In this video, I talk about how running changed my life. As a former college football player, I never thought I would get into endurance running. During Covid I invested in myself and started to work on things that were not comfortable for me and running was one of them. I never thought I would have completed multiple marathons and ultra marathons during that 2 year period.

It´s amazing what you have achieved in these past 2 years. My case is a bit different, more in the long run but already 9 years ago. I would say the last 4-5 years I have been more dedicated and enjoying more the process. One step at a time. Hopefully improving my marathon time next year to make sub 3h30 or faster (and also improve for shorter distances) Keep up the good work!

Ran my first half marathon about a month ago... it was rough. I really want to run a sub 2 hour half marathon, and then build from there. What I'm finding is there is always stuff that comes up in the afternoon, I really need to wake up every morning and run. I have been able to do this a week at a time in the past but I fall off the bandwagon after that.

You got it! I ran my first half marathon February 2021 with zero training and it was rough. I completed it in 2:59:59. Since May of this year I’ve been training for a full marathon and I finally hit a sub-2 hour half marathon yesterday. You just have to be consistent and put in the mileage! ✊🏼

Great content! I agree with all you said. Started running during 2020 lockdowns. Read David goggins book as well. I attempted my first 100km ultra last week and dropped out at 65km. I realised there is still so much for me to learn and I'm bringing you channel now that I just found it!

Thats funny I did the same thing after I read Cant Hurt Me. I tried running a marathon with nothing but my own two feet. I made it to mile 22, but could not going any further than that. I still have yet to do a marathon but will do so in the near future.

I need some advice I’m a 13 year old xc and track runner who want to do a marathon I have trained for this for about 2 months my longest run has been 30 miles I did that in about 4 hours and 20 minutes I took one break during the run for some ice cream but anyways do you think it’s safe if so what do you think my time should be just asking for a friend. Love your content and even follow you on Strava I have been running for 3 years

Don't even run marathons yet. Your way to young to run a marathon. Do half until your almost 20 at least. There's no point doing something just to say you did it. If your dragging yourself across the finish line you aren't doing yourself and your fitness any favors.

Try.. being 36, spinal fusion at 34, 3 kids, intense job then taking up running in lockdown for the 1st with limited time. I have a 16min 5km, 35min 10km, 58min 10 mile 1.18 HM, 2.50M. These KZbin kids stealing a living on this nonsense. Best advice 1) stop listening to this crap 2) Get measured for the correct trainer 3) realise trainers don't make you fast 4) don't go too fast too hard too soon 5) follow the 4 week 10% rule, 3 weeks of increased running volume of no more than 10%, on the 4th week easy or rest, 6) use the 80/20 rule (80% of running at aerobic easy, 20% anaerobic fast) 7) Find out your Max Heart rate 8)rest 9) Drink lots of water 10) Eat Healthy and balanced meals. There is no special mindset or diet just you and yourself.

It’s creepy how similar your story is to mine. I ran the exact same distances and exact same challenges including a half with no training to a marathon to the 4x4x48 then right into ultras. Just ran my first 100k and I’m now training for a 100 miler in 8 weeks

Great Video. I would love to be able to run a marathon one day. I snowboard and ride bikes. The average person however would never ever be able to come anywhere even remotely close to being able to run 18 miles. Most people can't even run a couple miles.

Well done - I would follow 4 week blocks 3 weeks of 5-10% increase in running volume then an easy week, then 3 week increase of 5-10% and so on.6 days a week is a lot for a newbie, this will lead to injury. Also try and follow the 80/20 rule. 80 at easy aerobic(low heart rate/easy), 20% (higher hate rate) threshold/anerobic.
