If Zenon is a dark parallel to Yuno, then Conrad is the same for Asta. Both started at rock bottom and had to climb tooth and nail to the top, with the difference being that Asta wasn't broken by society while Conrad lost all hope.

Conrad's insane. The crazy thing is his Key Magic at least in essence isn't anything special on its own. On its own, Conrad is basically magicless like Asta. But because he discovered he could steal and store magic, spells, Grimoires and Magic Items, he became an absolute powerhouse. He's also insanely smart with his magic too. He'll use every magic type he has at his disposal and combines it with multiple others. That's not even factoring in when he uses the Imperial Sword.

Wow, its really crazy to think that timeskip Asta is already roughly wizard king level. The fact that by himself Asta defeated base form Conrad AND compound Conrad shows just how powerful Asta really is. Even Julius with the help of multiple other captains wasn't able to beat base Conrad, let alone compound Conrad. Yet Asta defeated them BOTH with his own power.

The powerscaling makes absolutley no sense. How can Asta possibly beat Compound Conrad even though compound Conrad is supposed to be Conrad combined with the power of ALL the previous wizard kings and all of the magic he ever stole? It makes no sense and the movie makes Asta look insanely busted for no reason. Yami is supposed to be stronger than Asta during the Spade invasion, but if we are to believe that this movie is canon, than it makes Asta look much stronger than Yami. Asta even beating base form Conrad makes no sense considering even Julius and 7 other captains were not able to beat base form Conrad. Are we actually meant to believe that post-timeskip Asta can solo Julius and all captains at the same time??? At that point, just appoint him as the wizard king already.

It does make sense. Asta needed his devil arm essentially fused with his berserk from AND absorb Conrad’s attack and send it back at him.

@@Br0ku That doesn't explain how Asta was even able to hold a candle to base form Conrad before getting his devil arm. Base form Conrad should be stronger than Julius+ all the captains. Also, regardless of the reasoning behind why Asta beat compound Conrad, its still very contrived to think its possible for him at all. With this powerscaling, most of the black bulls from the current manga should be able to put up a relativley decent fight against Conrad, even Magna.

I feel like the premise of this movie should have been the series' final arc. Conrad was portrayed to be a deep and interesting character. As a former wizard king he went about his plan with a refined strategy. Conrad respected Asta from the beginning and didn't look down upon him for having no magic. Rather he was interested in him and when entering the memories of Marx he knew how special Asta is. He was one step ahead when he got into Nero's secret lair before the black bulls. Conrad intimidated Yami, Noelle, Finral and Nero. The people Asta is closest with to a point where he lost his composure and even than Conrad was just facined by Asta. The previous wizard kings agreed on Conrad's view of a new clover kingdom so we had potentially a lot of interesting history to explore. The fights were peak. Nobody of the main cast was portrayed weak against the previous wizard kings rather everyone stayed in the realm of their possibilities. Asta and Conrad had a all out conversation about their ambitions. He even let Asta hit him because he respected him that much. Conrad offered Asta to be the next wizard king of his newly formed clover kingdom but Asta refused. He doesn't want his goals handed to him, he wants to work his way towards them. I just loved Asta in this movie, he was charismatic, mature and again so inspiring. He wouldn't blame anyone if they would seek shelter in heart kingdom. He again played his part perfectly. When Conrad was defeated after an intense fight all Asta gave him was peace. Even the previous wizard kings had a peaceful send-off as if they knew the clover kingdom was in good hands now. I also really liked Noelle's performance because she just showed how much of an intelligent and experienced fighter she's become even with the basics of magic. Edward approved of Noelle's passion with the black bulls that made them stronger against him. This is the Noelle I wanted to see in the current manga, not relying on the next power up but on the experience she had up until now. This movie had more of an conclusion that actually felt conclusive. A grounded adventure that summed up everything Black Clover is all about. Finally something that is entirely separate from devils. On the other hand, everything related to Lucius Zogratis just feels over the top for me.

The plot twist surrounding Lucius himself was well done but the way Lucius goes about his plan is more like Yhwach. I just noted everything that made me think Conrad was a better character than Lucius. That opinion "might' change at the end of the series. The only things I want to see are his reaction to Asta's return and the eventual fight.

