George... I just wanted to thank you, and commend you for your resolve. My Inguinal Hernia appeared about 8 weeks ago. Having an extensive history in medical device engineering, I had a suspicion what it was, but at 62 I felt I preferred professional confirmation. I saw my family doctor, and he confirmed my own diagnosis, and then sent me to see a surgeon. I'm very analytical and so my mind works in a way that may be atypical for many. My first and primary question to both doctors was regarding "causality". I wanted to know what it was that I did, or didn't do, to create this situation. My family doctors response was the very thing you wrote in your newsletter. The second, the surgeon was more terse and a bit arrogant in his response. After his examination, he asked, "So, do you have any questions?" I responded, "Yes, actually... I'm interested in understanding causality. In my line of work it isn't enough to just fix problems, but to find a way to avoid them in the future." His response absolutely floored me (and frankly is the reason that even if I do decide on surgery I will not use him). What he said was, "You seem to be well informed on the medical aspects of inguinal hernia, I don't think I could provide anything further insight there. However, when it comes down to it, it doesn't really matter... does it? We are here now!" Keep up the good work... The exercises and the belt have helped immensely. I have 4 days out of the week where, as long as I do not over-excerpt, my hernia doesn't appear at all. The other 3 are very disheartening, and makes me believe I may have to go down the surgical repair route... Not a fan! Knowing your journey gives me hope and mental strength... Thank you for your forethought on putting all this information in one place... S2

It’s unbelievable that they don’t even care to know the causality, which is probably why the reoccurrence rate for hernia repairs is so high. They do nothing to fix the root underlying causes, then slap a bandaid on the problem and call it a day. It’s a true failure. I guess there’s only certain types of people that care about learning what caused a problem so that the causes can be rectified to alleviate symptoms, and others are fine with the bandaid approach. I think maybe a combination of both would be beneficial if surgery is the route taken. Good luck with everything.

Crazy to think you understand a problem when you don't even know the cause! I had a similar conversation with my father's heart surgeon about calcification. "We don't really know" Was the answer... Sent me on my journey to find out why. Now I fully understand that and many other causes of human ailments and diseases and what a difference! Glad you didn't lay down for BS!

George - Thank you for developing the Comfort Truss hernia belt. I just competed in Ironman Panama City Beach Florida on November 4 wearing your belt (I completed 138 of the 140.6 mile race in 16hrs 30 min for which I recieved a DNF designation). Short version is i developed a golf ball size hernia in mid August this year while doing box jumps during training for the race. I was devastated and angry at myself for pushing too hard in training and feared that after 12 months of training my race was over. I found your videos online and immediately purchased a Comfort Truss. It allowed me to continue training and compete in my first Ironman. I am 61 years old and really not much of an athlete. I plan on following your exercise plan to heal my hernia. I am grateful that you are out here speaking the truth and helping people stay away from surgery and a life of inactivity. I don’t know how else to thank you. God Bless you. Stay tuned ; I plan on doing another Ironman and finishing. All the Best, Mark

I’ve had all 5 of these symptoms for the past 2 years. Hernia mesh inserted 2 years ago, then something tore weeks after surgery and pain ever since. Partial hernia mesh removal 2 weeks ago but I am doubtful. No visible hernia but the area still feels like a hernia inside. Really gets you down. Stumbled onto your channel today. Will order a belt, do your exercises and change these 5 symptoms I have never addressed. Hate living in constant pain, really does get you down, and doctors just want to operate.

Turns out I had a good hunch on the possible solutions looking at yours; reinforcing the muscles around the area and changing of diet. Thank you very much for going through the trails and errors to look for a solution. This is greatly motivating.

Hey George, if you haven't come across this, I think you will find the physiology of breathwork with extended exhales of much use, esp in the eradication of the deep social unease virtually everyone suffers to some degree. See Anders Olsson's book titled Conscious Breathing or just watch his interview by John Douillard for a quicker discussion. In a nutshell, long exhales leave extra CO2 in the blood which quickly shifts blood pH away from excess alkalinity, which in turn allows the tissues everywhere in the body to actually absorb more oxygen, and thus heal themselves much more effectively. Shallow breathing accompanies stress hand in hand, of course, etc etc...Best wishes again and thanks for your great service to the community!

