You’re right about the lack of story direction. From the first Iron Man movie to Endgame there was a consistent story told through each Hero’s movies to get to the final boss battle between them and Thanos. Anything else after was basically Filler with little build up to anything major

The fact Carol hasn't been around actually helps her status a lot. She's a mystery so people can project on her a lot as Kamala does. The movie kind of addresses the hero worship and the fact Kamala doesn't really know her. Similarly Kate didn't really know Clint, she just saw him being heroic once in a time of crisis and thought it was inspiring. Also the movie does indicate that she's spent some time on Earth during the 5 year blip as she was with Maria before her death and if I'm not mistaken Endgame also suggested she was spending some time on Earth as well.

For me, the most enjoyable parts were the dance and singing with Prince Yan (a waste of Park Seo Joon acting skills, by the way) and the "cats" scene that made all of the theater burst in laugh. The rest was just so- so. And the cameo of Beast was exactly what you mention here, just to keep the fans engaged. Loved the little fans 😄and also Carol arriving to the Villian's Bar 🤣.

Look, it's a fun two to three hours if you can shut off your brain for it. But yeah, they're trying too hard to recapture the magic of the first Avengers movie finally collecting the heroes from each movie. Tell good stories first. Worry about the team-ups later. *ALSO,* adding time travel and a multiverse completely neuters the tension. Comic books in general have this problem.

@@jodinsan The MCU as a whole is so inconsistent and all over the place to where you have no choice but to shut off your brain in order to enjoy most of the stuff being put out now. If you want to turn off your brain, that's perfectly fine, you just have to understand that these inconsistencies are not just nitpicks that can be handwaved away with as these inconsistencies effect the plots of these movies and shows and in turn, the "big picture".
