have a few as close friends who tell me some numbers. Many freelancers are lazy and not as motivated as you think. I know one girl who’s a 10 but she spends most of her time drinking, partying and traveling and works just enough to support that lifestyle. Most freelancers will work for a while then take time off so they aren’t making as much as the pretty bar girls who work 7 days a week 12 hours a day. I would say that the prettiest girls are able to work much less whereas the average girls need to work twice as hard to keep up. Once a Pattaya girl is over 30 her income plummets along with her looks. Also many girls refuse to accept offers of men from certain countries and races and some will only go with you if you are decent looking, have at least an average physique and not too old. Most girls over 30 have no such standards. I know some freelancers that have only 1 customer every 2 or 3 days and i know one girl who has between 2 and 10 customers a day. It’s a very diverse spectrum in regards to income.

I have got to know a gogo girl very well and In defense of the girls, they work 10 shifts of 8 hrs every fortnight. Those on 10000 baht contracts have to get 40 drinks and 2 bar fines of $1500 or it is deducted from their pay. They may get more if they are very pretty but at quiet times with 30 girls, there may not be many customers. Unlike a western job there is no sick leave or holidays and they have to pay for healthcare. As for having multiple sponsors and boyfriends what you don’t know doesn’t hurt you and we can have multiple gf too! You can still have great fun if you are generous and don’t expect to own them. Am I crazy?!?! I keep seeing inflated prices but I was just there!! I watched tons of videos before I hit soi6 in April. I was only there for a few days for business but I didn't have problems negotiating. I'm also old, short and overweight. Here is what I paid: All for ST on soi6 All activities were onsite from three different establishments. 1st girl was a 5 - 6, about 29. She asked for 1500 and I offered 1200. Told her I'd walk. She took 1200 and I gave a 150B tip. 2nd girl was a 22yro hottie. She asked for 2000 and I offered 1500. She took the deal and was very enthusiastic. Tipped her 200B 3rd girl was probably about 35 and clearly had been around. About a 7 on attractiveness. She asked for 1500 and I gave 1300 and she took it happily. She kept wanting to kiss so no tip. ALL barfines were 400B. Nobody asked for more and LD was only 150B. I went early and late in the evenings, but never out past midnight! Why do I keep seeing videos for ST 3000 - 5000B?!?!?!

The drinks commission, for the girls does, not kick in until they've earned a certain amount of lady drinks. So it's not as simple as b1000 per day plus b50 per lady drink. It's b1000 per day plus b50 per lady drink over 10. In other words the don't start earning commission on drinks till they've earned 10.

I don’t know…I think the point the video is that you don’t need to pity or sponsor the girls. I’m of the camp that believes that you don’t need to tip for drinks either. The Thais don’t. I don’t tip for ST either unless the girl lets me video or is an extremely skilled lover and is willing to go above and beyond for my pleasure. They may call me a Cheap Charlie but you know…sticks and stones…they keep letting me take them out. I’m not a drinker and I don’t go to the bars for the riveting conversation either. Many of those girls haven’t finished high school and have no real life experience outside of the village so it can get pretty boring pretty quick. I scope out (walk) the street once or twice before going into a place that has a girls who I want to bar fine. I order a soda/tonic water, buy 1 girl drink and ask the girl her prices…I try to negotiate fine+st = 1500…for a real looker who has a good attitude I will go to 2000. More than that then I either switch girls or walk out. Walking Street is more expensive and I usually go for freelancers over there. Can save 300-500 on the price (i.e., the bar fine). If they want a drink I stop into 7/11 for a Spy or Beer…whatever they want (Cheaper than girl drinks). I always ask the bar girls if they freelance, many don’t but many do. If I like the girl’s attitude and intelligence I will get her LINE and add her to my stable of regulars. With my stable I will set up a schedule with the girls. Bar girls who freelance are usually available 12 noon to 17:00 (after breakfast and before work). So when I’m not working I’ve got something to do in the afternoons. Regular freelancers will have morning and evenings free. Sometimes if I find someone I really like I will go for the GFE and take them out for a weekend or a week. Usually gets expensive because it’s in conflict with their multiple income streams and they don’t want to lose money. So price depends on how badly I want the girl. I know several guys who travel in and out of Thailand and want that special someone waiting for them so they give the girl sponsor money. Sometimes a guy will pay for beauty school or buy them inventory that they can sell. But the girls never just wait, never seem to finish school and never open a shop (a very few notable exceptions). Eventually the sponsors catch on and then that’s the end of that income stream. The girls will generally make themselves available when a sponsor is in town but they may need to leave early (sick buffalo/child/parent AKA meeting another sponsor). I like to hook up with massage girls too. Some of those girls make way more than bar girls but they may service 5-10 guys a day plus they get massage money too. I know 2 girls (friends of friends) making 40k+ per week but they were out of the trade in 12-18 months. So yeah, some of the girls make a lot of money but in the long run most don’t. A few bad life choices and they are broke by their mid 30s and don’t have the looks or energy to make the big bucks but can’t escape the trade because they have no other skills and city life has spoiled village life.

