It's for sure very safe in the rural area of China even at night, that's why I've been to a mountain village to watch the night sky at a summer night, i could identify immediately the milky way, the big dipper when i was away from the light pollution.

The Chinese have this traditional ritual from ancient time and it was believed that they have been doing it since they came out of Babylon when God dispersed all people to the four corners of the earth. To “honor” is to “respect” and it is not the same as to “worship”. Through the ages this 5th commandment became a ritual known as “ancestral worship” which is honoring ancestors. But worshipping “Tian” is done in the temple as the emperors did twice a year. In Beijing there stands the famous “temple of heaven” which the emperors used twice a year to give burning sacrifices to “Tian” or “heaven” translated as supreme God who created the heaven and the earth.
