At 0:53 the statement that "the membrane is polarized because there are more positive ions outside the cell and more negative ions inside the cell" is incorrect, and could cause physiology students to miss questions on exams. There are far more chloride ions outside the cell than inside, and, though most cytoplasmic proteins are negative, they do not do much to establish the Resting Membrane Potential of about -70 millivolts. It is the difference in potassium ion level that is the major determinant of the RMP - there is more potassium inside the axon than outside.

The bio- electricity is just in few millivolts (mV). To split water molecules you'd require a voltage of few volts! Also these electrical impulses (action potential) are confined to neuronal membrane. It doesn't follow any arbitrary path! Also insulating material surrounding the axons called myelin prevent merging of impulses! Otherwise your whole neuro communication would collapse!
