I appreciate the realness in your planning. Watching other creators focus so much on the stickers and the washi and making sure it’s “pretty,” and it’s so overwhelming. Yes, you have fun stuff, but you breakdown the guts of planning and sharing ideas that have and have not worked for you. Thank you, Rachelle!

If you are using a paper-based planning system you should feel free to also use it as a creative outlet. I worked 35 years with all my time on a computer based planner. I’m happy using a paper planner now that does not fill my life including “my personal hours” up with meetings, conference calls because they were international”, and project deadlines. It’s my planner to use as I see fit.

@@Deboraha5903 I’m a nurse and I took a 12 year break from patient care and did more corporate nursing and I had a digital calendar, but I also wrote all my meetings in my paper calendar. There’s just something about writing on paper that I like. Im back in the hospital working in surgery and have zero things. No meetings, no calls, no anything…just my yearly check up and 6 month dental cleaning! But, I have always wanted a hobonichi cousin, and I’m really excited to have the space in all one place to fill with whatever. Plus, I always have a retractable tape thingy, and love to keep little things that are a memory…receipt, actual ticket, a sticker from a piece of fruit…and that is what I envision the daily page being used for. Jotting about my day and also sticking things to it. I have kept all my planners, so it’s fun to look back at what I was doing.

Thank you so much!! I know a lot of people love the pretty set ups, but I've always been more fascinated by how their systems underneath the glam are actually working... so I just make videos like that 😄 Thank you for watching!

You are honestly the best planner KZbinr I have ever found. Imo the others focus on pretty pages, but you actually offer philosophy with practical life advice. You videos are soothing and so thought provoking. Thank you 🙏

Honestly more than this being a planning video i feel like i gained more insight about life in general! i really like the way you talked about tasks and doing tasks with people in terms of energy than time cause i could not set boundaries because of this exact reason! An hour long meet with my friend would not sound that bad to someone but it exhausts me so badly that i end up slacking the rest of the day, there have been many situations where i felt guilty for spending so less time in something but feeling exhausted later. This video is a literal gem!

Thank you for this video. I SUCK at boundary setting, I'm organised but I don't set boundaries with other people (work especially) and end up overwhelmed and stressed. Clear and practical advice, thank you!

This is excellent advice. I find that my calendar is getting overrun with meetings that lead to More and more tasks. Beginning this month I'm setting meeting free hours in my Outlook so that I can devote the time I need to completing the actual work I'm responsible for.

Great video. I just want to add, for everyone, that the discussions of boundaries, overwhelm, and resentment in this video is drawn from the book by Nedra Glover Tawwab called Set Boundaries, Find Peace. I often find it helpful when you reference where you are drawing ideas from. It gives me source to check out for myself and I often appreciate it.

I've been dealing with some really intense family stuff since 2020 and I've lost what seems like all boundaries since then. It's hard trying to find them again. There's a couple that have stuck, but because of having to be the one who holds it all together for my spouse, I have lost almost all sense of me. And surprise surprise, been working through the resentment that it has all caused.
@softsophisticate Жыл бұрын
If your spouse is ill, mentally or physically and you are his carer, then yes, losing your sense of self is a common problem for carers. You need to allocate time for yourself regulalry. Call it "Me Time". French women apparently have Boudoir time where they go off to their bedrooms or bathrooms, lock the door and practise grooming /self-care - a long hot bath, manicure/pedicure, apply a face cream, defuzz, aromatherapy oils, try out new make-up styles, play in your wardrobe, trying out new outfit combos, light a scented candle and get into bed with a cup of tea and a good book. Maybe have a Me Day where you go to a spa, or get your haircut or brows done and a manicure or treat yourself to a healthy lunch in a restaurant on your own. Even going for a walk in nature on your own does you good. Get back in touch with yourself with Self Developement - where would you like to improve and learn how - assertiveness? setting boundaries? leadership skills? personal style? Hobbies and Interests - One night a week go to a class. It is a change of scenery and you get to meet new people and you have to "get back into yourself"as it is just you. Steven Covey in his book said we all have roles in life. At the minimum, yours are Self, Wife, Carer. Self care and development takes care of self, the Carer role is self explanatory and the Wife role may mean you need to make some time for romance with your husband. He may also have forgotten this side of your relationship if he now just sees you as his Carer. Wishing you good luck

Great advise 👍. I enjoyed learning and hearing what you have to share... until the end when you called me a Guy. I'm against the erasure of girls and women. Calling me a guy is saying you only instruct men. Haven't we women had enough of our rights rolled back? Let's name every day - You, women, girls, ladies. And not organize our language and minds around the assumption a human, by default is male.
