@aragorn1780
@aragorn1780 3 жыл бұрын
The JAGs themselves are literally lawyers so their likelihood of seeing combat is next to nothing When they deploy it's to deal with time sensitive issues regarding conduct especially if anybody breaks UCMJ or even commits war crimes while on deployment (I don't know this for a fact but it would make sense) Enlisted members in a JAG unit work as paralegals/legal assistants, they're significantly less likely to see combat but it wouldn't be unheard of for them to be crosstrained into a combat unit for deployment (I mean heck there was a time when air force enlistees got crosstrained into army infantry units in Afghanistan lol)

The timeless army brief. So much of this never changes. I trained in NTC in SUMMER (you know, to squeeze every last bit of heat out of the extreme hot, dry desert) to do a WINTER rotation in Camp Casey, South Korea. (cold, humid forest) high humidity and high winds meant wind chill kept you nice and chill. Just like the Vodka in the freezer. We really stood out with our sand colored tanks in that green, forested, training area, but I guess once the snow hit, it wouldn't have made any difference if our vehicles were tan or green.

The intel briefing I got before going to Iraq was "yea theres no imminent danger where you're going and its low threat". First night in theater I learned that the highway at my base (COB Adder) was known as IED alley and where Jessica Lynch was taken and had lots of boom boom at night. So much for that intel briefing.

Kinda sucks that we never took any oil.
@alejandrorojas1423
@alejandrorojas1423 4 жыл бұрын
It was never about the physical oil itself but instead what the oil was traded in. Saddam was attempting to sell oil for euro's and gold which is a big no no. It undermines and destabilizes the global FIAT reserve currency system and can result in hella problems. The Iraqi oil is once again being sold for Dollars as intended and of course as the nation who controls the dollar we in the United States benefit from that. Every nation does really. But especially us. Dont worry. We definitely got something out of it
