Great first atrempt, Kyle! But jist like the rest of the comments, i agree. I would setup a primary camera with everyone in frame, and separate between hosts and second camera with guest. Camera lighting and angle is everything. Audio is great btw!

Appreciate the discussion about regen options, which don't get discussed enough! When you talk to people who haven't previously driven or are just getting used to EVs, you routinely hear this being a major issue they don't like or is a barrier for them. More cars need what eGMP and a few other platforms have, which is an easy way to modify regen levels to fit the driver preferences, all the way from no regen to one-pedal. There is no reason this needs to be a barrier to EV ownership, and yet so few automakers incorporate this feature into their EVs!

Today, late in 2024 with a tremendous improvement in EA, EVGO, other CCS1 quality of charging plus access to Superchargers with adapter, Superchargers improvement as well, there is no need to choose any Tesla. Instead there are plenty non Tesla sweet choices for any kinds of needs. Moreover, just in several months plenty of non Tesla will come with NACS port. Plus plenty of new models are coming to market. The time to own an EV is becoming more interesting day after day.

Sound quality is very good, better than 90% of KZbin content. Consider a non-Cannonball (torture free) coast to coast. My suggestion - 16 hour driving plus or minus 1 hour with adjustments made the next day (drive 15 hours day 1 day 2 limit goes to 17) , 30 minute lunch stop, level 2 charging overnight for EV’s, safely done with 2 people, . I think this would reflect how most would travel even in an ICE vehicle. I’m sure you can improve on the concept but this would prove that EV’s see closing the gap to ICE on extended trips. Congrats on new location 👍🏼😊

The problem with a start up is that eventually the price of the product costs less and less to produce as the start up is able to produce their product for a lesser cost. It’s always the end user that becomes part of the investment into start up. Yet as an early adopter you are able to one of the first to have the latest and greatest!

Edit: looks like Dave leased the Macan, smart move. Porsche does have high MF on leases, but if you shop dealers you can find it varies widely. Some will deal. Check out Redshift ECU swaps. Their Taycan improvements are real (option for more regen, slightly faster charging, Tesla-like initial throttle response, unlock pwr, etc). Maybe they'll have a Macan option at some point.

I hope Dave does an episode on Macan regen w/o one pedal driving. My assumption is regen slows EV down adequately, but brake pedal is needed at every stop light and stop sign.

@@johnpoldo8817That's what I was hoping, but I've driven the Turbo. Even with the regen switch set to on, it is so weak, so the car barely slows at all. Unless you use the brake pedal. Then you can see in the HUD how in the pedal travel it initially starts to re-gen, and it has a lot of it. If you stomp on it, it will use friction brakes too.

@ I don’t think pressing the brake pedal to achieve regen is relaxing. Automatic regen from releasing accelerator seems better. Hopefully, Dave chimes in on Macan braking.

I suspect that the reason the Macan Park Button is not working could be because it’s being pressed too quickly. I’ve noticed a similar issue with the turn signal lever on my Tesla Model 3.

Audio fairs well. A perspective setup for the camera would be ideal with all subjects in the frame. Topics transition would serve well when editing. This was definitely a good listen.

Love to have Out of Spec review on the New 2025 GMC Sierra Denali, on a Tesla Supercharger version 3 or better 3+ to see how well it does. Here in Canada we still have dire shortage of functional 350KW CCS chargers. I was worried with the new administration GM would run away from EV's but it looks like they are still committed to electric vehicles!

I’m not sure I would try a Trans-Canada hwy cross Canada race. We drove our Ioniq 5 on that route last year, and the Prairie Provinces mostly have 50 kW Flo’s and some old Petro Canada chargers that are also 50 kW. It’s fine if you want to check out Medicine Hat or Moose Jaw, but it’s no good for a race.

Btw Macan without the option of one pedal driving is no bueno. I cannot drive an Ev without it, one reason why I sold my Etron, Regen wasn't strong enough compared to like my Lightning or Model Y. EVs need Regen, Period.

Plz do not mention throttle house and Hagerty is the same sentence. Hagerty is whole another lever. The Icon episodes are another level. Throttle follows the trend.
