THANKS FOR WATCHING! And a big thanks to Suanne for spending time chatting with David. Look for the link to the full interview in the description above. "Dial the Gate" also recently talked with another of our favorite Stargate women: Teryl Rothery, who played the beloved Dr. Janet Fraiser. Check that out here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6Ssk2OcoZJ4lZo

I love that your doing interviews with all these chatacters/actors, but will you do one with Ronny Cox (Sen. Kinsey) , would really love to see that one.

Got any plans to do an interview with Ona Grauer ? She has been in all 3 SG series.( I am sure you know that though! )
@GateWorldDotNet4 жыл бұрын
As we work our way through all the guests announced in early October David will be revealing his plans for the next batch of guests. Thanks for the suggestion! (We do have an awesome video interview with Ronny in the archives at GateWorld.net! There's also a chat with Ona there, though IIRC that might have been by telephone).

@@kurtsnyder4752 Was it a scheme or did fans actually think she should be a good person?
@kurtsnyder47524 жыл бұрын
@@RRW359 well, it was her plan. Now whether a "scheme"? Eh, tohmaytoe , tomahto. She may have been Ra's wife or consort or mate but was in her( assuming the Goua'ld do have genders apart from host's) own right as apparent co equal though apparently, due to what with the association of harvest blessings from her namesake and whatnot, perhaps not so obsessed with power. That said, in cannon, she was somewhat Possessive of male followers, females, er, not so much. Did not seem so much of potential genocidal as that being just wanting to be in control of her own destiny and needing humans for that end. Seemed perfectly willing to perhaps dial down the ambition and cooperate with SGCers, Kind of why alot of the fans think she was mistreated and with the fanfics to rewrite. Plus, some lot, me very much in this, would have liked to see more of the character/portrayer in the series,(yeah, easy on the hetero male eyes indeed) much like Anise/Freya with Anise dialing down the 'tude somewhat. On that episode where the "this" universe has appearances of alternate universe SGC teams, it would have been fun to have had a team with Hathor on it and another with Anise, even one with Ba'al(if he'd knock off he outrageousflirting he was doing all the time with Carter)!
@kurtsnyder47524 жыл бұрын
@@RRW359 "good" is relative and "person" if Goua'ld could as sentient beings be classed as persons. She was most assuredly ambitious, for own personal or for "subjects"? Definite dominatrix , though there, Could've been for out and out selfish or for really believing that hers was the correct way. Could be seen in some other franchises as the BC Sherlock's Irene Adler or the Doctor Who's Missy(Damn near biggest villain dose the heel face trope to hero?), or Supernaturals' Rowena and Ruby and Meg and Li;ith and The Darkness or in Tom Ellis' Lucifer where these characters cannot be strictly binary 1s and 0s; black and white. They went greyzoning there alot. Person Of Interest and Leverage and Burn Notice lived in the gray as did Dexter and Buffy TVS' Angel and Spike.

On that note, some trivia about Cuba. Castro made it illegal to kill cows for any reason ('to eat' being the primary reason) or you'd get 30 years prison without the chance for bail. Castro was obsessed with dairy products.

I see a hathor figure in the background…I just love it when actors take pride in their sci-fi roles. Far too often many of them are ashamed it cause of how relatively absurd the roles they play.

OMG she's such a delight to listen to. She seems extremely genuine, and I love it. Hathor used to get me really annoyed, but I suppose in a way she was supposed to. I never thought it was badly acted, it was acted really well, the character just really got on my nerves. Which I suppose makes sense when you're dealing with a really seductive goddess who embodies all beauty and sexuality and you're a lady watching her wrap all men around her finger.

The thing that always bothered me with Hathor isn’t anything to do with the character herself of Suanne, but when the schvitz was lit on fire and she somehow climbed out unscathed from flaming...water?! you have to look quick because the stunt double is barely visible climbing out and for that matter escaping. I’m surprised there wasn’t extra coverage from a second or third camera of her climbing out. Eats at me every time I see it (plus again, are Go’auld birthed in kerosene or something?)
