Here's my biggest issues with how IVE is managed. 1. Whoever is in charge of IVEs social media management has to hate them. Like why after almost 2 years have IVE never done a dance challenge with other groups outside of the company? Despite the girls saying they want to? What tf is up with the weird gatekeeping that's going on with IVE never being able to interact with other groups? And no one can tell me it's their choice when there are multiple videos of starship staff ushering the girls away from other 4th gen groups. Some dives actually got pissed at me for pointing this out but collaborations, even if it's something as simple as dance challenges are beneficial for promotion. 2. Why tf are we hearing the same songs over and over when IVE have 17 Korean songs?!?!? Like the way international kpop stans would have ate up hypnosis. Lips even had a little viral moment and nothing. Mine or Shine with me would have been perfect for their fancon too but they performed the same set list as before just adding on I AM and Kitsch. I'm actually scared for IVEs future because starship can certainly make a profitable group but they have always been terrible at management and promotion. Every group that has debut from that company has had the biggest potential only to eventually be screwed by their own company. I really hope more Dives stop being cupcakes because when IVE fall off I'm not going to hold back on cussing every fan out that shamed those of us who care.

Its even more frustrating when you see how gorgeous their mvs are , you could do so much with the album designs based on the mvs, but no, words on a blank colour is the best they could think of. I also hate how they dont protect ive from any of the unjustified hate they get, other than the sojang situation ill give them that, i have seen alot of companies sue stupid haters, but when the most hated gg of the fourth gen gets hate for just being there, they dont do anything. Also, I really hope they are able to perform more of their songs, especially shine with me.

because wjsn renewed their contracts earlier this year and this whole year we havent gotten any group content except for their concert which was in around january they renewed on march 3rd and told the fans more content would come. all members have done individual activities yet over this whole year there were about 7-9 uzzu tapes (basically like ive on) and most of them were released in the second half of this year and only by 4 different members. though i understand they were and still are busy with their dramas, survival shows and musicals i dont see why they mentioned more content to come when we have gotten not even the bare minimum. for context their activities individually are seola - radio show host, bona - a drama released earlier this year and filming for another one, exy - drama filming and writing songs for OTHER groups and artists (she was a writer in IVE - Lips) soobin - is a regular on a black box show, musical with yeonjung, luda- left the company but still part of wjsn and i think filming a drama, dawon - also left starship but is still part of the group and all we know is shes focusing on her health mentally and physically as per her instagram, eunseo - college student and is mostly seen supporting her members activities the most, yeoreum - shot a drama, went on a variety show with dayoung where they sold k-product in busan, filmed queendom puzzle, her drama is being aired, will debut in EL7Z UP ON SEPTEMBER 14!!!! (queendom puzzle) Dayoung - is a regular on a soccer show and filmed a show where they sold k-products with yeoreum, yeonjung rested and was on a musical with yeonjung. ex members - chengxiao, xuanyi and mei qi have left earlier this year and have been promoting in china for the past 5 years. thought chengxiao is/was in korea for unknown reasons? basically 7 years and have NEVER ever gotten proper treatment and thats sse for you!! bona has gained a significant amount of popularity through her drama last year called twenty five twenty one where she played fencer ko yurim, and wjsn has won queendom 2 last year but since they won they needed a comeback so it was very rushed and possibly low effort. and the only content maker we got aka UNIVERSE was shut down earlier this/last year. so yeah

contents wise i honestly think it's a scheduling issue with starship (that they have to fix!!) because back then they jam-packed monsta x's schedule to the brim that they had no time to actually film their own group variety show even during the pandemic (they only got to do monmukgo now because starship finally let them have breaks they've been demanding for years), so the similar thing can be happening to ive since they've been jampacked since forever leaving little time for them to film more 1,2,3 IVE episodes and more stuff for the fans and starship should really ease up their schedules a bit. (let's be real, filming content takes lots of time) note: cravity only has consistent content because they have more time to film for vity park before they started touring and members are doing most of the work by themselves, all of their covers, vlogs, and self-cam mvs are filmed and edited using their own devices and the members studied the algorithm for tiktok to promote their own group. the boys are swimming to survive so i hope no one comes after them.

Starship is too focused on having IVE perform at every festival out there, have a fancon & concerts then give the girls a proper comeback schedule and time slot that doesn’t have them always compete with the biggest acts in the industry ( look at this summer, it was SO empty of big releases, and so was the beginning of the year so whyyyy release at the same time as all the other digital monsters??? ) and give them proper variety content which is SO important in today’s kpop. Their approach is quick money rather than longevity. They should be the smartest at releasing music so the girls can increase their chances at winning awards and breaking records which will inturn build their reputation and prioritize entertaining content that will target as many kpop fans as possible. Fancons, concerts, festivals should be the second most important thing.

