genuinely my friends didn't understand why i was so hyped for this movie, i had high hopes because nintendo themselves worked on it and it lived up to those!! when my friend and i went to watch it they were like omg that was amazing, i see why you wanted to see it heh. ik critics have bashed it a lot but i think it captured the essence of the games 100% while still making it entertaining and not the cut and paste mario story. great video!! loved hearing more about how this movie was made! you can tell so much thought went into it

5:45 Which is really how the story ended up as good as it did and survived the initial push for girlboss Peach completely upstaging Mario in his movie to a more limited and honestly more justified girlboss outing. Because again, if Miyamoto-San didn't threaten Horvath and Jelenic and their families with Nintendo's ninja squad, they uncertainly would've flanderized Mario and his world like they did with Teen Titans Go. Great video. Bowser was amazing in this movie and I feel they had a great balance of silly and threatening. Also all the mario music both remixed and original was great to noticed while watching. My favorite was recognizing the fury bowser theme during the Bowser scene.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is a film with passion and effort into it. It was clear that this movie would be a smash hit for fans of the red-clad Italian-American plumber from Brooklyn. It faithfully emulated the source material perfectly, and is just a great movie overall. Sure, it is not a perfect movie. I'd say the liscenced songs were somewhat forced, and Chris Pratt's vocal delivery is weak compared to everyone else, but I don't care. The Mario Movie is simply a redemption arc after the horrible 1993 version. Hopefully we can get a Nintendo Cinematic Universe coming in the future soon. Banger vid, as always Carlito!

I still have my copy of the o mario bros movie on VHS. It wasnt bad for the time, but adaptations would take al ong time before getting close to what the games were like. Even the Tomb Raider films were ok, but folks mainly went to see em ause Angelina Jolie padded up her bra to look like Lara Croft. Still hot though. The live action movie version of yoshi looked awesome though for a 90s animatronic. A month later Jurassic Park released in theatres, so all the dinosaur stuff in movies at the time and tv just worked better than people realized. Inever had a Wii and thus never knew that the virtual part of it had an emulator for Genesis AND the TurboGraphix, yet it didnt have game boy, Game Boy color or GBA on it? I still gotta see the new mario flick, but I have no doubt Nintendo is gonna be around for decades more, and probably will buy out or take over microsofts failing gaming division, and sony might not be around forever either. We shall see. BE WELL ^

i wouldn't be surprised if the real reason why sony wanted to make a super mario bros movie is so that they could go trick Nintendo into signing a contract that would allow sony to either steal the mario IP right out from Nintendo's nose or get full ownership of the mario IP

He also probably got Nintendo's ninja squid/in house hit team to personal kidnap their families and had them at katanna point unless they made the changes Miyamoto wanted. And yes, Nintendo has their own inhouse ninja/squad hit team. It's mostly kept in reserve incase Segata Sanshiro ever returns, but in the mean time, it makes for an expedient and politically reliable well of leverage in these sorts of corporate conflicts.
