Venom is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character is a sentient alien symbiote with an amorphous, liquid-like form, who survives by bonding with a host, usually human. This dual-life form receives enhanced powers and usually refers to itself as "Venom." The symbiote was originally introduced as a living alien costume in The Amazing Spider-Man #252 (May 1984), with a full first appearance as Venom in The Amazing Spider-Man #300 (May 1988).
The Venom symbiote's first human host was Spider-Man himself, who eventually discovered its true nefarious nature and separated himself from the creature in The Amazing Spider-Man #258 (November 1984)[2]-with a brief rejoining five months later in Web of Spider-Man #1. The symbiote went on to merge with other hosts, beginning with Eddie Brock, its second and most infamous host, with whom it first became Venom. Venom has endured as one of Spider-Man's most prominent villains, and is regarded as one of his four archenemies, alongside the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Mephisto. Since his debut, he has evolved into an antiheroic figure, slowly distancing himself from his initial goal to ruin Spider-Man's life to try and do good instead. After Brock, numerous other hosts for Venom followed; some of the most notable are the villain Mac Gargan, who was the main incarnation of Venom from 2005 to 2009, and Flash Thompson, who became the superhero Agent Venom in 2011.
A fan favorite character and well-known figure in popular culture, Venom (primarily the Eddie Brock incarnation) has been featured in various media adaptations of Spider-Man over the years, including feature films, television series and video games. The character was portrayed by Topher Grace in Spider-Man 3 (2007), and by Tom Hardy in Sony's Spider-Man Universe films Venom (2018) and Let There Be Carnage (2021).
The Eddie Brock incarnation of Venom is among Spider-Man's most famous rogues, and is regarded by many as a dark reflection of the hero, with Venom and Brock's relationship seen as having romantic undertones, confirmed in 2017. Comics journalist and historian Mike Conroy writes of the character: "What started out as a replacement costume for Spider-Man turned into one of the Marvel web-slinger's greatest nightmares". Venom was rated 33rd on Empire's 50 Greatest Comic Book Characters, and ranked 22nd on IGN's 100 Greatest Comic Villains of All Time.
Ultimate Marvel, later known as Ultimate Comics, was an imprint of comic books published by Marvel Comics, featuring re-imagined and modernized versions of the company's superhero characters from the Ultimate Marvel Universe. Those characters include Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Ultimates (the Ultimate Marvel Universe counterpart of the Avengers), the Fantastic Four, and others. The imprint was launched in 2000 with the publication of the series Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate X-Men followed by The Ultimates and Ultimate Fantastic Four in 2002 and 2004 respectively providing new origin stories for the characters. The reality of Ultimate Marvel is designated as Earth-1610 as part of the Marvel Comics Multiverse.
The Ultimate Universe, as a part of a large-scale reboot of the All-New, All-Different Marvel multiverse, ended at the conclusion of the 2015 "Secret Wars" storyline, when select characters from the Ultimate Universe moved to the mainstream universe. However, writer Brian Michael Bendis established at the end of the 2017 miniseries Spider-Men II that the universe and its superheroes still exist.

Fun Fact: The Ultimate Venom Symbiote has shown to be undetected by The Main Continuity/616 Venom and the Other Symbiotes Because unlike the 616 Venom, Ultimate Venom is a Synthetic Symbiote.

Fun fact: Venom doesn’t weaken Peter via proximity in the normal way. The remaining Venom Suit particles in Peter’s blood want to rejoin with the Suit. This makes Peter’s Spider-Sense trigger with a much stronger reaction than normal to the point of prolonged exposure will cause a migraine powerful enough to incapacitate Peter until it passes. Which is thankfully only a few seconds. Love this video. Loved Ultimate Spider-Man the game.

While the ultimate Symbiote does seem stronger than the 616 symbiote, I'd rather wear the 616 one as a host because this one can at least be bargained with, reach an agreement, or fully control it. Ultimate however, it feeds off a host's life and slowly kills them. The host also has little to no control over their actions will eventually lose their mind. Ultimate Symbiote seems to be more of a horrible curse than power, turning the host into a mindless monster that slowly kills them

Wouldn’t that be a feat of Spider-Man’s Spider Sense though? Him dodging lasers and electricity is fast, but his spider sense seems to be the reason why he survives most of those attacks. Without that, he probably would’ve died the first time he went to Fisk’s office

Somebody needs to do an analysis on Durablility: penetration vs blunt force Because how can Spider Man in every universe, lift over 10 tons and survive being punched by the Hulk. But knives and bullets can pierce him.

No idea. I guess his powers didn’t include super durability like Superman. Spiderman is more mortal that way. Either way, he can’t take TOO many hits from heavy hitters like Hulk or Thing, he usually ends up with broken bones in those types of scenerios. Sharp pointy things have always been able to hurt just about anyone who isn’t like Thing or Colossus level durability. They have near impenetrable skin, Wolverine is still able to impale beings above that like the Hulk who is far above “bullet and knife level”. Piercing type attacks have always been that way compared to blunt force, probably because the kinetic energy is concentrated at the tip instead of it being dispersed like a hammer or fist.

Sure Venom may hit HARDER than the bullet that killed Spiderman, but the bullet is more of a piercing projectile while venoms is blunt force. Spiderman can’t survive bleeding out. Venom can regenerate, Spiderman can’t, so if a bullet can make contact I’d say it’s deadlier than Venoms punches when it comes to the wall crawler. He isn’t superman