My boy Jester took a combo attack from 3 captains and wasn't really even affected. Combo attack in question was a demension slash so thats some crazy strength to me, I thought he wouldve been the weakest but definitely not. Every Wizard King impressed me and caught me off guard. This was the best anime movie in a while. My top 3 shounen battle anime movies of all time are now: 1. DBS Broly 2. Black Clover 3. My Hero Academia: 2 heroes. The demon slayer movie was pretty good, but its not in my top 3 because I actually preferred the anime version of the arc. One Piece Film Red and the JJK movie weren't exactly my cup of tea either, but I did enjoy them. I also really enjoyed Bleach Hell verse but I watched that one a LONG time ago and I don't know if it would hold up today.

the last fight at the end gave us a small teaser of what's to come in the far future when the "angels" come in for the anime. Also, onto Asta defeating Conrad. I may be looking too much into it, but it may be a hint onto how Asta will defeat Lucious. No, I'm not saying its going to be a 1:1, just the entirety of the fight may be a hint in itself. Also, when I saw Asta with the Wizard King Sword + Demon Destroyer and Asta looking like a Half Demon + Angel I'm pretty sure the people who love the Hybrid theory were screaming.

This movie was epic, and Conrad is rivaling Lucius for best villain in the series. But his story brings up an important question, how is asta gonna change the kingdom and make it the ideal one he and Conrad dreamed of? Going off Conrad’s story as well as the ice wizard king’s, the nobility seem to be the main cause behind all the inequality as well as the creation of threats to the kingdom. If Asta’s not careful, he can easily end up going the same route as Conrad, hell he was almost brought to it by Lucius. I’ve been saying this for a while but this kingdom gotta go through a French Revolution, cause I don’t see any other way to break the cycle.

Conrad would be up there in terms of black clover villains, but geez he was a lil repetitive and a bit dumb in this movie. He really really should have killed asta much much earlier, and even when he had the chance to later tbh. Love the time I had with the movie with my family, but Conrad planned to bring people back after all was said and done with the kingdom regardless. I get he related to asta and saw how special he was and he wanted him to succeed and be respected and all that, but he really could've just killed asta and brought him back AFTER his plan succeeded. Then there wouldn't really be as much reason for Asta to fight him. Instead, he spares asta more than once and gives him time to consider joining him... Still an alright villain but geez his brain wasn't braining in that moment. Edit: Also take this one with a grain of salt, and I may even be wrong on this one (correct me if I am), but couldn't he have brought his friends and family back? The people that were part of his motivation? Maybe I missed something that suggests he can't do that and this did only just come to mind but I don't remember anything saying that he can't do that lol

This is a minor thing, but can we just acknowledge that Conrad got hands, like even without magic dude packed up asta, noelle and Finral with the quickness 😂. On a side note, I notice that asta seems to struggle against opponents with actual martial skill and finesse, which fits honestly, as despite his skill in swordsmanship, he’s still more of an adept compared to people like Ichika, Conrad, Mereoleona and even Yami that have been training in pure martial arts for decades. Even his win against liebe can be aided by the fact that liebe isn’t a combatant by any means.

6:06 I don’t think the Heart Kingdom could have had the opportunity to help. The entire movie was set to less than day. It started midday during the Triumph festival and ended by Dawn because that was when Conrad’s plan would have been completed. We know they managed to gather the rest of Magic Knight Captains with the help of Spacial mages. The only Clover Spacial Mage with access to the Heart Kingdom’s Capital would have been Finral, and we know this because Asta and the gang had to physically travel to the Heart Kingdom which means no Spacial Mage at the time could have had direct access to Loropecheka. Finral wouldn’t have had the time to go to the Heart Kingdom because not only was he in the front lines fighting Conrad initially, but they needed his Spacial Magic to get to the Research Facility and then he went to go gather the rest of the Black Bulls. They needed his spacial magic afterwards to retake the hideout and then they immediately attacked once they got the hideout back. Furthermore he couldn’t have gone to the Heart Kingdom during the battle because his magic was not only use to bypass the first Barrier but also separate two of the Wizard Kings and had to fight one of them with the other Black Bulls. Suffice to say it would have been incredibly difficult to get a hold of the Heart Kingdom and have them mobilize at such a short time while finding a time for Finral to go there and back with the reinforcements.

Especially since Spacial is an Arcane level magic and the Heart Kingdom doesn’t produce Arcane mages as often as the Clover Kingdom does.

Jester is definitely the strongest after Conrad. Man might low key be equal to base Conrad. Jester took on Yuno, Yami, Nozel and Fuegoleon 1v4 and he was dominating. He only lost cause Asta deactivated the Imperial Sword in time.

