Spot on information, however a video being monetized has nothing to do with search and discoverability. They're two separate departments of KZbin that don't even communicate with each other. So whether or not your video is monetized has nothing to do with people being able to find it and it being promoted.

It's a long game! Focus on consistency. Most channels create consistent, good quality content at least once/week for 6+ months before they even start to see growth.

Good of you to mention! It seems most people don't consider that taxes aren't taken out of your checks like regular jobs with many online money opportunities, an but you still have to pay them. That also means you don't make quite as much either, making your employer pays portions you are also now responsible for, so a $13/hr job at a company where your considered an employee instead of an independent contractor, pays more than a $13/hr job as an indie contactor or self employed.

@@stephenfiore9960 Quarterly payments? It depends on the amount that you owed on the due date last year's taxes. There is an "underestimated tax penalty" but it essentially amounts to paying the interest they could have earned had you paid timely (every quarter rather than just at the end of the year). If you make less than 10,000/yr from KZbin the penalty is nothing to worry about -- it is small compared to the actual tax amount.(penalty is around 5% of the tax amount) It's just tough to get hit with the tax bill (regardless of penalty) at the end of the year not even knowing it would be taxed (so you could save for it) - that is the important reason for this reminder.

Beanie Green Actually it’s the opposite. You can actually get paid more as a independent contractor in the long term. In your example you’ll be getting paid the exact same, the only difference is as a independent contractor you’ll be taking the taxes out yourself but you can get paid more in the long term because you can do business write offs and get money back.
