This is how I see it -- after the first day the ICE TLX team took it seriously, and they still could not shake off the Taycan. No matter what they did, it stayed on their heels.

I drove the TLX up to Seattle before the event and I actually found the front seats of the Taycan more comfortable than the TLX. But then again I'm a big ol' lboy. Bless you guys for doing this!

In think if this was with overnight stops as you typically do, the difference would have been much smaller (on the condition there was destination charging)

Great callout

It'd be cool to see this tested. They could do the same race but with a required 8-hour stop every evening where the EVs level-2 charge at a hotel.

Did I miss if they mentioned cost of gas vs the EVs charging for the trip?

I'm never doing a cannonball. My Tesla M3LR will get me anywhere I need to go in two stops or less.

Most people doing this would use overnight stops, which would have bought nearly all the cars together more or less, sure some would get a bit more sleep then others but not much in it really except the planning.

This was an interesting test that was about as useful as the Whistlin Diesel test of the Cybertruck. I’m about as likely to race coast to coast as I am to launch off a jump at full throttle
