RE: The play at 8:40: You can see Jokic look over at Westbrook and they make eye contact and Jokic waits until he sees Russ start to move before making the pass. It was such a clear moment of two great players knowing exactly what they wanted from each other. People criticizing the Nuggets signing Westbrook has seemed crazy to me. Jokic ASKED for this, everyone knows he has insane basketball IQ, but somehow they think he didn't know who Westbrook was - what his flaws are? Anyone who averaged a triple double at their peak has to have great basketball IQ and Jokic knows that whatever else has changed as Russ has gotten older, he's still a smart player, and that's something Jokic can use better than literally anybody else in the league.

Bro they signed him on a vet min not 20mil why are peiple hatin just bench him if he is playing ass nobody critize dj is on a vet min or what. Beside the playing he is a great energizer and leader locker room guy to bring fire invthe playoofs which they need

@@Rick-gf1fi he has authority no duh lol. The only thing he's good at is yelling and calling timeouts when they're not playing hard or w energy. Past 2 years he never fixed all their little issues. No box outs closeouts nothing. Fight over screens nope. He's just a basic energy speech coach or lecturer and reminder. Bottom half coach not top half. Imagine if joker had the privilege of Kerr instead 🤣

Huge Westbrook fan here and to be able to trust him to run the 2nd team w/o Murray or Jokic on the floor in is huge IMO. It's no small thing that this was the 4th game the Thunder have played in 6 days, and it showed (especially in SGA), but you have to take advantage of whatever opportunities are in front of you which Denver did. Good game and I am looking forward to a season where our success isn't completely dependent on Murray being healthy. Also, nice to see the bench come out and really hold the line while the stars rested.
@vlada14 күн бұрын
Exactly. The bench has been bad for 5 yrs and the non Jokić mins (-9) are simply horrible. Russ working well with Jokić isn't a surprise, everyone does. But with or without him, the Denver offense is top 3-5. Russ main job is to guide the youngins of the 2nd unit and most importantly in the non Jokić mins. This is the biggest problem the nuggets have had all these years. If Russ brings it to just -3 when Jokić is off, it is season changing stuff.

Food for the though. The moment Jamal Murray got injured the Nuggets can't stop winning. Their Assist went up, their FG% of the whole team went up to 48% from 44%. They are playing much better defense. They are rebounding the ball better. Shooting the 3pt better. The flow of the offense is at lot better, the ball is moving, the players are moving. It was instantly noticiable with the Nuggets getting beat up by Minnesota and Jamal went out on a head injury and on the same game. Denver clawed back into winning the game before committing a ton of turnover into losing the game. The were losing by 8 with 3 minutes left on the game. Just saying. Nuggets without Jamal are positive in both side of the court and winning games

They are missing KCP badly, Murray is at least a level bellow what he was 2 years ago and The same applies for MPJ. On top of that you must take into consideration they were lucky to play 8th seed Miami in the finals 2 years ago, otherwise they most likely wouldn't win that. I hope I am wrong, but believing this team can win another ring is rather wishful thinking.
