Why Didn't Bulma REBUILD Android 16? Could she and Doctor Brief replicate Doctor Gero's technology from the #CellSaga? ‪@LSMMIKE‬ explains in this #dragonballz #anime and #manga video!

Akira Toriyama felt like he served his purpose when he gave Gohan the motivation to let go.

Gero brought up that #16 was defective, saying that he was supposed to be a killing machine but somehow he became very passive. 16 brings this up in DBZ Kakarot. I believe even if Bulma built a new 16, it would’ve lacked the “defect” that made 16 unique in the first place. 16 truly was one of a kind.

As based as 16 is, he is ultimately nothing but a shameless throwaway plot device that did nothing but punch and hug bug man once and tell some kid who he never met before to let go of his rage. I think Toriyama was actually really glad to get him out of the story based on just that.

The healing pods, the infinite energy engine, human level AI. So many world changing inventions that she just didn't care about for some reason

I guess bulma could have rebuilt android 16, but Cell completely destroyed 16.

There’s no way 16’s self destruction would have killed Cell. Cell’s own self destruction didn’t kill him. And if 16’s blast would have destroyed the earth then wtf would have been the point lol?

you're right.. Gero and Bulma were two great scientists specialized on different general fields, Bulma could comprehend Gero's technology but she probably couldn't replicated it properly, just as Gero would probably be unable to create a time machine...

16 would have been perfect to hang around dr hedo and the surviving gamma. 16 being alive mean we would be seeing 17 more often too. 16 really changed him.

My headcanon theory is that 16 went to heaven and chose to stay there because he liked the birds there.

I still don't understand why a dragon powerful enough to raise the dead couldn't restore a robot in a separate wish. The wish wouldn't have even been subject to the one-year time limit. I guess that means they could still bring him back at any time.