If we replace Jester with Mereoleona she would do much better in his place than him because her insane AP and infinity mana scalling would either stomp or one-shot all those nerfed captains and Yuno(without saint stage and pre-Spade Yuno is fodder against Wizard Kings level), Jester was more a plot convenience to make the movie lasts longer because his power is based to make last-longing fights, if everyone wasn't nerfed Jester would either get stomped or fight full force but would still lose because the captains and Yuno would have enought mana and AP to break his barriers, also the not "taking serious" argument is a IQ and Battle IQ nerf, look at what happened to Gyokko or Lucifero. Edward and Princia have atleast excuses for their lack of overwhelming advantage because one is a pacifist that don't want to kill and the other is fighting someone on supreme devil level(Mereoleona), even Conrad has a better excuse for holding back because he didn't wanted to kill Asta, while Jester was just fooling around and underestimating everyone because his opponents were nerfed thanks to plot(or Conrad plan i guess) and all that while being amped by the Wizard Kings sword, still he has great durability nonethless. Also *Jester=80% Dante

Nice vídeo Broku, the edition is very good! Also can you make a comparison in the future which wizard kings(aside from Lumiere) can solo those primordial giant demons that Asta and Mereoleona fought? I think that base Conrad/sacrifice form and composite Conrad should be used as separate characters in this comparison, also it would be cool to put the Spade arc captains solo against those primordial giant demons in that vídeo too, you can use that Yami who fought 80% Dante, i'm very curious to see the results. Great video, but a piece of information that intrigued me was that mentioning of Conrad being the captain of the White Serpent. The White Serpent is a squad I’ve never heard of, or have heard anyone mention, but what I want to know is what happened to it. If it followed the lead of the Gray Deer in becoming a new squad, what squad is it now? The only one I can think of that makes sense would have to be the Purple Orca going off how similar an orca and a serpent look, it would certainly explain why Kaiser of all people got some decent screen time among the captains since Conrad used to be the captain of his squad.

The White Serpent were wiped out when his wife, the vice-captain, was killed along with the rest of the squad. Or, The what remained of his squad during the royal massacre joined his rebellion and died in the process.

Look at the Folded Dawn after Zenon paid them a visit, they lost about half their members and still went on. I guess an answer could be people feared what could happen if they rebuilt the squad after what the royals did.

Both Edward and Princia didn't lost either, they could continue fighting if they wanted and they aren't even serious, it was a matchup diff because of how nerfed the captains were, if Jester and Princia switched opponents he would be done, Mereo AP and speed can scale to supreme devil tier(Devil Union Asta AP lowballing) if she fights long enought thanks to her infinity mana absorbtion, Jester doens't have specific infinity scalling in his shields nor teleportation to keep up with her mana zone insane speed(comparable to Prime Julius speed who can blitz all captains), Jester would definetly lose to the primordial giant devils that Asta and Mereo fought because Jester AP couldn't even finish the weakened and nerfed captains and a fodder Yuno who lost to 55% Zenon, while at the same time Jester got an unlimited supply of mana against the captains without mana.

@@sameer-up6yv Both Princia and Mereoleona has infinity scalling hax that can overwhelm both Jester and Edward, also saying that Edward which is finite can stop Mereoleona infinite fire is pure copping because Mereoleona fire is around the same tier of Lilith and Nama magics which can affect concepts(in this case she absorbs infinity ammounts of mana around her and stockpile amps in her mana zone with infinite attack power and speed potential), just remember that the primordial demon that Devil Union Asta and Mereoleona defeated can not only overwhelm weaker versions of anti-magic but nullify it aswell which is already conceptual tiering, this means that no both Edward and Jester cannot stop the infinite concept of Mereoleona Hellfire Incarnate, Mereoleona will just keep amping her attack power and speed ad infinitum until Jester and Edward runs out of mana or gets one-shot, Princia only put a fight against Mereoleona because Princia has infinite soldiers, can create infinite mass and has a instant teleportation hax that made her keep up with Mereoleona ever increasing speed, as the fight goes on Mereoleona will just keeps getting stronger until the concepts of barriers and absolute zero stops working for her attacks or gets so fast that Jester or Edward becomes like snails also she has feats of anti-magic too because she can burn the concepts of mana and spells too if the gets strong enought. And Yami is nowhere near Mereoleona, she has everything above Yami even physical strenght, if Yami fought manga Paladin Morris he would lose much more than an arm, he would get one-shot just like Jack, Paladin Morris couldn't speed blitz Mereoleona, while Paladin Morgen which is inferior to Paladin Morris(Conceptual manipulation>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>light magic) perception blitz both Yami and Jack, sorry but the feats speaks by themselves, Mereoleona is just built different, she will transcend and become one with mana with infinite magic power and speed, Yami will never reach that level of mana zone control.

