Totally. Using it as a tool to check in with yourself and say “how does this make me feel, does this align with the way I feel about myself and my life, does this information make me think about anything in my life” is a benign and beneficial thing to do in life, just assessing how things make you feel about yourself and what it tells you about the way you perceive yourself and maybe things you could work on. It doesn’t need to be scientifically objective for it to spark mindfulness and self discovery

Absolutely. I imagine this also has a lot of overlap with how a lot of those personalitytests work. You put work into it, you answer personal questions and get an answer that seems at least for a large part to correspond with how you see yourself. There have been studies where they did a questionaire like that and then gave everyone the same generic result, regardless of the answers they gave. Then they asked the participants how acurate this test was. Appearantly, even when everyone gets the exact same result, people still think it says a lot about them. It seems like you get personal attention, even though most of the things said, would apply to most people. Also, there is a nice story with the history of the technique en some of the words used sound sciency, so it must be true..

So, Here's my Question/Confusion. In the beginning she said that the photo was of your auras in that moment and that they change. If that's so, conceivably you could wait 10 minutes, take another photo and your aura could be completely different. Based on that, how can she read your aura and give you advice on what to do in the future? That advice would completely change along with your aura. I'm an extremely practical realist and when it comes to stuff like this a huge skeptic. I do recognize that we are all connected to the Earth, that where we were created from, so it makes sense. I just have doubts about the accuracy of stuff like this.

Same here 😊 but not confused, thinking that statement was one of the baits for the skeptics 😅 I’m almost 60, been around and seen many many different things. Nothing adds up so far, especially with religious beliefs. My only conclusion is that some humans certainly need spirituality to gain mental support throughout their lives. A vast majority totally depend on these things that they couldn’t survive without it. They cling on it because it gives them the a huge sense of safety and strength, they make it part of their personalities and characters, therefore they defend it. I want to remind everyone that if you believe this or not, it doesn't hurt to be mindful of what exactly resonates with you. Hahaha I know I was thinking all that too. And a lot of the advice etc was the same, but I mean all in all it seems like harmless fun. All the rapid interpretations and advice is designed so that you will relate to something in there, but for readings like this, that probably means you’ll feel like someone has given you approval to rest or whatever it is you already know you need. I hate pseudoscience when it delays or prevents people getting real help especially when the stakes are high, or if it emotionally manipulates people out of their money (but hey, isn’t that just marketing). But all in all this seems pretty benign. I also did really love Rachael’s take about just keeping an open mind. A healthy balance of openness and skepticism does us all good.

I'm fully skeptical. I do not believe in anything metaphysical/supernatural. So it immediately raised a red flag to me that what she read for Kelsey, the skeptic is that she needed to believe intuition. Intuition is not material, you might think it just means suspicion, but it's fully metaphysical. This lady is basically saying "believe this". Also in her read for herself she basically read it as the opposite of Kelsey's.
@caleighh6Ай бұрын
Yeah but you’re talking as if, even though one’s intuition isn’t something you can see or touch, that it’s not a real phenomenon, when actually it is. Ever read Malcolm Gladwell’s ‘Blink’? We as humans use intuition all he time.
@ourmobilehomemakeover662Ай бұрын
Yes and if you read that book, you learned that intuition is a fast and sloppy way to make quick decisions in emergencies. It is good for warnings and creating questions to follow up on too. Intuition is not a source of information, it’s a shortcut. And In Kelsey’s case, her skepticism IS her intuition. She’s willing to give the idea a fair trial, but her intuition is telling her it’s sus. The aura reader was using the word intuition as a synonym for “spirituality.” That’s what she thinks Kelsey lacks.
@Lau3464l27 күн бұрын
@@ourmobilehomemakeover662 absolutely. If intuition was flawless and objective, we’d never make mistakes. Intuition is just an evolutionarily beneficial cognitive shortcut based off our life’s experiences and what we learned from them. Someone has a weird vibe? We avoid them. Food smells funky? We don’t eat it. That’s intuition, but its so far from perfect, it leads us down the wrong path plenty of times

I'm not one who believes in auras, but this was a super interesting episode and at least now I know the basics of what auras etc are all about. (And I definitely subscribe to the idea of being in harmony with all parts of yourself, regardless of whether a photograph tells you to or not.) I loved the concept of bringing in three different "levels" of believing in auras, because this way, most people probably found someone to connect over it with - to no surprise, I'm most likely team Kelsey in this case, but I appreciate how open her and Rochelle approached the topic! I also loved how, on a second level, you were all so there for each other, like when Rochelle's aura read that there was "help and support around her" and Rachael looked ready to give her a big hug to remind her of that. You do really make a great team! Also, Rachael's little wink after the "unconditional love and compassion" bit, like she was so ready for that to be in her reading and fully embracing it - love that for her!

