Amen. And it is Biblical in its nature yet there are people out there being manipulated by satan to try and stall the regrowth of His church. Remember what I’m saying, there is only one reason to tell people not to watch, stop the spread of Our Only Hope Faith in the blood of Christ and the presence of His Holy Spirit
@joachim595 Жыл бұрын
Yes. And since what we witness is so much more of how people try to making sure their faith is perfect and the results of that being the church growing farther apart than it already is, then maybe we should celebrate this getting together and agreeing on basic Christianity as something coming from God. Few seem concerned with the sin of keeping the church shattered into all our different groups we reside in.

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 Scripture interprets Scripture. The single most important message of all prophets to their people was to worship God alone and none else and to follow His teachings. All of them, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Jesus, Muhammad and others, in addition to those we do not know - invited people to worship God and shun false gods. Moses declared:"Hear, O Israel The Lord our God is one Lord."(Deuteronomy 6:4). This was repeated 1500years later by Jesus, when he said: "The first of all the commandments is, ‘Hear, O Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord.’(Mark 12:29) So, the greatest commandment, the most important belief according to Jesus, is that God is one. If Jesus was God he would have said, ‘I am God, worship me.’ Instead, he merely repeated a verse from the Old Testament confirming that God is One. Jesus did not say, "I am God." There is not a single text in the Bible. Jesus says, "I am God." He said more than thirty times that he is a prophet and messenger. He said he's human more than 82 times. This is what the Qur'an says that Jesus is the Messenger of God. This aligns with the mission of Jesus, as taught in Islam, where Jesus was sent to the Children of Israel to confirm the message of the past Prophets - to believe in the One True God. most Christians nowadays believe in trinity.. Jesus said i came not to destroy the commandments of moses i came just to fulfill. Muslims reject the Christian belief that God is a Trinity, not only because the Quran rejects it, but also because if this was God’s true nature, He would have clearly revealed it to Abraham, Noah, Jesus and all of the other prophets. ISLAM is the submission in worship to Allah Alone and it is the essence of all the Messages sent to all nations before us. Allah is All-Just and All-Wise. It is free from geographical, racist, and status oriented concepts. It is Perfect and it is the complete way of life. All these qualities are chosen by Allah in His Only Religion: Islam. Its details are in in the Qur’an, read it and come with an open heart because none can expose better than the World of Allah. The Qur’an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad. He did not author it. Season one worked; it came an spoke to my heart, season two came with anticipation, so when the drama of the disciples continued, I was looking forward to a strong Jesus “moment”. The last episode where a stage was built so Jesus looked like a rockstar coming out from behind soured the experience for me. Very ani-climactic. A put off!!!

May the Lord return. Amen. God is merciful. He always forgives. Never be ashamed to take your failures to him. He is for you, not against you! God is with you in the storm. He knows your troubles, he hears you! He is for you, on your side, always! It may feel silent at times, but he’s holding you close! May the Lord return soon! We are drawing closer. He is coming! Believe and trust in the Lord, you will be saved. Period. May the Lord bless you all! Hang in there family. Stay strong. It is not easy following the Lord. We are scoffed at. We give up our earthly dreams, our fleshly desires. What the enemy offers is short lived, but heaven is forever! Life may seem or be unfair, but God is with you! Always remember that. Things may get better or worse for you, but a kingdom awaits you! Finish the race! Repent daily and carry your cross. This world is fading fast. Your troubles are temporary! New channel here, I’d appreciate any kind of support. Don’t give up! God loves you so much! So do I. The Lord bless you!!

This IS such a beautiful show and so needed "FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS" but we ALWAYS have to remember that (for now) that fallen punk angel the devil IS the God of earth! So why would people lay the blame at Father God's feet for suffering? When it's the ENEMY constantly attacking us and our bodies, it's the only way he can get back at God! So isn't funny that when we are suffering THAT'S when we reach to The Lord the most aggressively!? Until we learn and understand we should be reaching out to Him DAILY! And spending our time with Him and STANDING ON THE WORD AND PROMISES EVERYDAY! God Bless you all The Chosen family 🙏❤

Yes!! The Old Testament flashbacks! As a starting out Christian it was strongly on my heart to read the whole Bible and start from the beginning, that was the fire God laid on my heart, to build up my foundation. I started in Genesis 3 years ago and am just now on Ezekiel (I think the table of contents if you will is different, it depends on factors, I couldn’t tell you the one that’s in my Bible to be able to pinpoint my progress)…and in the Chosen, every flashback, I get it right away…the only one I struggled with was Moses and Joshua with the serpent on the cross. Hmm completely off topic but I would like some serpent shoes so that everywhere I tread is squashing … you get the idea.

Had to pause the video and comment… In regards to healing the withered hand before/after eating the grain - I wouldn’t have known which happened first in the Bible. And unless someone asked me, I probably wouldn’t have given it any more thought after watching that episode. But now that it’s been discussed, I won’t forget it. I think the storyline flowed smoothly in the show, so it worked for that purpose. But I believe that God knew Dr. Huffman was a bit uncomfortable with it being “wrong,” so he was given a chance set things straight. And because I’m also a stickler for details, God made sure I found this video. Don’t you just love how super-cool our God is?!?!