This analysis is much more thorough....also Conrad is probably wizard king while acier was alive, who beat younger vanica. With triad being equal, acier could probably overpower D3 and hence so csn Conrad.

Like what i got from this movie and LN is that Princia/Conrad and Mereoleona can fodderize Wizard Kings like Jester by infinity scalling like infinity soldiers/mass and infinity heat(the only limit is the risk of Mereoleona losing her body to the mana), is possible for someone like Jester to defeat infinity scalling?

I do want Tabata to explain more about magic tools...I mean when I watched the movie I couldn't help but think why didn't Julius leave some kind of security Golems to keep an eye on the area Conrad was imprisoned like how the Witches Forest has them cause that Magic Research branch 0 seems to be very high tech I would think they could maybe some Security golems right? Also I wonder in order to become a Wizard King do you have to at least learn Mana Zone and If Someone with Key Magic or Copy Magic copied or stole magic/spells from someone but that same person ends up dying at some point would the User of Key Magic or Copy Magic still keep the magic they copied or stole from that now dead person?

The craziest part about this was that Mereoleona and Asta were the only ones that fought any of the Wizards Kings 1v1. And aside from Mereoleona becoming Mana itself, they all got their butts kicked for the majority of the movie! Jester was definitely my favorite, his versatility with Barrier magic was insane!!!

This took place in the 6 month time skip, so it was before he actually first received the arm in the manga and anime. I would say it's more of a teaser to DU than anything since Asta when he sacrificed his arm didn't even have that much power and looked a lot like DU Asta compared to what happened in the Dante fight. So it was probs just a way to buff him to actually beat Conrad while keeping relative to the narrative even though it really doesn't make much sense.

Given the small glimpse of Julius eye, it felt very meta of what Conrad said to a trapped Julius, or perhaps the Lucius within 😂. I also love what felt like the inspiration to the powers to the imperial sword(like a combo of Naruto and mha) 💕. Hopefully for the last saga I hope studio Pierrot will take their time to make it, even if it may be seasonal.

I'm really glad that his origin was in line with one of the two possible choices you thought of back when you made the video on the 4 wizards kings. Because honestly I was a little bit more on Conrads side of the argument than Asta's. Don't get me wrong Asta was definitely inspiring during the fight and what he wanted the kingdom to be as he felt the kingdom can change, but Conrad felt the kingdom will NEVER change mainly because of the monarchy(especially the royals). On top of that unlike Asta, Conrad was attacked on a personal level. He truly wanted to bring positive change to the kingdom, but because he "threaten" the status quo, the royals had his wife and squad killed on a false mission as result. Plus if Asta's trial is any indication, the royals very likely weren't punished for it, so it's no wonder Conrad fell to darkness.

The movie takes place 3 months into the 6 month timeskip. So that means asta has 3 more months of training to get. Conrad power when wielding Elsdocia is ridiculous. He was trapped not in one, but in FOUR Chrono Stasis binding spells and STILL was able to move. It literally forced Julius to unconsciously use Astaroth power to seal him... or forced Lucius to let a bit more of Astaroth power out, not sure which is more likely, but the outcome is the same. Honestly, if Conrad had been persuaded by Asta to stop and join them, Lucius would be fucked, as Dark Triad may never be able to capture both Yami and William xDD The only thing I wished was in this movie, was that Conrad should at least have a guess that something is wrong with Julius, so he would not trust him, especially after his wife got killed. Or a hint at the end that his wife death may be somehow influenced yb Lucius.

The thing about these fights is that they can be argued multiple ways-don’t forget that the 4 wizard kings were pretty much cheating throughout the entire film They were running on near infinite mana while half of the captains were fighting on near depleted mana levels Honestly I’d say that in a normal fight with no hax, even Yuno bodies Jester with mid/high difficulty

The movie narrative really did insult Yuno and Yami, they were acting like NPC's too not even strategizing just trying to brute force, the Imperial Sword broke the powerscalling of the movie, the only powerscalling fight that made sense in that movie and is solid is Mereoleona vs Princia because both of them has some form of infinity hax, Compound Conrad has like the power of 27 Wizard Kings and didn't body Asta is a vírus IQ feat and snail Battle IQ feat for him.