@@MyNaturalHerniaCure hello again George! Thanks to your cues about pelvic tilts, and finding that my slight but habitually chronic, anterior tilt has been leaving me with a relatively flaccid lower abdominal muscle tone, has been a game changer! I now more or less constantly hold that area in what feels like a neutral position for me, that requires a firm but comfortable hold, while standing, sitting, and esp walking both while working at carpentry and just to consciously walk. At the same time I combine a series of up to 30-second (or more) exhales (when seated, less when active) and then do a BIG inhale every now and then and hold THAT for as long as i comfortably can (to hyper- saturate all tissues with oxygen, feels indescribably great!) while rotating neck back and forth, doing shoulder rolls, raising chin repeatedly up and down, and whatever else feels good to loosen the trapezoid and sternocleido (spelling?) muscles and oxygenate the cranial nerves of the brain stem. Doing so seems to awaken the vagus nerve which tends to further deepen the breath naturally. Highly recommend Stanley Rosenberg's book, Accessing the Healing Power of the Vagus Nerve for in-depth discussion and hands-on techniques. Best wishes bro, lemme know how you do with this!

Thanks George! There's another one of the main reasons - being a man. Neil Shubin talks about it in his book "Your Inner Fish: A Journey into the 3.5-Billion-Year History of the Human Body". The fact is that at the embryonic stage in boys the testes descend from the abdomen into the scrotum and leave behind them a small hollow space, like a tunnel, which is very conducive to hernias.

Just got my first comfort truss heavy duty belt and it is MUCH more comfortable that the one I had tried before my only suggestion is to possibly create a skirt of material that is very soft to extend around areas of the Velcro to prevent any unwanted contact of the hooks side of the velcro especially along the edges. 74 years old. I take no meds, no sugar, no salt. Been doing leg lifts at wake up in bed for years. ABs are rock hard and I still popped a stupid right side inguinal. No doubt in my mind that it was caused by the onset of dry rock hard constipation. I eat lots of soluble and insoluble fiber from natural single ingredient food and still got constipated. I don't believe pressing for a BM caused my hernia. I think it was the pressure of the constant large hard stools in my lower colon that caused the hernia in the first place. Touch your navel to your spine is an old exercise learned in the Air Force many years ago. I have been doing these and others for a long time. Here is my take away, prevent an inguinal hernia by keeping your bowels moving freely by whatever means it takes for you personally. If prunes and apples work for you do it every day. If you need med assistance for awhile, do it. Study and try different foods and methods and when you find the one that works for your body stay with it. For me I think stopping salt, sugar and alcohol contributed to my constipation but it stopped high bp so it is a tradeoff. Whatever works for you stay with it. One thing that surprised me in this experience is the large number of very young men that have this inguinal hernia.

Too much fiber can CAUSE constipation because it bulks up the stool too large. I started getting constipated even though I ate a lot of fiber and took fiber supplements. A good book to read is Fiber Menace. I don't eat much fiber anymore, especially high FODMAPs and don't take fiber supplements. I poop twice a day and most of the time the stool slides out nice and easy with little to nothing to wipe. I take acidophilus and eat fermented foods every day like yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, pickles and kombucha. Good luck.

My hernia really started during the process of moving abroad. I noticed a small lump. For more than 5 years before that I had lost 45 pounds and had been doing vigorous weight training, cycling and surfing. I didn’t have a trainer and I avoided abdominal exercises due to irritation of a back problem, a recessed L4 vertebrae. I used to really power it in the gym, e.g. standing bicep curls with 50 lbs in each hand. I’d consume 5 espressos daily and have a large energy drink, like RockStar plus an ibuprofen before working out. So, this really inflamed the stomach lining. I ate a Paleo diet. The stress of moving to a foreign country alone , with an intractable language to learn, a broken romantic relationship , exacting logistic issues of relocating, etc resulted in further development of the hernia coupled with severe gastritis soon upon arrival. I cut my meals by 70% and avoided coffee entirely. The hernia was smaller however , relative to the past 3 months . I think the acidic stomach and hernia work together to aggravate the situation . During the quarantine the gastritis symptoms disappeared as there was less environmental and social stress to adapt to. Afterwards, unfortunately, the hernia started protruding daily. I think the chief causes currently are over extending in the gym, working out too hard (I’m 56, so recovery isn’t as easy), excessive caffeine, lack of dietary fiber, any booze beyond a few drinks weekly, certain foods like cured meats , etc. It’s important to eat foods that reduce inflammation and restore PH balance because when the intestine swells, it starts pushing out. I notice nearly simultaneous occurrence of acidic stomach pain and resultant hernia increase, though sometimes it arises just as the result of larger portion size.
@MyNaturalHerniaCure
@MyNaturalHerniaCure 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. Yes definitely I agree. Diet has the fastest effect on the hernia because as soon as there is excess gas or intestinal swelling the abdominal contents will find the path of least resistance which is the weakness in the inguinal musculature.