I’m in Pattaya right now and spend most of the daytime in the malls to keep cool. The central festival mall is a fascinating place to relax and watch the world. Besides the freelancers walking around the mall, trying to smell the blood of potential farang customers, you see a lot of Thai-farang couples. Guess which of the two is doing the shopping and the other the paying? Gifts are another source of income for these ladies. On one floor, there is a “easy money” store buying and selling gold and jewellery. I saw an awful lot of engagement rings. It is fascinating, amusing a touch unnerving for a single farang observer.

Six incum streams per month: 1. Salary at a bar (11,000 - 25,000 THB in a 10 day period). 2. Drink commissions (50-60 THB per ladydrink). 3. Barfine commissions (a part of 400-800 THB per barfine). 4. Tips (100 THB per customer, 10 x per night). 5. ST/LT (minimum 3 x in a 10 day period. 3 x 4,000 THB on average). 6. Sponsor (10,000 THB per white knight). Basic earnings for a gurl is around 1000 THB per day. 2.5 x more on Walkingstreet/agogo. 7. Freelancing on the side. I've seen gurls getting picked up on the street when they are on the way to/from work. But also going to clubs after the bars are closed. This kind of stopped a bit when the bars closed at 4am instead of 3am though. 8. I've also seen bars where gurls are standing in front of a camera and streaming on KZbin etc. getting tips from viewers. They don't do much, just looking into the camera smiling and bouncing a bit in a group together with other gurls.

From my recent visit to Pattaya last month, I certainly noticed a lot more ‘drink queens’ than normal maybe because it was out of season I don’t know. But I’ve realised you need to be a bit hardnose when you go into a bar and work out if the girl is going to allow you to bar fine them. But from my experience if you think about it if you’re out from 9/10 pm an evening you are going to be buying a lot of drinks and possibly drifting from one bar to the next. Top end girls in the busy bars along Soi buakhao certainly our choosing of whom they want to go with because they are in a position to do so, so you need to be well groomed if you want to have a chance with them.

thats why imho Bkk is better at the moment then Pattaya. I respect your and your barber calculations, and I totally agree with that, but… this is true for 5-10% of t(e women here. Some, will do even more. But…. 90% will do less. Much less, especially in the low season. I see many bar girls/women that will not have even 2 LD a night, many bars are not full at all and the ladies stand outside waving for customers, some will play their phones, some will just chat between themselves. In many bars you have 1-2 beautiful girls that will be popular and receive drinks, will be barfines, but, 10 other will just serve drinks and clean tables and manage the pool balls. Great info Dan, of course you are averaging and generalising. I like to share some info i got first hand from a girl I met at Myth night May 2024. I had a few encounters with her so after a few nights she was comfortable to tell me about her boyfriends as I also was very open telling her about my girls. In your calculation you are talking about the top 5% of women who not only look extremely good, but also work optimally. The average bar lady is far below that, but compared to the average Thai daily wage (400 baht/day), she still earns very good money. My own expert (former Agogo dancer, now girlfriend) estimates the realistic monthly income of an average bar girl to be around 30 - 40,000 baht/month.

I haven't been on soi 6 for several years now. Yes, it's cheaper, but you'll only get a short time (20 minutes) in the back room which you'll pay a fee for, in addition to a bar fine. Yes, it may be 1500 for 20 minute short time, but add up the room and bar fine.. well, it's more than 1500. Also, ladies will hussle for drinks before and after. High volume of bars and girls on the soi also keeps the prices down. You'll end up spending 3k maybe.

I can totally see the 7-10s making a good bit of tax free money. However Pattaya is also filled with 3-6s that I think are struggling now. I recently was there (stayed at airbnb right on Soi Buakhao), and a lot of the beer bars lining the street were pretty empty with all the average looking ladies there just twiddling their thumbs (on their phones). Same with Soi Pothole with the exception of the two GCs on the end that keep doing good business most days. Beer bars on Soi Diana and Soi Honey very empty too.

One thing to remember too for us guys, what these girls have to DO to earn this money is not easy to do. I mean especially the bar fining. Having to sleep with guys they don’t really know. Strangers for the most part. Some are not attractive. At all! Overweight too. Yet these beautiful girls have to sleep with that guy! That’s not easy to do. No. Plus sometimes that guy could be violent. Crazy. Or worse! When I was living in HK I read some stories about how some of the bar girls would end up being murdered! By their crazy customer.
