This is a video I meant to make eight years ago. Oh, how time flies. 🤣 A video all about structures might seem basic, but I think even veterans of StarCraft 2 will find some piece of information in there they didn’t know before. Also, to keep the video at a reasonable length, I had to cut a LOT of details and bonus stuff. Most of that stuff will go into my race specific guides (Terran, Protoss, Zerg) in the near future. Most of the time I spent on this video went into research, fact checking, and setting up the scenes in the game’s editor. Never thought I’d actually get some use out of all those hours I spent making custom maps for WarCraft 3! 😂 If you found this video valuable, I’d be super grateful if you could hit the like button and leave a quick comment, as it really helps the video reach more people. And if you want to help a tiny channel grow, consider subscribing! ✅ If you have any questions or comments, let me know! And thanks for supporting me. 😍

I don't even play starcraft and I was just curious one day so I searched for info about it. Every single video I've seen so far looking for explanations about how the game works and different stuff about the game is so confusing. Every single one except the ones from you so good job!

Even tho I am a diamond player and already knew all of this, I forgot some specific details that I haven't been paying attention recently. Who knows, maybe starting to pay attention to those details will get me to masters league soon. Great video, I hope your content helps to bring a couple more players into the game. Info like this surely will make the learning curve a little less tough for new players

20:04 There is an important distinction here between armor and the "armored" tag. The armor value of a unit or structure flatly reduces incoming damage from attacks. It can be increased by different upgrades and is ignored by spell damage but in any case goes: more armor -> more good. The "armored" tag of a unit or structure is nothing specifically good. It just marks it as "armored" so that any unit that has bonus damage vs "armored" does more damage against it. I feel like this confuses a lot of newer players. An armored unit has no inherent advantage over a light unit, it just determines how different units interact. Also I'd pay good money to see a professional TvT end by somebody stealing an add-on xD
@Altercate3 жыл бұрын
Well said! Off the top of my head, some structures are Armored but have no armor (Sensor Tower is an example, I think) which is pretty unintuitive! And yes, I pray that one day we'll finally see a professional TvT end that way 😂

I have a question: Can I cycle between groups of units (Marines, Siege tanks etc.) by Tab key?
@Altercate3 жыл бұрын
Correct, the Tab key cycles between different units in your current selection. It works exactly as for structures - there's a set priority that *always* remains the same if you have the same types of units in your selection. So if you have Marines, Marauders, and Medivacs in the same unit group, they will always be in the same order. Hope that helps! 😀
@coldcoder31383 жыл бұрын
@@Altercate I'm asking, because I wanted to select tanks and turn them to siege mode, but i had to go through other units I had and Ctrl + tank. Thanks a lot.
@Altercate3 жыл бұрын
@@coldcoder3138 Glad I could help! 😀
@skipp32523 жыл бұрын
In the case of tanks it is very good practice to put them on a different hotkey though. Not only does it let you siege them but it allows you to focus fire important enemy units with your tanks. This might be too advanced for your skill level but it is a good habit to build early anyways. But generally it is very usefull to cycle through selected units with tab. Just keep in mind that depending on what units you have in your selection it might take more or less tabs than you expect.

Asbolutely AMAZING videos! question though... I haven't played since SC1 20 years ago, but you got me in to SC2! But I played a match and had a floating base trying to hide and still lost... do they change the rules in online play so it doesn't drag out? (I was playing against a friend just trying to annoy him a little after he destroyed me).

All structures are also armoured, but being armoured does nothing except make them take more damage!
