I am on every other day and almost 2 years with my hernia but about a year and half with exercises. I have noticed the last week when I up the exercises to focus on the TA muscles its completely changed me to a level of almost normalcy. But still I am cautious and seeing it took you about 5 years , I think i have some time to go. It will be nice to get it to 3 times a week but no rush. Loving the no discomfort lately. Its funny , how its 4 steps foward and one back but the TA exercises have had me go like 10 steps forward. Hope it stays like that. 2 weeks ago before the TA focus I was back on the surgery wagon! lol, I thought I saw somewhere that you stopped wearing the belt, is that possible? and about when did that happen if its right. I am fine wearing it every day now that I have several of your belts and use the lighter one for light days and heavier one for more active days. Thanks again George , its a great group of people and being so helpful.

Yes, I no longer wear the belt except fro when I'm riding motocross, just as a precaution because riding is so unpredictable. Even though the Comfort-Truss is super comfortable, its so nice when you can finally go without wearing it. Just not having to depend on something feels really good. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the video, I have just started with the exercises and was wondering how many times per week should I be doing these. Also, I use the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to address the emotional aspects of having my hernia. Together EFT and exercising is already making a huge difference. Thanks again for all that you do in helping others with hernias.

I’m on my Seventh week doing these exercises and other wonderful advice from you. I use to have the hernia affect me with my intestines drooping down. I could not stand up and push it back in as I’ve heard you mention. But now, I can. The muscles are developing and I’m only experiencing a slight bulge. Sometimes in the morning I get up without the belt and everything is staying where it should for some time, but I’m too early to go without your belt for long. Whereas before each morning I got up a large amount would suddenly droop down. It’s all a matter of continuing and time. During my last workout I was not feeling well and tired, but I did the workout slowly and with a lot of rest. It took time, but I don’t want to miss a day, then 2 days rest. It is working!

I've been doing these exercises for the past month and have notice a big difference in the density and tightness of the tissue of the hernia area. My hernia journey has been going on for a little over two years now. One important factor along with the exercise program is weight loss. If you are 20 or more pounds over weight then you differently need to change your diet immediately. I would concentrate on weight loss before you begin any exercise program. It would make the program a lot more beneficial to you. Also, if you just got the hernia (up to 6 months) I would wait on the exercise program until you start to lose weight, notice the hernia has stabilized (not getting bigger) and have not experienced any pain in the area. Recently as of Decemer 2019 I began the Keto diet and have lost an amazing amount of weight, down 3 pant sizes, in under 4 months. So this has really made the exercise program much easier to begin and maintain. If for ANY reason you start to feel pain in and around the hernia area, you need to see a doctor IMMEDIATELY. If the pain is unbearable you need to go to the hospital as more than likely it has ruptured. I started doing the exercise program two times a week and then after the 4th week started doing them 3 times with the off days I'm doing a basic stretching exercise routine and taking Sat/Sun off. My hernia is now on the small size and getting better. Please feel free to ask me any questions.

I got stuck on your video about anterior pelvic tilt, tried to corrected it with excercises but no success. Ended up going to a chiropractor to help even out my hips. Im almost to the point where I can go back to the exercises from your videos which really help me feel that hernia area. I have also learned that I have to lift my legs lower in the exercises than you do, because of back pain and the tendency to tilt the pelvis when I go higher. Its easy to lose form and then all I do is cause more problems for myself. It would be great to get a whole video of just the excercises, both sides, all reps etc. in real time that I could play when I'm ready to work on the hernia. You could make a couple of them. Beginner, intermediate, advanced etc.

Hey George, really glad I saw this video! Not sure when you posted it, but I definitely haven't seen it before. I've been trying to do the exercises 5 times a week, but normally can only do 3 or 4 times a week because of my schedule. So I'll try just 2 times a week now & see how that works. Last year I had to take a couple months off doing the exercises to do physical therapy for my hip. (which started giving me problems around the same time I got the hernia). & then earlier this year took a month off when I was sick. I'm still a little concerned about my balls being so swollen. Doctor told me that was because liquid was running down the inguinal canal to my scrotum. If anyone as any ideas about this please let me know. Thanks George!

