I love this video, rewatching it for like the third time. I don’t know why, maybe it’s just nostalgia but it makes me sad these times are behind us. I didn’t know about Camp Hyrule before this video but I’m glad so many fans got to participate and enjoy this community every summer.

Even though in terms of competitive racing, Mario Kart was better. The overall look and feel of this ADVENTURE-Racing game makes me remind it more fondly. Truly a beautiful game.

This video makes me feel like I'm losing my mind. How is that thing considered his movie design. These are barely the same design. I never would have thought of TSMBM without hearing someone else say it. I don't know how to explain the precise details, but Movie!D.K. has this... _fire,_ this pep, that makes the usual D.K. look like a guy in a suit. "Pulpous" Kong does not have "fire." He is humble. He is docile. He is a slightly off-model plush-toy of DK come to life. He gives off "only seen in one of the Nintendo Labo games." He looks like a robot character who offers to beat the level for you if you fail it too many times. It probably sounds like I am branding him inferior to Rogen Kong, but I am smitten with both Kongs and believe they carry two diametric flavors. I am still on the fence as to whether they chose the right flavor for this game, but that's not what this comment is about.

DK is my favorite video game character of all time, and this was dirty. You expect a character to gradually evolve and gain more detail over time, but this was not gradual. We already have a handful of idiot-looking Kongs... Kiddy, Chunky, Lanky, to name a few. DK didn't need to join the list. I'm hoping Nintendo will pull a Sonic movie and fix DK before the release, even in a day 1 patch if the cards are already packaged. Worst case scenario, if this DK stays in Mario Kart, the next actual DK game had better use the Rare look. Nintendo would have never rebranded Mario this way, and DK didn't deserve it, either.

I dont think this change is permanent. The other character that looks pretty different is Bowser,but nobody has commented on that yet. I think this is just the artstyle of this 1 game in particular,which comes off like a 3D version of SNES sprites