"As long as The Chosen makes people read their bible more carefully...." I think tHAT ↑ is the 'anointinting' of The Chosen. That seeing the dramatized portrayal of the history recorded in the scriptures will inspire people's hearts to seek to know more about Jesus and know the choice provided to them to accept Him as Lord. Dallas has people who can and want to, "pay it forward" monetarily, for the production of this series. We should all also 'pRAY it forward'. Pray for The Chosen to be used according to God's Will to teach the gospel and draw everyone to seek the truth of God's Word in the bible. Pray it forward for everyone who sees anything of The Chosen. Pray that they will "come and see". Pray that they will hear and receive and accept God's Word. Pray that they wiLL fall in love with Jesus who is God, our Lord, and Who was the sacrifice that paid our sin debt death penalty so that we can be "saved" out of condemnation, and redeemed and restored to eternity in God's Presence and Provision. 🙏

I believe it important to understand that Jesus was an observant Jew living under the Old Covenant in the law of Moses… The vast majority of the Gospel story takes place under the Old Covenant … The New Covenant does not begin until Jesus cries out, “It is finished!”, from the cross… The modern church has long since lost its Jewish roots which is tragic… its people do not know where they come from in many respects… most tragically this has led to antisemitism in the church throughout history since before the crusades to the present day…

He does not intend confusion for His Creation. The religion accepted to Him is the one chosen by Him. Its essence must be One, because He is One. He was unlettered. Its translation is available in many languages in bookstores or in an Islamic Center close to you. Take the time to read it and come/call the Islamic Center, or speak to someone who re-verted and submitted to Allah Alone. I’m remembering season episode one and how young Mary was already what looks to be 7 or 8 by the time scholars say that Jesus was born? Does the Bible say that Mary was older than him or imply it? That is one of those things that doesn’t really matter in the story, just a thought that sparked because of the topic of this video. I’m only 2 minutes in, so they might address it.

There is a book by Francine Rivers, still historical fiction, about five "bad" women in the geneology of Jesus. Francine Rivers is an amazing Christian writer but she also aims at "plausible". I read her book some time ago and am not sure about Mary's age but suspect Joseph was older and she was about thirteen or fourteen, not seven or eight. I'm no expert.

I loved Rabbi Sobel's expression, "people settle for half an inheritance," and Dr. Huffman's note that the OT and Jesus "make the best sense" each of the other. And was glad to hear the scriptwriters were ready to sacrifice an exciting idea in service to authenticity--they must sometimes feel like Abraham sacrificing his son when they edit out a dramatic and well crafted scene, and I'm grateful their humility matches that of the consultants. Speaking of humble, although I'm greatly looking forward to hearing Bishop Barron, I hope Fr. Guffee knows how much his insights and manner of sharing were appreciated in the first season! Thanks to all three of you for your dedication to the essential and broadmindedness in the service of artistic expression--the results are jewels of great quality!

It makes me sad that the Jews think the Catholics don't see Jesus as a Jew. In the Bible classes I've been taking that train of thought is now being flipped. That we, as Catholics, need to be reminded that Jesus is a Jew, and his disciples are also Jewish, and we need to see things from their point of view, to better understand the Gospels. The Old Testiment is fulfilled in the New Testiment. I can understand that not all Catholics see it that way, but growing up Catholic in the 21st century there is a pivot from forgetting Jesus's roots and where he came from. I honestly believe it's part of the revival that Pope John Paul II tried to start.

On the subject of bringing out the Jewish aspects I agree that this is a good thing because you can't fully understand without that. I would say that previous productions have not been entirely lacking in this though. The Anthony Burgess scripted Jesus of Nazareth and Anno Domini (which is basically Acts of the Apostles, Pauline Epistles and plenty of wider 1st century Roman and Jewish history for context), also did this well, they just had a less diverse cast . A very good cast though, and other high quality aspects. The Chosen is also good though, and somewhat a more modern version of that show, with a more casual take (with the Americanism dialogue lol).

Dallas said that this was not a replacement for scripture. It is a story that includes events from the gospels. The only part I question is how Jesus practiced the Sermon on the Mount. It's possible that He did, but not likely. He told them to not premeditate what they would say if called before magistrates. The Holy Spirit would speak through them. I'm sure Jesus was much more open to the Spirit than any other human. That is not a deal breaker. Most of the show has been true to scripture, when it is scripture. As a fiction story that includes actual events from scripture, it is a very good show.

I 100% agree. I've been in the ministry for almost 30 years, and when I'm really walking close with God I don't even have to take a single note and I can easily preach for hours and nobody blinks. When it's over my humanity looks back and says what just happened. There is no way that Jesus practiced a sermon. I also caught the rabbi saying that Jesus got sick like other people do. That is absolutely impossible. The law promised whoever would obey it perfectly would not get sick. Jesus is the only one who has ever done that so there is no way he ever got sick.
