Instead, Prigozhin hoped to overthrow the Ministry of Defense represented by Shoigu and Gerasimov with the expectation that Putin would support him over the MoD and replace Shoigu and Gerasimov with Prigozhin's allies. Unfortunately for Prigozhin, he overestimated his ties with Putin who is more dependent on the MoD. Without Putin's backing, Prigozhin's coup against the MoD crashed and burned (literally).

I find myself wondering about Russia's attitude toward the remnants of European and American colonialism in African countries. Or, should we call it the new economic colonialism facilitated by the World Bank and the IMF? But, I'm curious if Russia (and China) are seeing the profits that Western control extracts from Africa; and in their jealousy, seeking similar levels of control. With all the super powers vying for their piece of the African pie, when can we expect African countries to be truly free, if ever? In any case, I don't see so much as a rumor of any country of power seeking to assist African countries in achieving true independence.

And, it's quite clear that the IMF and the World bank are involved in getting the heads of countries into taking money that they shouldn't, even when they don't want it, because of conditions in those deals that surrender too much power to corporations. So, the idea that this is about people asking for money doesn't make any sense.

And I'm not even counting money, that they get through international institutions like the IMF and World Bank. The number then would several times bigger. We're doing too much for them. That must be stopped. The West should start paying attention to it's domestic issues. We aren't obliged to help anybody, but we still do it. And I don't see africans or asians thanking Us for that
