Exactly. Everyone was going off about it when they first debuted, and well yeah. Starship kinda threw a group together quickly and they didn’t know each other very well. So of course they kinda seemed like coworkers. It’s been a while now. They know each other and they are friends. Either way why do people care? Technically they are actually co workers. Being friends isn’t a requirement to being an idol 😭

I agree and i really think that wakeone is only using the members that they think are essential to carry the group, as for the others the company is pretty much acting as if they didn’t exist. I don’t think there’s any particular reason as to why they are neglecting some members, it really feels like they’re just an incompetent company that stopped trying with the group.

Another misconception that a lot of kpop stans have is, The more stage presence or power in an idols dancing makes them the best dancer in the group. Like you don’t even know how many times I have seen this come up, people think ryujin is the best dancer in itzy because of her stage presence and while she does have great stage presence, when it comes to dancing Yeji and Chaeryoung are better than her. Like she is a great dancer too but someone having great stage presence doesn’t make them the best in terms of dancing. I have a bunch of other examples of idols who have great sp/powerful dancing but aren’t the best dancers (the idols I mention are great dancers too tho) but then this comment would be way too long so I will just mention names, Jihyo of twice, San of Ateez, Yujin of ive and many more. Now don’t get me wrong, I love all the idols I mentioned here but even though they have the 2 things I mentioned above, that doesn’t make them the best dancer and I wish people would talk about this more.

Sorry but number 4 shows you simply don't understand the term lmao "GP friendly" means easy to digest. That MOST PEOPLE don't mind hearing it all the time on the radio. IVE's and New Jeans' songs are easy to listen and you don't get "tired" after listening it once or twice. But let's take more """noisy"""" and """"loud""""" songs as an example. I ult Ateez, but I can't listen to Guerilla on repeat. Same with some Stray Kids' title tracks. TLDR: GP friendly is NOT what people listen to in their free time. It's about what casual listeners enjoy hearing in the radio/tv/background noise while shopping

A misconception we NEEED to talk about is the idea (a lot of blinks and armies have) that popularity = talent. Basically the more popular the idol is then that means they are more talented than everyone. Yes I’m directly gonna call out blinks for this cus armies do say it but I hear blinks with this mindset more. A lot of blinks will believe that because their faves got a bunch of views that mean they are the best at singing, dancing, and rapping. Hell the way I would be rich if I got a dollar for every time blinks or even other K-pop Stan’s call their faves aces without even knowing what it means. Like someone told me an ace is someone who is popular and a visual- like I cannot I will cryyy. I would differ on point 4. There is a specific sound that is trendy amongst the general public obviously this evolves with the years and would not be the same as time passes. Songs with elements of jersey club, dnb, light vocals, upbeat and short lenght tend to peform better right now. like Rollercoaster, Eve Psyche, and Super shy. Obviously, with some exceptions.

6:35 bts does have a concept, while also being a message. two things at once. it's centered around life and identity in general, from their teen years of school, flings, etcto the era of youth and finding out yourself (hyyh as a whole was a masterpiece that set the precedent for so many coming of age kpop concepts/songs) and then reaching into self acceptance, love for yourself, for others and then we were actually supposed to have mots as a trilogy (ego, shadow, persona) but due to things happening they just made it into one album. everything that happened is a mere result of the pandemic and they were supposed to enlist post mots 7 era but didnt. i also think having a concept that is more cohesive and sensible is what makes things important. also, what defines "concept" entirely in kpop? some darker clothing and lip tint? where do we draw the line? can message not be a concept to some degree? i do agree sorta kinda but at the same time all those groups listed were more seamless with it. idle kind of always had a powerful sound to them with loud messages, and sonically their new music isnt TOO far off. same with ive with perpetuating the chic/chaebol heiress identity. with txt they also explore similar sections of youth and storytelling. the problem is when we reach territory like clc , nmixx, and kep1er who r doing whatever sticks to the wall. theres no bridge, theres no farmiliarities. just a budget and a dream. had kepler gone with up > giddy > gallieo they wouldve done much better. had nmixx debuted with dice, party o clock, lmlt, they couldve done so much better. had clc skipped where are you from and just done hogoblin to black dress to me to la vi en rose, they wouldve done so much better.

The misconceptions that kpop fans only stan group of visuals is still there. Even if the group full of visuals, if the group don't have hit songs, they won't be popular. It's not about visuals, or talents, but merely just hit songs. Notice how hard svt getting recognised by gp, even by kpop stan? Yeah, because they lack hit songs. When I mean hit, I meant huge hit songs. BTS start to get recognised not because they work harder than other, or more talented than other, it just merely hit songs they have. They were ignored for years until 2016 because Fire and BST were huge. Same with Exo. Their debut year went unnoticed until they released Growl. If kpop stan only stan visual, if only full visual group popular, then why suju popular when they had members like shindong? Eunhyuk? Why bigbang popular when they had daesung? Why 2ne1 popular? It simply bec they have hit songs.

Actually clc's concept change was a really smart move before girl crush no one was talking about them they got the only win in their career with girl crush concept and the only time that they were talked about was once they changed their concept

Honestly, I think the whole, extending Kepler’s contracts is just noise, marketing to get more interest in the group. I genuinely don’t believe any of the girls companies would keep them in there for example. Mashrio and yesso are set to join you with limelight.
