I remember taking a photo of this store with the owner after paolo did a video on him. Glad he has blown up. Love the appreciation for the importance he puts in the tradition of his craft!

I would take him up in a HEARTBEAT if I could get to Japan. I'm obsessed with taiyaki even though I've never had one. There's just something about them that I absolutely adore! I've actually been wanting to have a sweet shop where I sold them on my menu for a while now so my dreams would match up with his!

I was there recently this past November! It was so good that we went twice. Both Mr. Yoshino and his wife and super lovely and kind. The taiyaki is the best, the right amount of crispy to chewy and the red bean not too smooth, not too chunky and just the right amount of sweetness.

To his son, please come back and help him make taiyaki. I am concerned about his conditions. Hand baking is hard, I can tell you much. Traditionally baked pastries are delicious. Im sad if one day the tradition dies along with the generation

when i was little, i used to eat taiyaki every week. in the U.S there's barely any. i haven't eaten them in 16 years. i miss eating crispy and warm taiyaki on cold autumn day

I love taiyaki with red bean paste. I tried it for the first time at a Japanese festival in a Japanese garden (It was in Texas btw). It was very good 😋

I don't see a benefit to the individual molds outside of having minimal customers. Taiyaki was so wonderful, that I almost cried. It relaxed me too much to go crazy.

Just had his Taiyaki last week whilst in Asakusa! Really flippin' good. But to be honest, all of the Taiyaki spots in Asakusa were really flippin' good. You can't stay in business if you serve a bad product in that area. Too much competition.

I heard moving the "," over and you'll get a rough idea. Like 1,000 yen is 10.00 usd 10,000 is 100. Otherwise Google has a built in currency converter. Just type in "yen to usd" !

I can see how making other Japanese food takes a lot of skills. I don't understand the complexity of putting batter in a mold and heating it up. People do it all the time when they make waffles.

Ikr? I mean sure, it's custom made, but why is a slight difference in imprint so important as to be worth sinking a 10x upcharge from what you would normally pay? Especially if you're getting multiple of them.