Oh Wow. I just came across your video. I have been living with an inguinal hernia for over twenty years. Only recently I applied to the health care system to have it repaired. I am overwhelmed by the list of risks associated with this procedure including using a mesh that can cause unbelievable complications and also found that there are so many law suits against some companies manufacturing these meshes. I am scared shitless to go through this surgery that I am booked for next week. I am pretty sure I will back out of this one. The only symptom I have is a bulge that I can push in. I do have a truss that I sort of put together myself, found it hard to get something comfortable to wear as I like to be active. Will check out your site and your other videos . Apart from my new two week old Inguinal hernia, that I created when I swallowed the wrong way, which made me cough excessively, unfortunately what I didn't know (doctor told when he was checking me) that this is one of the most common ways to create a Inguinal hernia. Coughing standing up straight apparently is as bad as not bending your knees while picking up a heavy weight, so you should always bend over when coughing or sit down, same with sneezing. Too late now, anyway I have the double whammy of also having a herniated lower back disk which I have always done core pilates everyday to compensate for this problem . And now I have this also to contend with but I am afraid to do pilates incase it exacerbates my Inguinal hernia but at the same time I'm also afraid not to do pilates, because when my back goes out the pain is totally debilitating, basically when my back goes out I end up on the floor and unable to move. The question that bothers me is what exercise should I not do as some of them may be detrimental to Inguinal hernia. A rough guide of exercises to avoid would be extremely valuable. Keep up the good work.

I wonder what the pulley system you use looks like. I also have the urge to do the excercises more than twice week... but I'm holding back doing all kinds of work because I don't want to cause this baby hernia to grow big. Mine has never really popped out fully but looks about marble size, Your belt seems to help . . . but this is new to me and feels so weird... I don't know what my limit is. My stepson has had an inquinal hernia for a few yrs and it's caused him to be pretty disabled as far as helping me with farm work. We have a small farm in Hawai'i and all the labor is left to me. I need to do a lot of hardcore weedeating to keep up with the guinea grass and other grasses here, which have been left to overgrow the past few months since I realized I have a double hernia. I wonder if weedeating with your heavy duty Comfort Truss on will harm or possibly help me. Another excercise I've avoided since realizing this hernia is starting is riding my bicycle. I had just bought a new bike before noticing this hernia and have decided not to cause this thing to worsen from bike riding, because my stepson has had to stop riding his bike since his hernia began. He tells me the bike is about the worst movement for him. So those are my questions. I'm gonna have to try weedeating (carefully) out of necessity. It might actually strengthen the muscles if I'm careful. So George... what is your opinion about riding a bike?
@MyNaturalHerniaCure
@MyNaturalHerniaCure Жыл бұрын
For me, the forward sitting position of riding a bike was the most vulnerable position to be in. It was impossible for me to keep the lump in at all. But with the comfort-truss on I could do anything I wanted. It changed everything for me. I don’t have to think about the hernia at all during any activity. Everyone’s situation is different though so it might give everyone that same level of confidence. If it doesn’t do that for you, you should keep trying to find something that does give that level of confidence. Living like you’re handicapped is not the answer. You’ll find yourself quickly spiraling down the road toward depression. My view has always been that if I was not able to continue all the activities that I love to do, with confidence, and without having the hernia on my mind every minute, then I would just take the chance and get surgery. Luckily I was able to have confidence once the comfort-truss was in place which allowed me to continue doing everything that makes me happy, and actually focus on healing. Also, I have talked to a guy who said he healed his hernia by making changes to his diet and riding a single gear bike uphill. He even showed me his ultrasound results from before and after. So like I said, everyone is different.

@@MyNaturalHerniaCure Thank you so much George! Both my step-son and I sincerely appreciate your thoughtful answer! Bike riding used to be a big part of our life! For several yrs in Hilo, two of our dogs that brought so much happy urban-mushing recreation. For several yrs in Hilo, we were the guys who had a pair of beautiful dogs pulling us all around town... from park to park. Huli is a super frisbee catcher... so it's really something he misses too. Crazy events in the summer of 2020 moved us out of our home (of 12 yrs) living right on Hilo Bay. We also used to paddleboard almost everyday... about 5 beach parks were in our range, where we'd go to play frisbee with Huli and to a degree, let his predator mamma Kalo hunt mongooses and excercise her hunting instinct. (she's Whippet/B. Malinois... Huli is half Labrador) Now we live up the mountain on our farm... the work this farm requires can be intense for me... and it's only been a few months since I've been super cautious not to make this new-found-beginning of a any hernia worse. I'm still new to this... so it's a bit hard to access what I can and can't do... though your Comfort Truss has certainly given me more confidence. I wear it all the time and have been doing most of the exercises you recommend. Still haven't gotten the weighted pulley system set up (would like to see how yours looks) and need to do more of the abdominal vaccum.... which is something I did when I was younger called: "uddiyana-bandha" in yoga. Also got out of the practice of doing the "Breath of fire" and "Nauli-kriya"... so this hernia situation is forcing me to get back into yoga... which is a great thing! So thank you again George! I haven't even tried a bike I just bought before finding out I had this double hernia... now I'm gonna try it! Really glad you included the testimonial about the guy who felt that riding a bike up a hill helped heal his hernia - we now live at the top of a hill! And it's time to explore our different options for the dogs to pull us around in this new location... it'll be rural-mushing. We don't live by the water anymore but I intend to make special trips back to Hilo to go back to our old mushing grounds at least a couple times a month... we had a few years that were totally amazing there. Now, thanks to the Comfort Truss you designed, we can try re-capping some of the fun we used to have almost daily from time to time. Big Mahalo! Hari

