What eleven do you think Amorim will pick this weekend? (good luck, its almost impossible to predict because of current injuries) Is Evans mobile enough to play on the left by himself? Or does he need the defensive protection from Mazraoui in front? How about in midfield, do Ugarte and Mainoo have what it takes to control the game? And which front 3 would give United the firepower they need to secure all 3 points?

I don't think Evans is mobile enough to play alone on the left, but considering he's good with his left foot, he should be fine against Ipswich. Maza would do wonderful job covering up for Johnny. Ugarte and mainoo would be a should be okay considering our opponents but I'll rather Bruno and ugarte in that pivot. Mount goes on the wing, houljund in front and amad. That's my starting preference

What’s interesting to note with new formation is how many conundrums have been created. All of a sudden we dont look so one-dimensional and the option to switch from Defensive to Attacking formation is readily available to manager just by changing wingback personnel. I look forward to some entertaining football in near future!

In the interview with Gary Neville I think he was asked about if he was gonna use fullbacks or wingers as wingbacks. The answer was something along the lines of he was gonna use both types of players, and it would depend on the game. But he also said, almost in passing, that it probably would be easir to start using fullbacks because it would be some new things for the wingers to learn. So unless that was a smokescreen I think Dalot, Mazraoui and maybe Malacia are the ones he will use mostly as wingbacks to begin with.

I think your prediction for Amorim's first starting 11 is quite brilliant taking into consideration the various yardsticks to selecting them, however I think Amorim would like a very mobile back 3, i think he will replace Martinez for Evans, Hojlund for Rashford because he makes runs and is an archtype of Gyokeres, and Antony for Dalot.

I respect that you did say you going out on a limp with Yoro. However, no one ever goes out for 3 months and comes back in when available. He'll have minutes but not starting, same case for Malacia who had minutes with the u21 and Luke Shaw. Kobbie did play this season so he won't be an issue. I think Mazaroui plays RCB, Dalot at LWB and Antony at LWB. Have a feeling Casemiro plays over Ugarte because Ugarte just got back from International duty. I think Licha is fit to play. I think he just wanted to get back to training for the new manager.

Yeah like I said its almost impossible to predict I do like the idea of Antony playing at wb if we need Mazraoui or Dalot at cb Hopefully Licha will be fit to solve a few problems

the starting 11 you put is the one he's gonna put on. Subs will be people who were on international duty. He stated in his interview with Gary on Sky that at the beginning his wingbacks will be fullbacks because it takes awhile to teach the wingers how to defend. so that's something we wont see until after the january transfer window and the time he has to practice then

If you check his heatmap from this season you'll see that he has actually spent alot of time in that left side channel Although I agree, it would be a concern, hopefully Licha will be fit

@@snakekime7608 im portuguese and i can tell you right now, thats not how the wing backs work, plus i can also tell you, Evans won´t start nor play in the left of the three, at most he´ll play in the middle, come here again sunday and tell me if i was wrong.

What I’m most interested to see is who is favoured between Mazraoui and Dalot because I just don’t see a space for both. IMO long term, Yoro will play RCB and Martinez will play LCB, Garnacho will play LWB which means that the RWB spot is up for grabs and there’s other players that could play there as well (i.e Amorim may put Amad there and favour Mount with Bruno as the two behind the 9).

it dont really matter who starts having 2 versatile right backs who could play RB, wide centre back, midfield or wing back is only a positive for us. we need competition in every position. dalot does need a rest though i think hes played 40 plus games in a row, hes going to have bad games

Dont care what goes on with the wing backs, the emphasis on the technical ability of both tens should not be overlooked, so in my opinion, if bruno needs to be accommodated, he has to play beside ugarte so he wont get exposed, then mount, zirkzee or even mainoo can play beside amad. But rashford plays up top for sure and lets not kid our selves about evans please

well you need to care for it now, teams can exploit the wide areas so WB are very important in an Amorim system

For me Garnacho should play.He is always.a danger to the defense. And he can score goals. So Mazraoui as a left central defender and Garnacho as a wing back

I think Evans will be the central CB, as good passing is needed if he's moved up to connect with midfield as Ruben has done before.

AJ I like your videos, I strongly think you should consider rebranding your channel to a more Man Utd-esque name....it'd garner more viewers and at the same time you'd be the only few ones who analyze the team's performances and structures based off tactics and less of emotions...your channel brings that balance required for Man Utd fans. Rashford over Hojlund is a no. Rashford can't hold the ball up for a start. Rashford can't play with his back to goal which you need to be able to do, Rashford likes to play on defenders shoulders using his pace which needs risky passes. Amorim has already said United have been giving the ball away too much playing risky passes. Hojlund will be used like Amorim used Gyokeres, a strong striker who can play with his back to goal holding the ball up then laying the ball off then getting in the box.

I know its the first game, but its vs ispwich, i feel using 2 players whos primarly fullbacks on each side gives us too little attacking power and tendancies

Personally I think he'll go with 2 fullbacks for that extra defensive security But I also wouldn't be at all surprised to see someone like Antony playing on the right

Onana Dalot De Ligt Evans Mazroui Ugarte Mount Anthoy Amad Bruno Rashford I dont like the idea of risking any of Shaw, yoro or Mainoo as starters if we dont have to and I think Mount should be capable enough not to be a massive weakness in defence

Your by far biggest call here is Rashford as a 9 and you basically dont talk about it... just why ? If we play a posetion heavy side I would get that, but he usally looks so lost against deeper opposition.

onana mazraoui, de ligt, evans, martinez, dalot Ugarte, Casemiro Amad, Bruno Rashford The alternatives have questionable fitness after coming back from injury. Martinez maybe not but he's played alot more than shaw and yoro recently. Hojlund probably losing his spot to rashford for now. I cant find a spot for garnacho yet, super sub is the way.

I understand the rationale to start Rashford ahead of Rasmus...but i just dont get it. Why does rashford appear in any starting 11? He has been pur worst attacking playern in the last 18 months. And clearly doesnt care enough!