I love this. I'm not the biggest believer in auras, but I am fascinated by it and want to understand it from a scientific point of view. I like this video, because the energy you hold can effect the energy in your home so whether you're a believer or not, a reading like this can still give you perspective and open your mind to things you may have been holding back, things you need to change, etc. Different video compared to the usual content, but it's definitely an important video to show as a reminder to take a look at yourself, understand yourself, and find a balance in your thoughts, emotions and actions. Giving a platform to the pseudosciences is highly risky, and potentially harmful to the impressionable minds of a lot of naive people, children included. It is one thing to treat it as a fun activity to jokingly engage with, like horoscopes and tarots. But we should take such things with a grain of salt and still remind people that this has no scientific basis and should not be taken seriously. The moment you "open your mind" to, honestly, ignorant ideas, is the moment you lose credibility. It is literally snake oil, not a matter of "different perspectives". Leaving a "mean" comment is the least I would do tbh, since such content could be treated as Misinformation/Medical misinformation, which is ought to be reported. But I just hope that TSG will take it more seriously next time. Although it would be funny to see mana cleansers and antivaxers, I wonder what flat earthers think of interior design

It was kind of painful for me too, but it likely appeals to the bas!c b!+¢h audience that also follows

Same. Like wtf is this video?? Are the sorrygirls shifting to pseudoscience now?? I thought this was about sustainable interior design and DIY... I'm so mad right now cause they're one of my favourite KZbin channels

As a science girly, I can't with this, I'm sorry. This aura stuff might have some (pseudo)scientific basis but the rest of it is complete generic psychology-speak. I had to skim through most this video.

Gosh I loved this episode, and Rose wow she is so talented and interesting would love to see more with her❤

I enjoyed this... wouldn't say I'm a believer or skeptic, but this was fun to learn more about! Definitely felt myself needing to breathe, loosen up, and have more fun while listening to her talk to Rachel. ❤😊

Another commenter said this and I’m just gonna say it again cuz some of ya’ll need to remember….”it’s not skepticism if it’s based in a lack of knowledge”. 😆 Energy is scientifically studyable guys…

I will always watch a metaphysical type of Sorry Girls episode. I loved this week's ep! I'm sorry Becky and Danny didn't get to have their auras read too! Just my random thought... Rochelle should try sitting on either end of the table because I feel like she's an observer type and might benefit from having the opportunity to take in the situation around her rather than being parked right in the middle of it with the bigger personalities surrounding her.

I rarely do but regarding this video, I have a hard time watching it 😊 Not sure if I can watch it til the end even though I pretty much love every video and thing TSG do 😅

The only FTWF I couldn't watch till the end because it's complete BS not worth my time. I'll be back for the next one though :)

Damn there’s a lot of haters in the comments. You don’t have to believe this, just like astrology, or the moon landing, or Jesus. For those of you who are saying “I hope she’s not charging for this pseudoscience”, this is ENTERTAINMENT. You pay for entertainment. Like Kelsey said, all of the feedback is positive, even if she doesn’t necessarily understand or believe how it actually works. She’s not telling any of them anything that’s going to hinder them in any way, she’s just probably really great at reading people. It probably helps that she has watched the Sorry Girls. Whether this is real or not, everyone who is saying they “can’t watch this video” need to open up your heart chakra and embrace a different way of thinking lmao

A sigh of relief when I came back to see that this video performed poorly/lower than average for the Sorry Girls channel. The people have spoken!

I loved this video! Interesting and fun topic to explore-even if it’s not a confirmed science (I mean hey-neither is getting your colors read but that’s huge nowadays). Still nice to hear what could best support you! When it comes to anything in this world I think we take what resonates and leave the rest where we found it :)

OMG this was so unexpected and so much fun! I loved it! I just wish Becky was there too! If I was in Canada instead of Portugal 4sure I would have my aura read with Evelyn! Please bring her back to read Becky’s aura and maybe Anne’s too! The hole team why not? 😂