@nicolasporta2007
@nicolasporta2007 4 жыл бұрын
Drumwiz2001 Yes, you can take collagen suplements with vitamin C for better absortion, or just consume some vegetales like garlic and others rich in sulfur. Is very important kick the stress out, because is detrimental for the elastin. Here is the full information and the link fron the source. Let me know what do you think about it. Inguinal hernia is still today one of the entities that most frequently requires surgical treatment. The techniques for surgical repair are around 20% of all general surgery procedures. Although its etiology remains unclear, there seem to be many contributing factors added to an individual predisposition. The aetiology of inguinal hernia involves changes in the expression of different extracellular matrix constituents, affecting especially at the level of the transversalis fascia (TF), such as collagen, elastic component and Metalloproteinases (MMPs). This work aims to make a review of all the alterations that affect connective tissue and the extracellular matrix, which take place at the level of the inguinal region. In previous studies, we were able to demonstrate the overexpression of MMP-2 in the transversalis fascia of young patients with direct inguinal hernia correlated with the overexpression of TGF-beta1 showing an attempt to counterbalance the enhanced matrix degradative process observed in these patients. At the level of the elastic tissue of the TF, direct inguinal hernia patients show low levels of tropoelastin (TE), precursor to the elastin molecule and lysyl oxidase like-1 (LOXL-1), enzyme involved in cross-linking of elastin. In contrast, these patients showed significantly higher elastase expression, main enzyme involved in the process of degradation of elastin. Significantly lower LOXL-1 mRNA levels were also observed in cells obtained from the TF of patients with direct inguinal hernia. All these alterations highlight a disorder at the level of the extracellular matrix of connective tissue in patients with inguinal hernias, which together with other exogenous factors (smoking, mechanical stress, aging of tissues...) would partly explain the genesis of this pathology. this is the source (spanish) www.elsevier.es/es-revista-revista-hispanoamericana-hernia-357-articulo-alteraciones-matriz-extracelular-del-tejido-X2255267713855796

@@nicolasporta2007 thanks for the information. I have seerched a bit and many articles show that there is a link between inguinal hernia and problem in collagen metabolism. Some of those articles were from the 1970s, so it is known for a while ( for example, this 1974 study: sci-hub.se/10.1016/0022-4804(74)90155-3 ). In the article you have posted above, they say that a low activity of the Lysyl oxidase enzyme is detrimental for collagen and elastin formation. I checked about this enzyme, and it seems that it needs, for proper functioning, the presence of some copper ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysyl_oxidase#Biological_function : it is said that rats with a copper-deficient diet develop symptoms of less resistant collagen and elastin because this LOX enzyme is less active). So, in addition to collagen, vitamin C and Lysin, I will check if I get enough copper from my diet ( www.healthline.com/nutrition/foods-high-in-copper#TOC_TITLE_HDR_6 ). However, I cannot change my genes, I can just try to help improve my collagen "quality" as much as possible.

So i have a question , i know you are not a doctor, but since you had the inguinal hernia experience i would like to ask you and it would be appreciated if you reply back with an answer , but 3 weeks ago i had an ultrasound, based on my first ultrasound the doc said that i got an indirect inguinal hernia on my left side and that i needed a surgery , after that i went to the surgeon and he said lets re do it again, so i made another ultrasound the practitioner said i have weak tissues down there , while the surgeon said i have a 1 cm of a hernia an indirect inguinal hernia . He first said that i needed a surgery , but on my second ultrasound he went in my lower right abdomen and he said that my appendix has to be removed because its little enlarged and inflamed and had some stones and stool while i didnt have any symptoms . Anyways i had a CT scan for my abdomen , and then they confirmed that i had to remove my appendix , so i had the appendix surgery two weeks ago and then i asked him about hernia he said it is not worth a surgery and it is so small like 1 or 1.5 cms . It is not even a hernia . Should i worry about it ? And btw i have sent my ct scans to other docs and they said i dont have hernia so idk which one to believe ! I have no lump , pump , or plug And im a really active sporty , i do muay thai and im never off the gym . Just when my doc said i had hernia i have stopped everything a month ago . Please let me know whats the best . As i cant get rid of thinking of that hernia shit . Like my major focus when doing anything is focusing on my inguinal area, groin and balls and shit since im scared of that . Thank you in advance and looking forward to hear from you :))

Obviously I can’t tell you what to do, but if I were in your situation, I would make sure that I was taking care of all the root causes of the hernia. Especially making sure to eat foods that don’t cause gas bloating or swelling, and doing the strengthening exercises. If you do nothing the hernia will eventually get worse and worse until you do actually need surgery. Also if you do nothing, that feeling of helplessness and worry will just get worse and your quality of life will go to shit. Believe me, I’ve been there. It sucks.
