Ultimate Baseball Training I need help. I want to make my highschool baseball team. I have the mamba mentality. And I am willing to put in the most work possible. But the problem is that. I live in Georgia. There is nothing wrong with Georgia. Is just the weather has been pretty bad lately. so I can’t go outside to work on my game. What should I do. Thank you.

I’m 15 just started lifting but the day after I lift when I go hit off the tee I feel sore and I feel like crap when I’m doing my tee routine
@aidenc.91243 жыл бұрын
You're muscles aren't used to working out probably. I started lifting weights again after about a month of break and after that I was sore. Now that I'm working out several times during the week I don't feel that much soreness anymore.

Love your content, Justin. I took a special interest in this video because in addition to coaching baseball I have been a strength & conditioning coach for 19 years, primarily working with baseball players. Good direction on program design, although I take a different approach when it comes to explosive training. This kind of training is critical for a baseball player who is performing the fastest movements in sports at the hips, elbow & shoulder. Cleans are certainly good power training options for football & basketball players, but I stay away from them with my baseball players for several reasons. Cleans, by nature, train linear power but when considering the 2 most fundamental movements in baseball (throwing & hitting) you'll see lateral & rotational power, so there isn't as much application of power from cleans to baseball when compared to other power training options. Also, cleans & other Olympic lifts are extremely technical & require exhaustive teaching to insure athletes perform them safely & effectively. Most important, though, I don't like the stress that cleans place on the elbows, wrists & shoulders...which are so critical for baseball players. In other words, I know there are many ways to skin a cat so I defer to training that can meet objectives while decreasing the probability of injuries. Instead of using cleans for power training I progress my baseball players through a series of overhead & rotational med ball exercises while also incorporating many variations & differing loads of jumps, leaps, hops & sprints. Wanted to share my experience in case it could be helpful. Keep up the great work on the videos, Justin!

Thanks so much, Amanda! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video and I really appreciate the great feedback. Med ball exercises are some of my favorite and I love to incorporate them in as many workouts as possible. I think they are one of the most practical exercises for baseball players that actually translates to more on-field success. I also love adding in plyometrics, jumps, leaps, hops, sprints, etc. as well. Thanks for watching!

E K for core I recommend you work through different plank progressions to gradually make it harder as this will improve your core stability, focus on becoming more explosive so make sure your including plyometrics including plyo pushups.Sprints are also great

You need to train legs, if you don’t have weights then do jump squats, lunges, sprints, really high rep calf raises to help with injury orevention

As a ten year old, can I lift ten pounds for half an hour? I would spend 1 and half to two hours in the basketball gym
@van58295 жыл бұрын
You should just stretch do jumping jacks and run or jog to warm up. Then go out and play baseball. Maybe pushups and body weight squats. 10 year olds should NOT lift weights. You should wait until your 16 or 17 years old. You can get very very strong just by doing body weights.

The biggest difference between body builders working out, and athletes like baseball players working out,, is that body builders lift just to get huge. Baseball Players lift to strengthen certain muscles that allow than to preform better.

Reverse the movements.. baseball is pattern overload (twisting one way to throw and hit) focus on uncoiling your back and rotator cuffs.. Deadlifts and rows and pulling exercises are a must Primal pattern movement circuits full body or upper/ lower. Front squats .lunges.. a push a pull a twist and bend Explosive lifts and uni lateral movements help because we’re doing a lot one leg at a time, etc