Okay, Cravity is not the group with the highest sales in the company, but they do not sell at a very low level either. I agree with most of things you've pointed out but 2 things. 1st about Japan promotion, not every kpop group needs to promote in Japan with Japan songs. Especially for IVE, their goals are clear, Korea & Global market. They did good in Japan, for me it's a bonus. I hope they put more effort in promoting IVE globally instead. 2nd, for YT contents. While i do agree with the lack of content in terms of cover song, dance cover, but I don't think they have to create another version of 123 IVE, more like they don't have time for that. Yujin practically has no time to rest this year, so i don't think creating another FUN content is a great idea. Unless maybe do it for other members, just like how Rei with Follow Rei. And also, they have dance practice for B-side actually, but they made it paid-content, which i think it sucks. They should've released it here actually, so more fans can access it. 😌 Anw.. thank you for your great video!

The group is way too big in my opinion and most of the members though talented lack charisma. The same goes for Cravity - as much as I like them single members just don't stand out. It's much different from Monsta X stage presence and personal charisma of their single members.

Ive is elegant and minimalist so idk the album design never bothered me but the inclusion do you get a cd one photocard and some random member inclusion all for the shitty price of 30$ I save up after each comeback so I can buy the next one and I have all albums but in reality only a few cards and some member posters it's sad because I also collect new Jean's and enhypen who have 5 - 3 cards plus multiple inclusions per album for 15$ - 20$ it's really shitty I think starship should at least give two cards and a member inclusion especially since ive are their biggest and pretty much only active group at the moments please for their October comeback 😭

So dramatic lol I agree with most of these points except the transparency one (give people their privacy) but I would call it room to improve and to re-prioritize their schedule rather than sabotage. Like their first two songs were based in greek mythology (idk if afterlike was too) but their song I AM doesn't seem to be based in that concept or like any concept? I am not sure about after like but I AM MV did have a pretty good concept of not being afraid of going up and down in their lives. The whole song itself has extremely high and low notes and with all the imagery of plane taking off and wony jumping, it really fits the concept! They showed off their 2022 year's success and awards and also "not being afraid to go up or down from there" was the concept. Essentially, IVE's concept is chaebol crush (looking expensive) and self love so I didnt find it deviating at all. I am still not sure about After Like, but those iconic fireworks do for me I guess.

imo its completely normal to debut in Japan with a Japanese version of a kr song, a lot of groups do it tbh. and they have released wave now too. also on the album front one reason sales are high is because they have an insane number of fansigns and lucky draws but it is completely exhausting to be a fan because of this and while it sells albums it also turns fans against the company and makes them fed up (even though we still keep buying the cards😭🤚) (also this is a problem with the entire industry atm but the amount for ive is still more excessive than most) I think its weird they don't really promote the bside on music shows and even weirder not to bring them out at music festivals because that's completely normal.. and it's so weird they don't do any dance challenges or anything with other idols esp izone members ... its like they want to pretend izone didn't exist. like ik a lot of fans are probably newer or weren't around when izone were active but a lot also were and it would definitely make them happy and make more people tune into ive.. IVE is being promoted as the new princesses of K-Pop and with an exclusivity air so of course no interaction with other groups. Why to promote songs when the money is in modeling adds and brand deals? And sorry, we all know they can not carry live yet their own music. Other point is their choreos are pretty because the camera work so I do not see the need for performance videos maybe that is the reason for it. I think a lot of this is because they are taking BP lessons on how to promote with the bare minimum.

Another thing abot Starship that annoys me is their shady behavior. They're so quick to take down any videos that criticize them or paint them in any negative light (like the video saying wonyoung got injured) but literally do nothing about the insane cyber witch-hunt that Wonyoung has to indure. And please don't give me the "companies can't do much about online hate" excuse. These companies have the power to manipulate charts and completely blacklist people from the industry. The IVE girls have star quality, their popularity is only growing and the Yujin/Wony duo is a blessing for any company, they are practically everywhere (in sk) these days, but the company isn't promoting enough songs and handles hate terrible. Starship makes themselves look shadier and shadier, and on top of that they seem to be giving no rest to IVE this year. First full album to fan concerts to another comeback in October and a world tour, all while doing their solo shoots and such. They need to get a grip before they burn them out.

