@@jayI think you made a good choice with changing the thumbnail. I like that other style too but a lot of people are familiar with that look from her videos, so it may lead to more clicks.

Keep in mind - that one of the most popular topics on KZbin (and any other SoMe) is - how to get success on KZbin (or whatever SoMe you are using)... so you cannot always use the success of such videos as an example of what is possible on the platform. Creators on a given platform are very likely very interested in how to get success on that platform, and they are probably also among the most active users of that platform.

I’d like to add a fourth category for the content buckets- videos to TEST. Sometimes you have a hunch about a video idea but no data necessarily to validate it. I’ve found it super useful to test those videos in one of my time slots every month.

So glad you interviewed April! She is terrific and her channel deserves more subs. I have all her KZbin templates on my Notion app. This advice is great. Ali Abdaal mentioned the same thing about creating evergreen content by doing a variation of other viral videos and topics! Another stellar interview!

Great chat...I really liked the points about balancing research VS going with your intuition. It is definitely a fine line to walk. I also didn't know she totally deleted her original channel. Quite a difficult move! Looking forward to more videos from both you and Aprilynne.

I've watched and took notes from quite a few of the videos on this amazing playlist, however on this video I find it challenging to even write the initial notes (Cornell method), it feels like as soon as I start to grasp what Aprilynne is trying to say the topic is packed up, Around the 30 min mark I started skipping ahead to hopefully find something I can write down but I couldn't, around the 37 min mark I got to the point I can't watch anymore even tho I know there is value in the topic because I literally couldn't extract anything out of it. The absolute opposite of this video in terms of understandability and how easy it was to digest the value is the episode with Phil Agnew, I honestly think that episode leveled my content game by multiple levels while this video felt like I learned nothing (My notes pad only has the 3 video types which is pretty low value for what was intended). Have a blessed day :D

Ironic that this video was about making intros when she practically copied and pasted Jon Dormans video: how to create a K KZbin video (to blow up your channel) at points she even used line for line, bar for bar, aswell as the same be-roll

She deserves a spot here for sure. So many copycats of her channel now. Suddenly seeing her everywhere. About time tho. She is a great example of why authenticity is winning on this platform.
@flyhyland7 ай бұрын
... lol.... *sigh* . When she straight up copy and pasted Jon Dormans video for the video that blew her up.
@TheGoldenboyo4 ай бұрын
@@flyhyland Only just seen this: Her video title was "how to make a killer youtube intro (for the 2024 algorithm)" and Jon Dormans was "how to create a killer youtube video (to blow up your channel)." That is not a 'straight copy' at all. It's taking heavy inspiration for a title in the same niche which is what every single creator on the platform does. Plus her thumbnail was visually completely different and took zero visual inspiration from Jon's. His thumbnail was arguably harder to emulate because it was a unique standalone idea whereas hers had a 'replicable, format-style appearance, which is probably why so many have tried to copy her thumbnail. Both are great creators in their own right but always annoys me when people say someone "copied an idea"...when it's clearly just inspiration with a transformative edge. KZbin as a platform would not have survived without the principle of transformative content. It's a basic pillar of the whole platform. The best book that creators should read is "How to steal like an artist" by Austin Kleck or the documentary "Everything is a remix." Both highlight this point.

What world do you live? She is big already! She applys All She is talking here at her channel! She have a espressive results…
@flyhyland7 ай бұрын
@@VictorMachadoJesus Hardly. She's literally made two videos in the past half a year, one of which only has 14k views. She literally had two videos that blew up somewhat (not even massively, hasn't even reached a million yet) and now she acts like she's an expert, going on all these other channels proclaiming as such. She's primarily a social media socialite, not a KZbinr. No hate towards her, she's done well, but I don't like it when people suddenly act as if they're the big deal (and trick other people into thinking this too) when they've hardly even done anything.
