Honestly, the absolutely most satisfying part of this anime are the sometimes several minutes long scenes of Rimuru rapidly acquiring and combining/upgrading new skill especially his demon lord awakening, with just such a long chain of "Skill acquired; Upgrading Skill; Combining Skill; New Link Found; New Skill Acquiring; Combining Skill; New Link Found" Like geez, i haven't found any other show that can scratch that same powergamey itch that this show can.

The only other series I've found that feel similar is a webtoon called "The Gamer". Main character gets an ability that let's him treat himself and the world as if it were an RPG, and he metagames the hell out of it to min-max stats and builds to cheese through everything. Where everyone else has to train and endure just to get a little stronger, he can mindlessly autofarm fodder monsters to level up instantly, allocate free stat points to immediately get results, and spend skill points to learn op skills out of nowhere. It's busted and it's fun just to see how ridiculous he can become.

The reason Rimuru can combine skills at all is actually the effect of Degenerate, the skill he got from Shizue. Before that he was unable to combine or improve skills at all, other then the World System doing it for him. Degenerate is actually the arguable true key to Rimuru’s limitless potential, as being able to combine skills for ever greater effects would be impossible with out it. He’d be able to absorb skills, but he’d be unable to change or alter them in any way.

It's also a great way to modify and create items and magic. It also has control over an item's effects, thus allowing Rimuru to transfer useful functions to another item that needs it. There's also the fact that Rimuru can "take" things using this same skill, if the enemy's item has fire nullification, Rimuru can take it and then spam flame-based attacks. PS: Deviant doesn't seem to have power over souls, so skills that stick to the soul are off limits. (It's not until the demon lord evolution that Rimuru can surpass this limitation.)

"The Everyday Lives of Certain Adventurers" Basic summary: a side story focusing on the three idiot trio A.K.A Kabal, Ellen and Gido. The three idiot trio see a request to take care of a lesser demon that had been summoned in a mansion. 3. "Visit to the Unknown: Different Gate" Basic summary: A side story that takes place during "Rimuru’s Elegant Escape Play". While Rimuru is off staging kidnappings, Veldora and Ramiris open a portal to a post-apocalyptic world with cyborgs and engines made from mini stars and black-holes. Sadly, no magicules. The world almost gets destroyed because of the mini black-hole engine thingy I mentioned earlier. Rimuru arrives slaps Veldora with a paper fan, Veldora and Ramiris turn the post-apocalyptic world into a thriving planet with magic and spirits, the people of the world mistake Rimuru for god (I say MISTAKE but we all know Rimuru is the one and only true God) and Rimuru gets a new researcher.

Let me help you a bit by explaining the "Rank System" of this world. The rank system is a system used to determine an adventurer or monster's strength. It is important to note that ranks don't work the same for humans and monster. It is base on the inference that a party of at least 3 adventurers is fighting a single monster of the same rank. Both monster and adventurers are rank from F to A. Monsters also have a "-/+" sign attached to their ranks to indicate if they are in the lower or upper echelon of that rank. Note that not all parties of 3 adventurers can take down a monster of the same rank. For example, if a group of 10 rank C adventurers fought a monster of the same rank, the adventurers would likely win but there would still be casualties within them. Adventurers are rank base on their proficiency at anything while Monsters are rank mainly base on their magicule count. Note that because of this monsters of the same rank can be massively different in power. *Threat levels* Threat levels are given to monster that are rank A or above. They are rank base on how much threat they are to the human civilization. *A rank: Hazard-class* •Monsters of this level can take down a small village. *Special A rank: Calamity-class* •They can potentially take down a small nation. *S rank: Disaster-class* •Can easily take down small nations. Large nations would need to expend all of their resources to stop one. •This rank is often given to Demon Lords. Being a Demon Lord Seed is not enough to be in this class. Also note that being in the Demon Lord Council alone is enough to qualify as a Disaster-class. *Special S class: Catastrophe-class* •These are beings far more powerful than others. They are so rare that are almost mythical in nature. •Can easily take down any nation. Nations around the world would need to cooperate just to get a little chance of surviving. •Some key individuals that are mentioned in the anime to be in this class is Storm Dragon Veldora and Dragonoid "The Destroyer" Milim Nava. *Rimuru Tempest* Contrary to Rimuru's claim of being harmless, he was already at hazard-class when he was reincarnated. After getting named by Veldora and predating some monsters in the cave, Rimuru quickly gone up to Calamity-class. After consuming Charybdis his magicula count is already comparable to a demon lord at disaster-class. I'll stop here for now. If anyone have questions regarding this feel free to ask me.
