So glad to read your comment Sister Linda! I first heard about The Chosen from Father Mark Goring and I too fell in love with it like so many. I have recommended The Chosen to my family members and to anyone else who would listen. This show is unique and I'm certain it's drawing people to our LORD JESUS rather than pushing them away as some claim. It will be wonderful to think a Nun is watching The Chosen with me everytime I watch. I can visualize the whole lineup of the greats of all time watching with all of us....Santa Teresa of Ávila , St. Faustina Kowalska, St. Therese, the little Flower etc. Please Pray a bead for me when you pray your Rosary. It's my all-time favorite Prayer and I don't go a day without praying the full 4 Mysteries since I discovered its efficacy in beating back the darkness that evil throws at us day after day. I stuggled with porn addiction too. Shame kept me lying, hiding and not repenting. Openness and honesty have helped me to turn to Christ for healing and forgiveness. I appreciate The Chosen series. See, people need to know that Christians, GOOD PEOPLE do bad things. The unsaved world needs to know that Christians aren't perfect and *never claim to be*, and other Christians need to know that sin is still a part of being human and we shouldn't feel so much shame that we become paralyzed and sink deeper, instead of addressing our issues and healing. This is why it's good for Dallas to mention is former porn addiction.

The key for me to overcome carnal sin was fear of the Lord. Also the principle NOPE (Not One Peek Even) is a good principle along with ”first look cannot be avoided but the next one you should avoid”. Applying these principles will feel like cutting your flesh with a sword but (hard to describe it in any other way), but as you force yourself (because of fear of the Lord and of gratitude of what Jesus did on the cross) and crucify your flesh it feels really great when then challenges have passed. Eventually, lesser sins will be more clear as the carnal sin seems to cloud all other sins and also your brain will be rewired in a way that in the future, you will look at beautiful women differently (don’t challenge yourself on that too early though).

Jesus's "too soon??" line made me burst into laughter. I've had it a number of times where I'm casually talking to God and I hear God answer me sarcastically or He jokes around with me. Yes! God definitely has a sense of humor. I always find myself reminding people, we are made in God's image. And so, humor definitely came from God too. But ever since Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the tree of knowledge instead of the tree of life, humans fell and we take alot of what God has given us so graciously especially free will, a tremendous gift from our father in heaven, way too far and extremes. Humor was supposed to be fun but people being people, we take it a little too far and too much with it. Joking about almost everything even things that aren't really supposed to be joked about but taking it in stride is one way to respond or not at all to inappropriate humor. But I wouldn't encourage it. Haha. However, humor is definitely alright and I am not about that woke BS or am I about whatever the world is, but whatever God is about that's what I am all about too. And humor is from God, whatever that's fine with God, so am I with it. And God really has a great sense of humor. I have a lot of ridiculous puns and at times boring humor that people may not find as funny but there are people who does and God definitely does. When He doesn't, He will let me know 😅😁.

The Season 3 finale is a masterpiece. The parallel thematic use of water at the end was deeply moving emotionally and spiritually and intellectually and aesthetically satisfying. To me, this series is on par with cinema classics, and I think it surpasses all other TV and streaming drama series I’ve seen in terms of writing, production and cinematography. This world keeps trying to draw me away and sometimes it can be so appealing. One of my FAVORITE things about the Chosen is the humor that is in the script! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THINKING ABOUT THE IDEA THAT THE SAVIOR SMILES, LAUGHS, AND CAN HAVE A FUN SENSE OF HUMOR! Also, I have watched alot of movies with actors portraying the role of the Savior, and the actor you have on the Chosen is my FAVORITE! His facial expressions and the true love and compassion that he shares through the way he looks at the people that he is helping, causes me to feel extremely deep emotions within myself....good stuff!!

The show is inspired. It is extraordinary in its excellence. Every part of this production shines. Every single member of the cast is perfect. Jonathan doesn’t have to carry anything. The bts clips and stories reveal the complexity of producing this show. Frequently, they reveal God’s hand. Dallas tells stories about the miracles of The Chosen in all humility. The irony of the haters is that they profess themselves to be defenders of the Faith but the message of the Bible is Love.

You might try watching Zeffirelli's 'Jesus of Nazareth", or even Mel Gibson's 'The Passion". Both if these are much better representations of the true 'authentic' Christ. I really don't think MR. Jenkins can save your soul, so I hope you aren't counting on him for that!

