Some of the numbers in the screenshots of my analytics are off compared to what I say verbally. This could be a combination of me looking at the "since published" numbers rather than just the "2020" totals, but it could also be because some analytics are still finalizing for December and the like. So there are some numbers that are off but the screenshots are the more accurate numbers for my analytics.

Swell, you’re one of the few people I’m actually really glad KZbin recommended to me. You seem like the most transparent person on this platform when it comes to money and how this platform works and I’m so glad you exist!! It gives a good insight as to what to do as a content creator even if you don’t strive to be a business guru bs person. You are so honest and its so appreciated. Thank you for what you do! I wish it was more common; it's that same taboo with discussing your wages with coworkers - that helps no one but The Man. Sure, once you get past a certain threshold, it might feel a little tacky to talk about how outrageous your income is, but for someone trying to make their way into a given field, it really helps to have any kind of clue what numbers you might be dealing with.

Financial secrecy between parents and kids is why my mum had a nightmare of a time dealing with my late grandfathers house/accounts when he died. I think being open and transparent with money is a more progressive decision but that's a generational difference that's tough to overcome.

Love this comment and the replies because that's all I could think about when Amanda was talking about it. Obviously, she has no responsibility to disclose her finances to her youtube audience but also keeping it secret isn't a virtue because that's how bosses take advantage of you. I suspect that's why her sponsors discouraged her from disclosing how much they paid her, tbh.

Agreed. We REALLY should talk more about money. And people should especially talkt to their co-workers about it. Not talking about what you earn only benefits CEO and owners (though if there's a clause that you're not allowed to discuss it in your contract it's probably not worth getting sued over) as their goal is to keep your earnings down as low as possible.

because not all audience are polite and understanding. By disclosing her income, she unintentionally give some sort of an entitlement for some of her audience on how to spend her own money. For example, say she make banks in 2021, but then there's another disaster in 2022, so she gives money to a charity for that cause. But some people might criticize her for giving less money than what those people expect from her. Not only that, if you know KZbinr Kelly Stamps, she also made a youtube revenue video. Since then, some of her old friend, or even someone shes just met are trying to get her to give/lend them money.

Very enlightening. Especially when you consider that many content creators that are up to 10x your size play the guilt card and pretend they are in absolute poverty. When a channel this size is making more than the median income in the USA or Australia. At least you seem to put in more effort than most. So many lazy creators that make millions exist that it creates a feeling of apathy towards busting my ass while earning only slightly more than you. Especially when the people I work for post their revenue figures for the projects I work on.

I think it is fascinating to see these statistics but also the Mouse did start a full war on your video and that was surprising honestly (and scary)! Well, let's hope 2022 will be a good year! Also, getting your channel to 100k on YT is part hard work and part luck with this algorithm. And yes, a "moving out" video will get you views. Good luck and stay safe!

This was all *genuinely* fascinating. Learning how to break down the revenue based on what you see on the screen was really helpful. I would absolutely love to see a taxes video, especially as someone who would love to one day make money from making content on KZbin. I think it's a topic that a lot of people could search for, but I know for me I haven't seen a comprehensive breakdown of KZbinr taxes yet.

I haven't finished watching the video but in it you make an aside to doing a video about your taxes and I'd like to put in a vote for that being a thing in some way or form. (As well, you mentioned transparency. Please know that that is the main reason why I was lured into your channel. I like how you speak very transparently, even as you acknowledge that you can't share everything, and that you share a lot about the business and production side of things.)

You should review more movies/tv shows. It's always great to hear you analyze a piece of media since you have a unique perspective and present a well-rounded opinion. (And yes I would 100% want to see you do your taxes, I'm nosy and you're entertaining)