I remember in august 2022 I joined a GO for Afterlike albums not knowing what they'll look like, and the honest shock over how simplistic the mf album cover was was just- idk... literally especially when its on a shelf, the "side of it" (i'm sorry english isn't my 1st language) is just ive's logo + "VER ??? After LIKE" in the plainest font known to mankind like wtf. i was so so disappointed... 2.) Tbh i think ive do so well because they don't do tiktok challenges. Look at Le Sserafim thier latest title track and B side are mass hated due to over promotions and same with Fifty Fifty cupid but look at Enhypen their song Bite me is doing really well and still charting because they only did a few tiktoks. I think ive songs age well because we volunteer to hear them and willing play them instead of being bombarded anytime you open youtube or tiktok. Sure idol interactions would be nice but I think it would damage them especially when thier targeted for anything doing tiktoks with idols could cause dating scandals, bowing issues again and so much more.

Some people are annoyed but it's just one click away from beeing happy ;) But not having any is a bit... stupid on side of the company. They (starship) do the bare minimum. They do change from time to time to adapt with the market but they are very slow. Although starship artists are insanely talented and original but starship always avoid to be trendsetters. It's so frustrating to see how other rookies under big agencies get excellent treatment, great designs and promotions while IVE is under "the privileged kakao" (according to kpopers) and they s4ck at such simple things... And you will say but well Starship is a mid-size agency... but they did great simple things with their other groups for example WJSN had great outfits that received praise, crvt at some point promoted their bsides and they have more freedom with their tiktok, lives and many of the promotional posters looked more creative than IVE. They gve them a full album and ignored the songs that aren't Kitsch or I AM, Blue Blood had a huge hype that should have gotten more, it's sad because IVE is nominated in MelOn for Album of the year and it's the album that has the best chance of win..but you can imagine if they would have promoted their other songs better, if they are going to ignore the songs i hope ive's next album will be a mini album.

I love this video and I hope it somehow makes it’s way to Starship. I just want to add more: 1. The BIGGEST problem I have is Release Schedule & Marketing. Ever since their first comeback, IVE’s releases have ALWAYS been scheduled during other major released, from LOVE DIVE to After LIKE to I AM and now their new comeback, Starship CONSISTENTLY chooses the most challenging times for a release. So far it worked and IVE managed to always come on top but until WHEN do we have to force our luck? This entire summer was free of any major releases besides NJ & Jungkook and so was the beginning of the year, why not release during those time slots so the girls can achieve more PAKs & Music Show wins instead of always choosing the one or two months when literally everybody and their mom comes back? Not to mention how littlw interest they put in releasing at appropriate times to increase their chances at winning deasangs at the year end awards. If I AM would have came out in Feb or March, it would have won this year as well, and now with the new release, it’s literally at the end of the tracking period meaning their next single will once again probably be in April or something like that. Was it that hard to wait and release in November so it’s right at the beginning of the tracking period? How can a company be so terrible at scheduling their groups releases and not try to increase their chances as much as possible at winning as many awards as possible and therefore build their reputation??? IVE is the strongest girl group in Korea, they could SWEEP at all the year end awards and at music shows if only their releases were scheduled better. I just cannot comprehend why their company just doesn’t care??? It makes me angry forreal. 2. Styling: I am sick and tired of the terrible styling choices, so far their music video stylings have been fine but everything else is mostly a miss. I don’t even want to talk about how the company constantly recycles the same outfits. I know the fans blame the stylist but really, if the company doesn’t give the stylist a budget, there’s nothing for them to do BUT reuse clothes. There are groups that don’t sell half of what IVE sells and still have better and new outfits everytime. The company is simply CHEAP, their investment in this group is minimal besides the music & music video production. 3. Boring content. IVE’s latest video at Lotte World was a hit and even managed to trend at nr. 3 in Korea on youtube and that’s because the episode was actually so much fun. Their team needs to be more creative and give the girls funny & entertaining content opportunities like how other companies do with their groups. IVE’s lack of content that properly showcases their friendship and bond is the reason why so many believe the girls don’t like each other or enjoy their company. Same with Rei’s show... listen, I LOVE Rei and dives will tune in to watch anything but we need exciting content that either has guests or taps into Rei’s funny side to draw in the general public. Other female idols managed to have successful variety shows because their company knew how to create entertaining content. IVE’s team needs a revamp ASAP, even though I believe they know how to do many great things such as the music, music videos, solo promotions, they are lacking when it comes to understanding what the fans want from the additional content they put out and the marketing & scheduling team needs to be FIRED NOW. Don’t get me started on how messy the fancon dates were and how the comeback happened in the middle of the fancon, all the flying around the world and coming back home the next day and etc. Starship’s perspective when it comes to IVE is very short sighted, they are more focused on making quick money by touring & fancons & sending the girls at every festival then to build a reputation ( and therefore LONGEVITY ) for them by going after the awards, choosing the best timeslots to release music & break records and so on. It’s unbelieveable at how little they care about building on this incredible momentum they have with this group. If IVE was in HYBE’s hands TRUST that they would be so much bigger right now. Starship will burn IVE’s flame really quick if they don’t start prioritizing their releases first and everything else ( concerts, etc ) second. Stop sacrificing the thing that ACTUALLY matters the most. I PRAY dives tags Starship and asks them to watch this video & read the comments because all we want is for the girls to reach their maximum potential. That’s it.

