@@russelljones-d4h Thanks mate appreciate the time taken to drop us a comment. Yeah I'm pretty happy with it. The thing is everyone is used to hearing about these monster superbikes that can do 200hp+ nowadays, so 63hp seems pathetic in comparison, but its all relative to the bike and engine isn't it. For a 2000 bike twin cylinder, it's not bad really 😀 Yeah the guys did a mega job with it all. Really happy and i learned loads by doing it with them. Ben said there's loads more you can do with these too. You never know, we may do a V2 in the future with the engine 😁👍

Do you ever check the exhaust port temps? Most manufacturers run significantly richer than optimum at higher rpm (at full load) to protect the cylinder head from port collapse and valve damage. Did you know with the implementation of EU7 and the outlawing of component protection (running rich at higher rpm to cool exhaust valves and ports could lead to a significant drop in power output of most petrol engines. BMW have patented a system to inject water to provide the necessary cooling required for engine durability as an alternative to using excess fuel.

Hello ! Does the air filter match with the original carburetor ? Is it a K&N ? 0:43 Where did you bought it ? Thank's a lot ! I love my CB but I'm little bit jealous of yours. Well done !
@SuggyRacingАй бұрын
@@11Hirako Hi. This K&N filter had to be adapted to make it fit the carbs. It's too large for the original CB500 carbs, mine are from 900rr fireblade. The filter needed to be cut and reshaped to suit. There's a lot of work that I did on the bike, making custom bits to make it work. I'm sure there are others out there that may fit. I know DNA filters can make one to whatever size you need.

Is it still 471cc? if so 63.6bhp equates to 135bhp/L which is not bad, a lot of standard bikes makes this sort of power and super bikes would be berated if they only made 135BHP/L. Still quite a mild tune which would make a decent road engine.
@SuggyRacingАй бұрын
@@MrTench8 The bottom end is all standard on the bike. All we did was top end, cylinder head work, cams and flywheel. Yeah it's a light tune, there's loads more Ben could do with it to add more. The CB is pretty under powered for a bike as standard. It is old I suppose and was only meant for delivering pizza 🍕 🤣

This cb500 version has 499cc, only the newer versions have smaller engines than that. And it is a two cylinder - engine. You can't really compare that power/displacement level to one of a 4 cylinder- superbike. Better compare it to an MT-7 or something like that. (Quoted from the internet: "(...)USA mt07 (...) puts down 63.76 hp and 46.55 torque stock in North America")
