After two months of my Ford Mach-E GT being in the shop, I got the message below from the service guy at my local Ford dealership. I still plan to move forward with my request that Ford buy back the vehicle. Good afternoon, sir. It's XXXXXXX with XXXXXXX Ford. Looking at it. We should have your vehicle per my service manager, ready and completed by the end of the day on Tuesday, October 29. This is a tentative date and his subject the change, however, I will give you a call as soon as it's ready. I appreciate you and I hope you're having a good afternoon.

Similarly happened with my Lightning, was in the shop for 5/15 months, lemoned it. On the bright side, only a very small % of the Ford batteries had such an issue, and their BMS seems to catch the issue before it can become catastrophic.

I test drove a 2024 Silverado RST EV, was really impressed, but want the better trim GSM Sierra Denali EV, it total rocks for great deluxe interior over the Silverado, and with a larger screen. So waiting for the 2025 model which is due in a few weeks.

Agreed, GM Took 30 years to get it right, but the Silverado is their redemptive moment.

Silverado is great however the price of the nice version that buyers would want is unrealistic for 99% of those buyers

There is no real competition between electric tucks. You Buy what you like and what will work for you. Each have their benefits. Even thou Cybertruck is outselling the rest combined does not mean that any of them are lesser of a vehicle. There is a huge market and all the manufacturers together cannot build enough BEV trucks to satisfy the market. Remember there is still the rest of the world waiting for BEV trucks as well.

Ya.... Nevermind that 100% of the GM Bolt were recalled for battery fired... I'm sure they fixed that....

LG Chem supplied the batteries for the Bolt and those batteries were in the Kona and Jaguar. Battery recall was so bad LG Chem changed their name.

Are you saying that you believe that the batteries in the Bolt had the same technology and same supplier ? Really?

@@andrepregent6930 Yes , that is correct. Just as BYD supplies a number of companies with their batteries , LG Chem did the same . Unfortunately the battery packs had a flaw which caused a good number of fires.

@@andrepregent6930 no. They are different. I don't know precisely the cell source for the Silverado. Go ahead and share if you do. But LG has been making cells for longer than GM penultimatium or whatever they are called, and they still managed to mess them up... So until the Silverado has some years of track record, we have no idea if they are better or worse...

I currently have Hummer SUV EV…. Love driving it. Lot of fun. Once I got the price and specs on the cyber truck…. Dropped my place on the waiting list and put my name down on the GMC EV pickup truck. GMC EV pickup is a truck and not a stainless steel glorified station wagon.

You must have forgot about the early Hummers just shutting down and needing a reboot to work again. Or the guy who jumped it on a service road speed bump the first day he had it and wrecked the suspension. Maybe the Silverado will turn around their electric truck track record though? I do hope they succeed, but am not sure brute forcing range with battery capacity but poor efficiency is the way. Only time will tell, but GM has a pretty poor history at reliable BEVs... I loved having my Bolt for a few years, but it's far from perfect.

Any EV still using a lead acid battery as its 12 volt source is not a good EV.
