By far, one of the best and most informative videos on a professional finishing process I've seen on KZbin. Excellent narration and logical flow from beginning to end.

Fascinating watching you restore this piece of furniture. I could never aspire to your skills but I have so much more understanding of the process. Now that I have found your channel I am looking forward to many more projects. You so obviously love what you do and love to share it with others.

Also it's interesting to see you spray it with the drawers in I would never have thought to do that because I'd be afraid that I would just glue everything shut. But it makes a lot of sense because how else would you get even color.

Beautiful work! I have been doing this for over 20 years but it is amazing how much more there is to learn seeing how others do it. Is that an HVLP, RP or Conventional gun? Also in your toner coats what is your ratio of lacquer/lacquer thinner? Thank you for creating these videos and sharing.
@FurnitureRefinishingStudio4 жыл бұрын
Thanks ! I'm guessing the gun you are asking about is the one I am using for clear coats? That is a Kremlin M21 paired up with a Graco Tritan 308 air assisted sprayer. I shot a vid on that too, but didnt include it because the vid just got so dang long !
@FurnitureRefinishingStudio4 жыл бұрын
As for toners and tints, I don't thin the lacquer. The last thing I want is a run in my tint coat because it's darn near impossible to fix it properly so I use uncut lacquer.

Would u be able to recommend best place to buy veneer to fix / replace a very small missing veneer patch ?
@emilykrahn31852 жыл бұрын
Turned out beautifully. Thanks for all the information. On the tint coats with lacquer, did you wait for them to dry before adding additional coats? I know you did with the final coat, but in between the tint codes, did they dry first?
@FurnitureRefinishingStudio2 жыл бұрын
Yes I did
@athenaemanuel88622 жыл бұрын
I’m new to this but eager to learn. How long did this piece take you from start to finish? I assume each coat was completely dry before applying the next? Also, I noticed you didn’t sand between coats. I thought that was a must. Im sorry, so many questions! Athena

Hey brother! Hope all is well. Just wondering if I could get any information on your colorants dispenser. I would love to learn more about mixing my own colors and products
@FurnitureRefinishingStudio3 жыл бұрын
It's a Harbil colorant dispenser. You can pick them up used and they really help fine tune your color mixing.

You must have little fluid coming out to be able to make that many passes that slow without runs.?.?
@FurnitureRefinishingStudio3 жыл бұрын
Not the case at all actually. There are a lot of factors that come into play. Equipment, finish, air temp, etc.

Great video, thank you! Question for your, I am refinishing a table for my sailboat made from Teak laminated plywood, the previous owner painted grey, I want to refinish in natural Teak. I've stripped using Citrus Strip, most of the paint has been removed. However I still see a grey shadow in several places around the perimeter. I tried using CitrusStrip and 0000 steelwool, the shadow persists. How do I remove the remaining grey shadow? I'm reluctant to sand, as I may go through the Teak veneer.
@FurnitureRefinishingStudio3 жыл бұрын
Its impossible for me to really advise you without seeing it in person, but you should have enough veneer thickness to at least sand a little by hand. I hardly ever refinish anything without at least some degree of sanding.
