Honestly, Deadpool only getting made after "someone" leaked the test footage which basically forced the movie into the exsistance in one of the most Deadpool things I have ever heard

I believe on the commentary track for deadpool, back on the original bluray release, the writers said Ryan leaked the footage, and Ryan did not deny it.

On their press tour on one of the tonight shows, Hugh uses his lie detector question to 1:28 references it, that Reynolds uploaded the footage from his mom’s computer.

Thanks for that awesome story Luke, I was a fan of DP 1&2 but due to being in the wealth system in my country for 2020 and on, I did not quite understand why deadpool 3 took so many years to be made, I since then knew it was some sort of epic quest from Ryan Reynolds, but I really appreciate knowing the full story now. I remember when the test footage leaked, I was so excited and seeing the internet go crazy was vindication as a Deadpool fan! So glad they never gave up on it and maybe cut a few corners getting that footage to the public 😅 Great video encapsulating everything from the timeline to the feelings of the executives at the time. Well done!

I actually blame them for that due to lack of creativity as well as the part with the Taylor Swift theme song. When the movie depends ALMOST ENTIRELY of a single theme song from 2009 to become a meme, i knew they were making nonsense and ruined the movie, including when the character goes off-script in all the movie it blame on Disney and their decisions up to this point. Nobody cares about the comics and characters anymore, throwing everything they had into the dimension when the movie takes place as a gabage dump, they only cares about money, buisness and also memes because the internet ask for this. And maybe is just me but also i got very mad when they still spend movie time comparing cars witch has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ENTIRE MOVIE, and it's only due to the character also being a car salesman. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HELL DOES HE THINK HE IS???!!! I WONDER WHY THIS KIND OF COMEDY EXIST. SOMEBODY KILL ME ALREADY

I don't know if the deadpool movies would have been as big if they came out earlier. coming out not long after phase 2 started while people were still big on these movies while there were still people big on the "give us something different" but before phase 3 made people tire from some not so great super hero titles was a good middle place, especially coming out after guardians that kindof did the "look, this is NOT TRADITIONAL and it is AWESOME" thing

I completely agree that I think MCU exhaustion is why the critics loved it, which gave it popular acceptance. Then, I think the movie itself made it a sensation where even those not familiar with it were like you need to see this. I think comic fans would've been all about it either way 🙂 either way, it was a moment for sure!

Wade was great in X-Men origins Wolverine I still don't know what the hell they were doing with Deadpool though like they had it Ryan playing Wade was great so it still baffles me how they dropped the ball so bad when it came to Wade becoming Deadpool. How the hell are you going to make the Merc with the mouth a silent cgi mess like it is genuinely infuriating how close they got just to pull a 180 when it came to making Wade into Deadpool