Starship is definitely acting cocky and inconsiderate when it comes to giving the girls comebacks. I get why they’re confident since ive are so successful and always do so well, but it wouldn’t hurt making them come back without so much competition for once. The timing of the releases is pretty bad and it’s not helping the girls at all. Like you said, their team needs a revamp, especially their social media management. It feels like they are managed by a bunch of boomers who don’t know how to capitalize on trends and please fans, and this is hindering their growth.

IVE are far more busy than MX or Cravity. They tried to film additional content for REI before their previous comeback and in the end she had to skip the comeback because of the health issues she got due to packed schedule. I prefer they get more time to sleep instead of filming additional content and pretending to be happy while desperately wanting to get some rest.

And have minimal knowledge of the group, just taking on business point-of-view and considering that relations btw company and group is fine* I really can't think of any reason why a company would sabotage their own artist if everthnig is fine btw the group and company and the group is actually doing quite well, I think its just the case of management... the company doesn't know exactly how to manage an artist who is successful in this era.. maybe they just need to hire more creative people and think from new prespective to be upto date with the trends of the industry. maybe they lack in vision as company genuinely.. they don't know what they doing( albums being boring to look at) is causing harm.. maybe they just taking the safe way of having minimal design.. yep. I just received my STAYC album and it's full of stickers and stuff (not that I'm collecting this, I'm more into a nice photobook and the music). Even tripleS LOVElution album have way more than what starship delivered. It's a shame. I'm a DIVE since their debut and the album is my personal AOTY but they promoted only these two songs (I AM and Kitsch) and pre-release also Blue Flame and they made a video for Not Your Girl. Where is Mine? Hypnosis? Lips? Lips would have been perfect for a special video. They have the ressources but starship is just lazy. During Afterlike I asked for a mini album for the next time and they heard me... I thought :(

Starship are not perfect but they are far from being a shitty company. Did IVE become so popular on their own, just because they are so talented? It doesn't work this way, not in this industry, there are numerous examples for that. And which company would be better for them in your opinion? Hybe with their overly autotuned, short tracks for the Western tiktok users? YG with their weird Teddy music and rare comebacks ala BP? JYP with their unpopular song choices of the last years? Who is your prodigy company out there? And what's is the point of making numerous versions of one song, who needs them? It's just a waste of money and the production costs are deducted from the girls' income. Just because LS is desperate to catch up with NJ doesn't mean IVE needs them too. Also Starship is pursuing haters online and they issued statements on the current status, did you miss them? It's alright to criticize the company, they do make mistakes, but to completely diminish their work just because you are not happy with some points shows that you still possess a childish mentality and probably haven't worked in a company yet. There could be rational reasons for some decisions and just because you don't know them doesn't make this specific company a 'shitty' one.

I don't mind their album designs being ugly as long as the music is great, and it is. All IVE's titles are amazing, i like Le Sserafim more because i'm Sakura biased since Produce 48 but Unforgiven was so mid, and IVE has no mid title track yet. Le Sserafim smashes in visual concepts but the music is not always great, while IVE has ugly visual concepts while the music (which is the most important, right?) is always dope. The reason why the girls don't do b-sides on stage and vlogs together more often is because i think they don't have time for it, Wonyoung and Yujin has so many solo stuff to do, and maybe they are not super close like we would want them to be. I mean... CRAVITY seems to be super close, you can feel in their videos, i don't feel like IVE girls are super close as a whole.

I wanna seem some youtubers talk seriously about the huge mediaplay difference between Ive and New Jeans. Hybe has become the king of mediaplay and the motto "fake it til you make it". Their groups are marketed as the most popular, talented, trendy, and labelled as "it girls" in all their plethora of promo.....until everyone believes it's actually true. I need Starship (and other companies) to start taking note and utilizing some of Hybe's marketing strategy. Unfortunately, in this era, marketing is more important than talent, charisma or organic virality. Hybe's mediaplay is one of the main reasons why I don't follow any of their artists, as all the praises online feel so fake and exaggerated. Still I agree with you that it works for many people who follow an artist because of their reported success. It would be interesting to know how much this media play costs, I am not sure if Starship have such budgets.
