People can complain all they want but I'd MUCH rather have people farming sturgeon than fishing them to actual extinction. Everytime

And they farm them to actually prevent extinction. These sturgeon are prehistoric and I'd rather not see the species go extinct. Farming actually saved the species. At last, someone who gets it.

Meanwhile most the people complaining eat processed meats from grocery stores while having a poodle from a puppy mill. This is farming and there's no difference from their cheeseburger except price and pallets.

We eat what we farmed is ok for me, but hunting natural/ wild animals, fish etc to the point of extinction is quit disturbing. Mother nature will take revenge one day for our cruelty and greediness.

As a retired chef of 50 years I thoroughly enjoyed this video [and many others in the series] without getting in too deep regarding ethics or process. Each video tells it like it is. Videos are well made, well presented, entertaining as well as informative and about the correct length in time. 'How to make it' .. it does what it says on the tin.

Martin No, veganism and vegetarianism are not white privileged things. I know people at my school who don’t eat meat or animal products because of their culture or religion, and even though they’re living in America, they are certainly not “white”. I can see how you might think it’s a luxury, but it really isn’t. Also, burgers are disgusting either way, whether vegan or not.

@@notsure1277 we'll, keep in mind that not only is it more ethical but it would be more efficient in terms of production. Surgical removal allows for multiple egg extractions. If there was a way to harvest without killing, while still keeping quality standards up, don’t you think they’d do that? Obviously they’d rather not have to kill them and be continuously raising replacements for 7 years. Just from a cost perspective that doesn’t make sense if there was a good alternative. Farms like this are what will ensure the species survival when human eventually wipe them out in the wild. These farms could one day help restore wild populations if humans ever wise up.

My grandpa used to be a pilot in Russia and he had to fly workers from one workplace to another and once he had to fly fishers, who also produced caviar, to another town and they gave him two buckets with red and black caviar. Needless to say, we ate like royalty and it was delicious 🙈❤

I've read sturgeon meat is best smoked. And given the meat is still very much the side product, it shouldn't be that expensive, especially if you live somewhere that has these caviar growers nearby. I live in eastern Finland, one small town south of us grows caviar. Just telling the owner of any grocery store that sells fresh fish that you would like some sturgeon meat and they get it for next day, price per kilogram not being a whole lot.

Little Alie Pie what you have to understand is that they’re trying to be as humane as possible. I understand if that’s your belief and you don’t want these animals to die, but these fish aren’t human. It’s not cold blooded murder and you have to understand that. What some people don’t get is that there are two ways to harvest food that don’t hav to do with crops. One way is cold blooded killing them by letting them suffocate, or by using some means of force that doesn’t kill them instantly, or the second way is by making it quick and painless. Hitting in the head with a hammer, slitting their throats, dislocating their head... don’t get me wrong it sounds horrible, but if someone is gonna do it they should do it right.

I’m actually glad that a place like the exist with high quality standards and uses the whole fish and not just the eggs. There are places that will just kill the fish for the eggs and throw the rest away which is a total waste with no quality control. Like others have said this kind of place is great as it doesn’t wipe a whole species of fish out as they are captive fish they use and wait till the fish itself is ready to be harvested instead of just snatching it up at the first sign of roe.

For anyone who is critcizing the living conditions and euthanizing methods at this farm, you should consider that these fish live considerably better than most livestock. Welfare standards at this farm in particular look acceptable. Animals raised for food are almost never raised in that great of a way. That’s just the truth. Even the biopsy would not have hurt as much as branding, dehorning and castration. So anyone who is calling THIS cruel better be a pretty f-in dedicated vegan as not to be a hypocrite.

Yet, none of y`all are able to look at the History of that failed ideology as you`re not able to look at the how and why of things . And y`all vote , so here we are .

@@NCredleg Well I don't know that much about socialism and I don't have to because I'm not allowed to wote yet. But I would not wote for anything without doing my research first. You're right, feeling your way through all things in life is not a very good idea. But to be fair, you don't know if we are for or against socialism. Because that dosn't really have anything to do with not knowing how every singel product in the supermarket is produced.
