SIs had a whole degree and jobs on the side but the show made it out like she was just another girl trying to get a green card! I always knew there was more to what we were being shown on 90 Day Fiance! She is so intelligent and the relationship between her and her husband Benjamin may have had its rocky roads but overall is genuine and beautiful. Best of luck sis, and welcome to America xx

I am a German and never watched 90 Days Fiancee, but I certainly recognize an intelligent girl when I hear her speaking. First I was not able to match the pictures in the vlog and the way the story was told. That changed the moment she mentioned being a software developer. Brought back flashes of my youth (software developer as well) when I spent time in Greece with similar external bathrooms, overfilled buses on the island and fresh food everyday. These days I am a lot older and appreciate more modern environments. But I still treasure the time I had then.

I’m a “90 Day Fiancé” fan. Akinyi was one of my absolute favs. I’m not surprised at how intelligently she put this video together. She is such a beautiful woman inside and out. My experience of moving from Africa to America was completely different because I grew up in the large houses, had chauffeurs, housekeepers, etc. In America, I had to wash my own clothes, clean and take public transport in New York City. I appreciate how Akinyi clearly and correctly explains our experiences in both Africa and America are different. The thing I loved most about watching her on 90 Day Fiancé was that no matter how we as viewers may have judged her life in Kenya, we could not deny how RICH her life was in love, Christian values and happiness.

You can tell this girl is educated. Just the way she speaks and thinks. Talking about marriage and adjusting and so on. When I say educated I don’t mean just school/uni, but in how she was raised. In comparison to many of the other females on 90 days she’s one of the few who actually came for love. She’s humble and grateful. I’m happy that they make each other happy. And that Grayson has such a lovely stepmom.

Akinyi you have transitioned relatively well from 90 Days to now living in America, and you tell your story eloquently with lots of insight - so proud of you. Food is majorly a problem for most of us from Africa but is overcome with some caution. Africa is a diverse continent with people living lifestyles higher than Americans to basic lifestyles in mud thatched huts and everything in between; but so is America(just like the weather) where you will find opulent lifestyles to homelessness to people living in cars, under bridges, gettoes, shacks, farms, apartments, condominiums, townhouses and everything in between; so ignore the shortsighted people adamantly telling you their lifestyles is not like yours - this is your story. Enjoy your new life with hubby/stepson and carry us along. I cannot wait to see how you grow here and also change lifestyle for your family back home.

You are advising her to change people's lifestyles back at home. Its a well thought idea but once you support your siblings and they get money they forget where they came from and become jealous of the person who uplifted their lives. Help not expecting any respect from them. I am one of those when I got married to my white man 25 years ago, I removed poverty from home. However, now my siblings don't know whom I am. Apart from one they are so jealous they could kill if they could get a chance. However, spoil your parents if they are still living. Goodluck in your western world. There are many opportunities here and you can be what you want to be just go to university and get those qualifications and life will never be the same again.

How beautiful this girl is!! I dont follow that tv show but she is so pure in her thoughts and feelings and appreciate her life in Kenia as the way she appreciate USA, here in USA most people (not all) believe you have to be since you born extremely successful and have 200 college degree unrealistic wealthy famous to be worthy but the really wealth comes from their heart in their story . God bless her and her family in Kenia and her husband to see the gold in her

I think they’re all so different, which makes them so cute together. I love how she compares the 2 cultures so well without disparaging either one. She navigated that so honestly and beautifully. You can see her wisdom, even though she’s a young woman. Her parents raised a beautiful young woman and, I sense the same regarding her husband! I hope the 3 of them continued love and success!

Yes, she is giving her experience, but she is still giving the impression that this is the way life in Kenyans, I have seen so many videos of people living in Kenya, and they showed a different lifestyles, even saying online shopping, I have seen people in Kenya doing online shopping, she should have identify the place in Kenya, instead of giving the impression that majority of Kenya is like that, not being a Kenyans, I cannot speak for them, but based on what I have seen, it seems as if she doesn't know a lot of what is happening in her country, yes, give thanks for where you are now, but those videos that she showed about Kenya is so unflattering, and people who are not familiar with Kenya seeing them will believed that is what the country looks like.

@@Kakwasi didn't you read what I said that her experiences are different, but the way she portrayed Kenya was not nice, that is why I said she should be specific, I am not Kenyan, but I have watched many videos about Kenya by many Kenyan vloggers such as Ms. Trudy, African Traveller, Green Calabash, etc. Plus others that are not Kenyan, along with listening to Kenyan news outlet and while they tell you some of the problem Kenyans are experiencing, one can also see that Kenya is not only one of the fastest growing country in Africa, but also in the world. It is working to become a middle income country, and as I said give thanks for where you are, but don't make it appear that Kenya is a dump based on the videos that she showed in the vlog.

Majority of Kenyans are very well educated even the poor ones. Opportunities are just hard to get sometimes. Her vocabulary? What is that supposed to mean? Do people talk about your vocabulary? smh. Wait, because she is Kenyan she is not expected to have a good vocabulary? Well in Kenya most speak british Kenyan English which is taught in schools from Kindergaten all the way to campus and beyond including in the working sectors. Kenyans have accents depending on their mother tongues but a lot of those that were born in Nairobi capital city especially speak like Akinyi, fluent good English like she did on this video, and I am so proud of her. It's normal. But you saying her vocabulary tells she is well educated was weird. You can have an accent and still be well educated. That should not define ones education. I bet many Kenyans who have accent are more educated than yourself. lol. Wow! What a weird comment. Anyway, not surprising coming from an American. smdh.
