Such a simple, reliable, and strong lock. It baffles why it isn't used is any other knife!

For real. I've been a pm2 fan boy for a long time, but I got a manix yesterday and it might be my favorite already

Spyderco would demolish any company that tries to copy it. But yes indeed it should be in another Spyderco design. This knife is the bees knees. A smaller version with fancy steel would be a home run!

It’s basically a bench made axis lock which was patent not long ago probably being the reason it wasn’t used until recently

@@exotikshadowz2477The ball bearing lock is not the same as rhe axis/crossbar lock. If ypu want to say that, you might as well say the axis lock is the same as the bolt action lock.

Manix 2 is my Favorite Spyderco!

This would have been my choice had it not been for the plastic material of the nub used for this lock. I hope a future iteration uses a more premium material for such an important part.

And this is why the bolts or the shaft of the ball cage with fail before the ball, back spacer or blade. One of if not the strongest folding lock there is and so smooth. And no “lock stick” I love pm2s and 3s. And they’re awesome when they’re glassy. But any little stick or “pop” feeling in the lock I can’t stand. Same with frame and liner locks. If it clicks sticks or pops it drives me nuts. Manix 2 is just glass.

Way better than the shitty omega springs that are 100% guaranteed to snap after about a thousand openings. Literally made out of paper clip steel.

In a sense this is like the Demko Shark Lock.
@J0eMega4 ай бұрын
Not quite. The shark lock has a bar that locks onto a pin, making for an extremely strong lock. This is more of just wedging a piece in between the blade and the frame, and using a spring to keep it in place. Still strong, but not nearly as strong as a shark lock.

Im worried since I just ordered the SPY27 Steel one and its all on pins.. how the heck does one repair it if there aint a screw to be found. I mean if the spring or ball bearing cage breaks.
@lionknives3 Жыл бұрын
Now they have screw construction
@BusteloBoy Жыл бұрын
You gotta drill the pins out and get new handles

Send it in to Spyderco they will repair it

Now the question is which one is better, this or the Axis lock? I prefer Spyderco 90% of the time but have had many Benchmades including my very first pocket knife at 12 years old a Benchmade Panther.
@TheOfficialCaseMade27 күн бұрын
I think this is inherently more durable than the Axis Lock system. I have heard that the springs will eventually break on the Benchmades.

This lock is incredibly strong.

How strong of a lock do you even need on a folding knife?? Most locking mechanisms are stronger than you will ever need. The omega springs on the axis suck too.
