Oh yeah - in the US, you would pay on whatever you take home or your GROSS. You would not be taxed on the 20% that OF takes from you for utilizing their platform. Because OF is not your employer, they do not take out taxes for you and instead treat you as an independent contractor. In the US they send you a 1099 form for your taxes and you have to pay self employment tax.
