Thanks. I'm new to the hobby and when I received a kit, along with the motor, I was wondering what the deal was with the hardware! Great idea!

thanks a lot for this video i tried using a spacer underneath the propeller and in between my park 250 brushless outrunner and made it go to full power and sent the propeller flying across the room and almost hitting me in the arm, the way you did it is a lot simpler and safer

The bad thing about prop saver is, it makes your prop vibrate like hell due to unsecured joint between shaft and prop. If you using it, never run your motor at full speed

Hay it was good advice, keep your motors in a baggie. In my space I need to keep the motor sealed all the time or they get all kinds of metal filings and stuff in them. Last week I couldn't find my tooth brush.... But when it comes to prop savers I have yet to see a properly designed one. And it requires a prop saver prop designed to be used with a prop saver mount, not a flat surface design made for a flat plate held tight by a nut, someone too lazy to design it right. Talk about total dysfunction in the RC market.... jezzz. The prop saver and prop that come with a PopWing are not only prone to failure they are a danger to your eyes as well as the trailing edge of the wing and anyone nearby. A prop saver designed right in a pusher could be a great tool and capable of keeping the motor and prop in balance. Try spinning 38 k using what is offered now. And finding a proper prop adapter for one of the most popular flying wings is a joke. Why would you only use one set screw when the shaft needs to be in balance? Even without the issue of balance two set screws should be used. You need a machine shop just to fly a common RC wing. Cheap, cheap, cheap! That's all it is... HK needs to come to the rescue and get together with APC and do it right. The mount and prop need a relationship called a cone, and the pressure in relationship to the cone's shape dictates how much force is needed to move the prop off center and designed right will allow the prop to re-center it self. The only way to get what's out now to work safely is to modify it. There's a reason people hate these things... and it's not the good idea.

wow this is really a good video! Thanks man! BTW can you please help me answer my questions? 1. Prop saver helps greatly in preventing motor shafts from bending (Huge problem cus so many planes have props in the nose except jets and a few others...) 2. Can I use a prop saver for folding props? 3. Motor shafts bend because of nose dive or your propeller theory? Thanks and pls reply :D

Don't use "O" rings to secure props, it's the most inferior, unreliable way, to lose the plane. Best thing to do is upgrade it to proper solid adaptor mount!

I'd say this was an alright video but that unfocused camera just gets me. Prop savers are only good for single propeller airplanes that general have no gears. Basically the only use i've found for them. A serious no no for multirotors and any other aircraft you may use fpv gear. Prop savers create unnecessary vibrations.

Thanks, Alex, but this video was recorded in 2011 when small cameras were not what they are today. For the time, the slight out-of-focus wasn't an issue on YT and only very recently has it started showing up on the comments. If I made this video again today, it would be much easier to make a really good-looking one. I agree with all your other points.

This is very true but some post recording editing could have fixed it a little bit. What were you shooting with back in 2011? I do believe cameras have come a long way and with this day in age everything seems to not be good enough, as i can be a little peeky with photography.

Alex Hamilton I used a FlipHD V2 for this video. It has auto focus and it's pretty crap compared to even a smartphone of the same time.

killioughtta You've got to be kidding me, maybe a little out of focus sucks for some people to see because they just can't deal with it, but seeing someone take so much time to complain is far worse. Then again me wasting even more time isn't much better. You've got to be kidding, the focus, really? It's a video about a prop saver, say thank you for taking the time to make it.

Thank u 4 posting this. But woldn't it B easier and less expensive and more sensible if people jst learn how to fly without crashing? the best way to do this is stop using ur "flight sim" cuz it gives people a false sense of security and actually teaches us how to crash better :) And y is this? cuz when u crash on a sim u IMMEDIATELY hop in another plane and fly away. THERS NO PAIN haha
