bullish on rivian??? how??? Rivian is not losing $33k/vehicle like so many are touting. That loss number is "gross loss;" which is meaningless. In 2Q24, Rivian delivered 13,790 vehicles and reported a gaap loss of $1.5 bill. Rivian is losing $108.8k per vehicle. Why? Because Rivian's expenses are high while its revenues are tiny. In 2Q24, interest expense was $75.0 mill. Spread out over the 13,790 vehicles delivered, works out to $5,439 of interest on each vehicle delivered. Interest expense doesn't factor into "gross profit." This is why Rivian's sleazy CEO keeps saying Rivian will make a "gross profit." And why he never says "net profit." The problem is only getting worse. Massive growth in expenses while Rivian confirms flat production. Hence, this is why Rivian is headed for bankruptcy
