Thanks for your passion. Those of us who live in the U.S. know that he is painting a paradise that does not exist. Yesterday I drove on the road that leads out from my house, it is partially repaved because the county lacked the funds to completely repave the entire road. The part that is not paved has pot holes all over and these potholes keep getting bigger. The sides of the road has trash dumped here, there and everywhere because the county doesn’t have enough funds to pick up the trash and keep the countryside clean. One of my relatives lives in San Francisco and she has had her car broken into three times in the last year. I am able to go to our small downtown and dine out once in awhile but the cost of a dinner has gone up fourfold and a 20% tip is considered low. I have to drive everywhere because public transportation is nonexistent where we live. The price of gas in California is one of the highest in the nation. The other day, filling up my medium sized sedan cost over $70US. These things are very different from what conditions were even a few years ago. I live here and these and other negative things are constant everyday reality and I am not a politically minded person and have no ax to grind against anyone.

You're quite right, LIzzy. It's the BIG things that count, not the little things that he goes ga-ga over. If you visit downtown LA or San Francisco or NYC, it's really easy to find homeless encampments. Sure, you won't fine them in small-town America but that isn't the point. There shouldn't be so many homeless encampments in the richest nation on earth. There are no subways in small-town America but in NYC, the subways are disgusting and dangerous. All across the country, it's not hard to find poorly-maintained infrastructure like roads, bridges, railways, power grids, etc. Texas suffered a major blackout when its power grid crashed in the middle of winter in 2021. If you have money and you live in a desirable neighbourhood, life can be very good, indeed. *But this is simply not true for the majority of Americans.* Gun violence and mass shootings are a concern in major urban centres. He's right, they're not a big concern in small-town America but that doesn't mean America is a "phenomenal" country. Millions of Americans can't afford health insurance. Many of them go bankrupt over medical bills. Many of them die from untreated diseases. The USA has a _declining_ rate of life expectancy. How can this be in a phenomenal country? Millions of middle-class Americans struggle to make end meet. Many work multiple jobs. Many queue up at food banks. What on earth happened to middle-class America??? He is unaware that America is in economic and social decline. It's gradual. It's not apparent everywhere. But on average, it is absolutely true. And when the next financial crisis occurs because of America's crushing $35 trillion national debt, he may find that the decline is suddenly catastrophic instead of gradual.

The addicts, the crime rates are just symptoms of underlying problem. What need to see are stats that are more important and revealing. The US is staring down a real estate cliff. There are literally billions of loans on real estate loans that are likely to be defaulted because the owners can't get enough rent to cover them. We are also seeing a huge increase in household credit card debts. This is coupled with the household savings saved up during COVID are all gone now. This means that the average American household is out of money, living paycheck to paycheck and using credit card to pay for living necessities. They are using credit cards to buy food, clothes and stuff you need to just survive. There is no way they can pay it back. So the US has trillions in credit card debts. These are just a few stats showing that the fundamentals of US economy are completely broken. The US government is borrowing at a rate of a trillion per 100 days, and their bonds even for the 1 year and 5 year just collapsed. The 10y and 30y bond market has already collapsed. Large lenders like other countries' central banks are avoiding lending money to the US government. What we are seeing is small lenders that will demand higher interest rates to lend their money. This means the days of cheap loans for the US government are gone. That makes servicing future loans to be more and more expensive. So we are also looking at a fiscal cliff for the US government within the next few years. There are huge issues in the American system that cannot be talked away with nice parks and lawns.

i real like your video . As a chinese , I knew our government had made some faults and some issues but our life had been changed completley last 30 years, I believed it was a biggest life changed in word past 35 year. for example ; 35 years ago our family could not afford bikes for every one in my family and now we had 4 cars now. and not only our family ,every one I knew in china , their life quality had changed completely . thanks for my courntry .

I have been living in the US for over 40 years and still love the country along with many of its positives/advantages. Personally, I love much lower population density, particularly in the Western half of the US (I live in the north-central Oregon) along with its amazing natural, beautiful places which are uncrowded...would hesitate to live in China However, I decry the native American propaganda insisting that the US hasn't declined significantly in the last 40 years .. and continues declining even further without anyone attempting to understand that the entire World has changed significantly. In summary, I believe that the western, "developed " countries like the US, EU, Canada, Australia etc are stuck in their past glories/ accomplishments/ developments in providing the leadership to the World. The Western governments and people want to continue their past privileges without any attempts to compete with other countries on equal basis/ working harder. Everyone in the West complains about unfair competition coming today from BRICS block countries (lead by China) and all planning is focused on outdated forms of economic/political/social objectives completely unsuitable for modern circumstances.

I see homeless people three blocks away from 911 memorial in NYC everyday. The area I live is an affluent suburb area. But there are burglaries and stolen vehicles reported from time to time. The worse part is they are getting worse, not better. As in the brown spot analogy, if it is small and shrinking, I can live with it. But if it is clearly visible in multiple places and are growing, shouldn’t I worry about the entire lawn is infected by some diseases or bugs ?

Many libraries in the US that you don’t want to go. There are so many homeless stay there to enjoy AC or take naps in the summer, even occupying toilets for longtime to clean their bodies. You may catch bedbugs and bring them home if you sit on the library’s sofas . Some libraries are smelling bad!