@@agavegrove The only way to know what Jesus is like... is to read the Bible. Unfortunately the Chosen takes a great deal of 'artistic license' with their narrative concerning Jesus and his followers.

@@RodneyHaltom In the 3 years of Jesus' ministry, the Bible doesn't reveal everything that was said. Any depiction must take artistic license, or else the series is going to only last an hour. To give the actors of The Jesus film British accents was certainly artistic license. Also, the production team has been up front about this being historic drama. However they've gone to great lengths to make sure it's historically and textually accurate. The Passion didn't do that. I'd argue that reading the Bible isn't the only way, but the primary way. We also learn about the love of Jesus through other Believers, what the Holy Spirit lays on us, other teachers, and through His Creation. While the written Word is the measuring stick, it's not the only way. And Dallas and crew haven't violated the key tenets of the faith. What The Chosen has done is no different than reading a Matthew Henry commentary or other such commentary. We're experience one persons' depiction of what happened, just as a sermon/commentary is one person's opinion of what the Bible is saying.

However, after over fifty years studying and preaching the Gospel, I have a hard time watching the show because of the many near New Age references they portray, and the horrendously fake Mideastern accents they are using, just rub me the wrong way. Sorry, that is just my opinion and I hope you get what you can out of the 'show' ! For me it is more fiction than fact, and when searching for truth I prefer a more Biblical interpretation of the Gospel.

And then I became an Urgent Care technician and then an ER technician. It wasn't fun, but for the first time In my working life I faced serious criticism. I finally had a job that truly mattered. The only thing The Chosen has done for me is bringing me closer to Jesus and make me more curious about getting back into reading the Bible. Oh I can also say that watching it is fantastic and even if alot of things in the episodes didn't come from the Bible, who are we to say "that never happened" we weren't there. I don't understand the hate, I'm willing to bet the farm Jesus is happy the show is bringing people back or closer to him. If making the show was to bring people closer to Jesus you have accomplished your goal. Period. I do not know if the movie is perfect scripturally but it helped me to understand the days Christ lived in and how he had a sense of humor and sense of destiny and FIRE... Ignore all but constructive critism and suggestions. Some people have a critical spirit.... An actual indwelling spirit, and are prodded by it... They probably are not aware. I would like people to stop saying the pope is the anti-christ. Where does this come from? I don't think any pope is perfect (infallible is different than perfect), but I do believe they are holy and act in the best interest of the church. Yes, if you go far back in history, there have been bad popes, but that is a small number out of the overall total. There are Protestant preachers who have also been bad, both in modern times and in past decades/centuries. Sorry, just had to vent!

Many Catholics are born again believers, my husband & I being 2 of them, and many non-catholic churchgoers are not born again - it’s the same in every church and you will not find a church completely free of error, because they are comprised of HUMANS. If Ravi Zacharias, master of logic, can deceive himself like that for decades … that’s a lesson to remember how pride (and sin in general) can blind us. Mary deserves our respect, which of us could endure all that she did? Jesus himself gave the disciples power to forgive sins (plus more Matthew 18:18) & the RCC just carries that on. There are many graces in the sacraments. Didn’t Paul the Apostle say to teach Christ crucified (1 Cor 1:23 & 2:2)? But, yes, I understand that w/o the resurrection, the crucifixion doesn’t matter. I did listen to JM for years as a new Christian and I just don’t agree with everything he says regarding the RC church & mass. As good as JM is, he does get some things wrong, as does every human who ever lived. He also totally rejects anything charismatic, but not all Christian leaders are in agreement.

I think one of the great strengths of "The Chosen" is the unifying influence it's having with Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox circles. I love it that an Evangelical Protestant director and a devout Catholic playing the lead role can produce such a great series on the life of Christ. It shows what can happen when we work together. I'm all about unity among Christians as well. I love enthusiasm for the unity this show is bringing, and also how you're not trying to elevate one branch above the other as superior. I'm a mere Christian that has delved into Catholicism and rubbed shoulders (w/ lots of debates) w/ Catholics. Our theological divides run deep, even among protestants too. It's so refreshing to see them cast aside as nowhere near as important as Christ our Redeemer and the saving gospel that unites us all.