@@MrNTR1 Hi! Sooo I went to the gp because I have varicocele around my testicles/spermatic cords (nice right? 😅). They turned out to be fine but the gp made me do a cough test whilst pressing on my stomach and said the tissue wasn’t quite responding as it should so advised me to investigate further. It took quite awhile getting all the necessary scans done (1 year and a half, last 6 months during covid) but all was done on the nhs. Had it done at Leighton Hospital Crewe by Dr Magdi Hanafi, who is somewhat of an expert at microscopic sugery mesh repairs like I had done 👍 No known causes of the inguinal hernia, it wasn’t very big and I think it was just a slight bit of fat tissue poking through. I was probably just vulnerable there since birth and made slightly worse from working out, gardening and 3 years of bricklaying study at college. Sat here writing this nearly a year after operation I can’t even tell the mesh is there, just two smallish sugical scars visible 🤓👌

This is great stuff and I also have an ungenial hernia. Would you be willing to get a scan to see if you actually healed it? According to science, you would be the first person to have ever healed his hernia without surgery so wouldn't you want that proof?
@MyNaturalHerniaCure

I don’t really care what a scan would tell me as long as I can with my life as if I don’t have a hernia which I can. I live the proof every day, so a scan would make no difference in my life. Well I've got two root causes that you missed. One is driving. All that time you spend with your right foot controlling your speed lets the tension build up to your hip. And the other is metal belt buckles which dig into you right there especially when you sit down to eat. HTH.

Well thanks for the info hope my hernia is no big deal.

Hi. Has anyone completely cured their hernia with your exercise system? How long did it take? Do you have to do the exercises indefinitely or can you get to a point where they are no longer necessary?
@MyNaturalHerniaCure
@MyNaturalHerniaCure 2 жыл бұрын
Not sure if I’m 100% “cured”, but I am 100% asymptomatic, which to me is all that matters. I can live my life as if I don’t have a hernia. I think the exercises would be necessary at some level for ever, but not at the same intensity that I was doing when trying to get the lump to go away. It becomes a lifestyle change anyway, and I really wouldn’t want to completely stop doing them since I know they are working to counter the things that cause a hernia.

Hi George, I am 45 and underwent a right inguinal surgery 8 yrs ago...last week while playing tennis experienced a groin pain and felt like something popping out.. Next day happened to get a scan done and it seems to be at both sides now... I have since got on fasting - liquid diet for a week now and reduced few pounds... I have started wearing the belt too. I do not have any pain and very little bulge on right side. I am having aloe vera juice, castor oil and other natural remedies... I have been on keto and 24 hrs intermittent fasting since 3 yrs now and with my new fasting regime plan to reduce another 8 kilos in next 2 months... I am 76 kilos now... Am I heading right, don't want to get into surgery, want to get back to my sport...

Everyone is different, so I can’t tell you if what you’re doing is right, but I would just make sure that anything you’re doing in regards to diet does not cause bloating, gas or constipation. I know castor oil can be rough on the intestines. For me it was very important to make sure that I was getting enough protein in my diet to sustain muscle development in the inguinal canal, which could be a problem with fasting, but I don’t know all that much about because I’ve never done it.
@playeradithya
@playeradithya 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply George, just to add that intermittent fasting and keto have helped me a lot over the past on handling diabetes and other health issues.... Will take your advice and add fat, protein and fibre to my diet as part of my keto avoiding the carbs... Fasting has done wonders in curing ailments for ages and strongly believe that it would assist me in the healing process...My castor oil and aleovera intake too is limited, will start off with the exercises once I reach the desired weight and also go ahead with the comfort belt designed by you... You are a true inspiration for people like us going through this difficult phase in life... Will keep everyone informed on the progress....Take care Sir

Yes, If you do not have a good way to hold the hernia in place ( hernia truss) while jogging or walking, the constant pounding of your feet on the ground will cause the hernia to put more pressure on the weakness in the abdomen and cause the hernia to get bigger.
