U know most of the parents say , if u r procrastinating just think of ur future exam .....this thinking , I was carrying from childhood but when I started engineering ...then lockdown came but there was only classes but no exams , then after 1st wave of lockdown collage took straightly both sem exams (which was incomplete due to exams )....but due to procrastination , less will power and mind control to get rid of pleasures and going to shop if dad say me to complete any tasks ( he is an business man ) , I was so much indulged and unconscious all day in those tasks that dad gave me , he thought thought I was not intrested in studies.... But when my exam came I was totally in anxiety and I was thinking that what's the use of studying right now too much ...let's see next time The sense of perfection came in between the thoughts of my anxiety The fear of failure and accepting before that I will not perform good in exams without trying I got too much anxious because of my distractions and all of that And the theory of the destruction was also the p*** addiction, My thought was not at all organized and clear when I was alone this brought me in lack of self control and less will power extra

I've been struggling with perfectionism procrastination for as long as I can remember. I have realised a few years back that I am afraid of success (I've always wondered why though; i still do). I've never voiced this to anyone. Your video gave me goosebumps. Thank you!

What a useful and relatable message! I used to be this way until someone I love dearly said to me, you are human and flawed. Embrace it! You have nothing to prove to anyone. This was me 6 months ago and one day I just woke up to this very subtle reality of mine that I was afraid of success! I have been unapologetically unkind to the universe and to myself! This video resonated on so so many levels! My obsession with perfection reached a level where my jaw began hurting terribly because I was clenching it all the time. This by far was the cruellest I have been with myself. The only positive thing that came out of this phase was the fact that no matter how hard you try, you have to let go of everything, even the effort. Thank you for this video dee, I thought I am the only one struggling with it.

Not even kidding I would try my hardest everyday and then just put myself down for not finishing things while I am wasting time trying to make it perfect. This literally has come to the point of my self care routines even and no I just didn't realise that I wasn't being lazy but I was being unrealistic perfectionist. This perfectionism has been stopping me for years. I wanted all my things to be perfect. It wasn't only about work, but food, fitness, lifestyle and what not. I just started getting things done with little planning and starting execution immediately and also stopped blaming self unnecessarily for not achieving tasks. As per my understanding getting things started is first step, once you get in pace (if you are able to do things for around 10-12 days), reiterate your planning/optimize it(which a human can achieve and not like will goto the moon in 24 hours😂😂😂).

I feel that all the tips you mentioned out will work for me also but I don't know somewhere from the inner most me is saying that if I don't strive for perfection I cannot develop or become better than before. I still believe this thought of mine is also correct Now I'm just confused and feel like I'm stuck in the maze. 😅😅😂 Now I think that all the time perfectionism isn't the right way because things aren't working for me either.