I don't understand all the comments about the Catholic Church? I was raised Catholic but came to realize that it's not about any church, it's about being a born-again Christian! I think The Chosen is absolutely wonderful! It's so helpful and important for people to be able to relate to the human side of Jesus! I believe we will catch more fish that way! This is the best depiction of Jesus' life that I have ever seen and I can't wait to own the whole thing on DVD! If you do not see the human side of Jesus in the bible, then you must ask yourself why because it is where He is revealed as the God-man (human). The longest prayer in the bible is recorded in John 17 and every person who has ever lived since the earthly ministry of Christ is in that beautiful prayer. ------- The chosen takes great liberties in personification of Jesus and the disciples. The problem comes into play when it contradicts the scripture, such as Jesus continuously consulting his mother on important decisions contrary to scripture. Consulting Matthew with the sermon on the mount is another example. ---- "I believe it will catch more fish that way" - Again read John 17 from Jesus lips. ALL THAT THE FATHER GIVES TO ME will come to ME and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. - John 6 v 37 John 17:2 For You granted Him authority over all people, so that He may give eternal life TO ALL THOSE WHO YOU HAVE GIVEN HIM (Jesus). (Believers are chosen by God the Father and given to God the Son as a love gift.) John 17:6 I have revealed Your name TO THOSE YOU HAVE GIVEN ME out of the world. They were Yours; You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. (They were Yours (Father), but you gifted them to Me (Son)) John 17:9 I ask on their behalf. I do not ask on behalf of the world, but on behalf of THOSE YOU HAVE GIVEN ME; for they are Yours. (Again the exact same affirmation and note the tenderness of our Savior toward those to whom the Father has given Him)

I’ve just finally started watching it. I devoured the first two seasons. That scene with Jesus and Nicodemus had me sobbing. I’m now onto season 3 and just finished the episode where Jesus sends out the twelve. That scene around the table was beautiful and then of the disciples huddling together quoting scripture and singing praises. It’s all so heavy and so beautiful! Thank you SO MUCH for doing this project! It has stirred my heart and lifted my face toward Jesus again. ❤

I think that some people are just trying to criticize the more human portrayal of Jesus, which I consider it very beautiful, inspiring and even more accurate. That portrayal of Jesus doesn’t mean He’s not perfect, holy, and the son of God. All the contrary, He shows how we should behave as children of God. And even when we know that is humanly impossible to be like Him, we can understand much better that He’s with us by our side, not expecting us to be perfect like He is, but to have faith in Him. In my opinion, that’s the correct way to portray Him because He knows what it feels to be human as He had a human life. He knows how it feels to be horrified, betrayed, loved… That actually helps people know how understanding and compassionate He is, instead of the usual “stoic” portrayal I’ve mostly seen standing out in different representations of Jesus. Why can’t Jesus make jokes? If I didn’t know any better, I’d think that some people are actually offended by seeing a portrayal of Jesus that makes jokes, shows happiness, laughs, has a good time, feels moved by children reciting Scriptures, shows sensitivity, gives warm hugs, gets watery eyes… What’s the sin in that? It’s beautiful! But some people just want the portrayal of an unreachable Jesus who lives very far away and that you better have a good signal to be able to call Him. I believe that the stoic and distant portrayal of Jesus not only does not help people want to know Him better, and have a personal relationship with Him (which is what we should be doing) but it’s inaccurate. I have felt the warmth of His love and His sweetness. So, I honestly think this has been an inspiring and beautiful project that should be supported by all Christians, and not trolled by some.

I'm reminded of the time my wife and I ate dinner after church with another couple for the first time who at the time the check came reprimanded me for tipping too much. They said never tip more than you give to God, that is 10% or more. I was gobsmacked, but went back in to "use the bathroom" and tipped appropriately. I always wished I had said what I thought of later "what? You only give God 10%!?"

I absolutely love this series you’ve created that is entertaining yet parallels the journey of Christ and His apostles. You’ve had me reading my Bible more! I personally think the creation of Matthew’s character with autism is entirely feasible. As the mother of a son on the spectrum who left this earth in December at age 48 and went undiagnosed for his entire life I appreciate you taking this creative license. Your appearance has nothing to do with how God feels about you! You all keep doing what you are doing until you’ve told the entire story. I will watch until the very end.

Must admit I am a THE CHOSEN junkie!! This series has greatly helped me understand Scripture so much better, THANK YOU!! I teach at a Christian high school, Science and one World Religions course where we explore the basics of our Christian faith, the WORLDVIEWS relevent today, and other World religions. I have used some of Pastor Robbins takes on the various Disciples and I am deeply grateful for everyone that makes THE CHOSEN possible, and for Pastor Robbins!! God Bless you All!!
