The other scam is the customer waits for you outside the restaurant and tries to get you to hand you there order and tells you that they cancelled the order .

There is a way to change the delivery address legitimately through the app. A text asking for a different place is when I say "I am only allowed to drop where the app tells me to, it will not let me complete it if I am not located there.. but you can change it in the app so it will let me go there!" Funny...they never actually change the address!

If you can walk into a store and they are telling you , your beginning recorded or you approach a house and they tell you that your being recorded. What's the difference from me telling them the same thing.

I had a scammer call me and claim to be DD. He said the order was being cancelled and they wanted to give me a bonus. Asked me to enter in a code on my pay details. I had found at that day that there was a death in the family and was beyond distracted. I did what he asked to get him off the phone. It took a long time to get everything squared away and get my account back. It was really frustrating.

If its at hotel with no room number just ask front desk to call them or tell front desk their name to find room number

Hey coop! Could you please do a video on the safety issues in the app? I’m a premier dasher in Minneapolis with 6000 deliveries 🚚 that often mentors new dashers. One example yesterday was a new dasher that was attacked by a customer for a fake id alcohol delivery. He was not aware of the emergency 🆘 911 slide on the app. Good example. Many thanks!

That’s the reason why I keep my acceptance rate high as possible so I can unassigned from these lowlifes. I consider myself a pick up and drop off artist. Lol. If you ask me for anything extra in the app ,if you try calling me before or after the delivery, you will be assigned another Dasher therefore your food is going to be even later than you expected and probably cold. So do the right thing order all your jellies and ketchup and sauces within the app, and only then we can be friends.

I got called by "customer service" telling me i was going to get a bonus for a VIP customer. Thry called the customer too. Idk if it was legit but I hung up and told the customer not to give them any info.

I then called the correct number for Door Dash support I had saved in my phone from when I first started dashing to confirm it was a scam. Having the correct number is very important! Another scam that they are pulling is They will give you a fake address, and you try to contact them, but Their contact is Not valid. By that, I mean the phone number rings seven times, and then Hangs up, and they don't respond to any texts.

I’ve been attempted to be scammed once. They offered me a $86 dollar gas card and asked me to pull over to speak. I knew right away dd doesn’t care if we speak and drive and definitely isn’t giving a gas card. My order was a stack but the kfc order was for one bbq sauce going to a hotel . The number you gave us dd support did come up when they called so just because it comes up as dd they spoof that so pointing that out and try not to be scammed!

Great information! Scammer tried to tell me they were DD and that the order was fraudulent because the customer used a stolen credit card. I listened and thanked them, immediately hung up called DD myself and promptly unassigned the order. Ahaha

Genuinely worthwhile content. I had something like that once, just said "yeah sure" hung up and unassigned. I was lucky though the people who were doing it clearly hadn't done it much before and were struggling to even start the convo with me, first month or so i could of fallen for it. Same location/zone i ever interacted with a clearly intoxicated customer, actually wait no thats happened a lot, but like falling over for their food type rather then just smelling like grass and staring at me all crazy like i got a spacesuit on and just walked out of the mothership (its legal here)

Hey buddy you so right another issue I had tonight. I made a drop off and took a picture of it and they said it wasn’t delivered so it’s kind a strange on two deliveries my phone buffering had to shut down reboot. I felt this was someone trying to scam me twice. I had to dispute it and it was very disappointing

When you deliver, if at all possible get the house number in the drop off picture. If you can't get LOTS of the surroundings and use a separate app that doxxes the image and use THAT picture for the drop off image. If you can prove you WERE at the right place and the food is in the pic, you are good and will get paid. Now, if they meet you outside and you feel it is sus, tell them the app is REQUIRING an image of the food at the address, which is geo-tracked. Then take the pic of their hand holding the bag.

It doesn't always work. Sometimes , even when you have proof it doesn't get overturned. I was ticked off everytime I looked at my stats and saw that RED demerit. I had taken a Pic, with the house number, when the woman called to say she hadn't gotten it. I was still parked across from her house when she was calling DD. Looked directly at me. Still annoys me.

You cannot get in trouble for unassigning an order before actually confirming pick up. However unassigning to many and going below 90% completion rate will get you deactivated. Also drivers do not have the ability to cancel an order, after pick up. Only the customer or DD customer service can do that. Edit: BTW. any order you wait more then 10 mins for can be unassigned with no penalty to your ratings.

Hit the question mark in the top right corner. From what I've seen, "the store has an issue" will give you a few times to select this and get "worry free unassign" with no pay. "I have an issue" usually will affect your completion rate. If you select " the store has an issue" too often, it'll eventually dock your completion rate anyway

@@briolivia I never unassign unless it's super late, and I dont find a difference between store issue and my issue. But you can usually go there to worryfree unassign after waiting 10 minutes. Don't need to wait for that slow pop up.

I have called on safety issues twice. Both were way out of town. Far from any other place. One didn't answer my texts or calls asking for better directions. and as I got farther and farther down this crazy, remote path I realized he knew exactly where I was. I was barely able to turn around but I managed and got the he'll out of there. The other time it was remote and he directed me to keep walking down some path. I glanced back at my truck thinking, that's about as far as I can run. I did. And called DD saying "I'm on my way back to town. Please don't ever send anyone there again!" Do not ignore your senses. DD can see you exactly where you have been. You will not be trouble. They can see you tried.

You know it's not Doordash Customer Service if they deal English. I dashed for years and never spoke to a customer service agent I could understand. What about when you go to pick up an order and are told it's already been picked up. I'm in Cleveland Ohio, Mr Chicken is very good at this fortunately I had the customer on the phone saying food was never delivered. Apparently some stores have friends that need food so they contact them to pick up the food, getting Dasher in trouble with Doordash for stealing food because customer calls about not receiving their order. This is how I got deactivated even when customer was trying to call store and finally Doordash To no avail. Customer was furious with manager and the way he spoke to me threatening to have me banned from ever taking an order from Mr Chicken again.

Locally there are people who will send in someone to pick up the order before the dasher gets there...This way they get twice the food since DD will ask them to re-make the order. Many local shops now require you to tap the confirm button in their sight while handing over the food to make sure it really IS a legitimate DD app in process..since it seems some scammers now have fake screenshots to use for pickup?

I would be calling doordash at this point. You do know that this person has your name on their app. Even without your actual phone number. They have your name, they have the area you do doordash. Oh look been verified such and such in such in such city. Oh here's a match now they got an address. everything is online anymore. It's why I use a VPN and register to not have my info on bin verified.
